I along with my boyfriend recently made a trip to Shavarish Jewelers. We were looking to purchase a few inexpensive pieces, but didn't have much in mind. First walking into the store we were treated like celebrities. Arpine, the owner greeted us, offered us a cold beverage (it was about 90 outside), she took time getting to know us -she was extremely friendly and warm - she explained the store's history. It had been family owned for years and she recently took over when her father retired. She asked us questions regarding budgets, and my different style choices. It was a nice experience because we were new to buying jewelry and didn't know much about it. She was so knowledgable and helpful it made the experience better than I could ever expect. I recently got engaged =) !!! My fiance & I have been dating 15 years - and finally decided to take the plunge and get married. We decided we would bare no expense when it came to the ring and after shopping around almost EVERY fine jewelry store in the worcester/boston area we were releaved to 'stumble' upon Shavarsh Jewelers. The staff was so helpful!! We set up a meeting with store owner Arpine. After only seconds of speaking to her she won us over! She was smart, confident, and seemed to know EXACTLY what I wanted before I even told her. She pulled out some of her former designs - which were magnificent, it truely took my breath away how absolutely beautiful her pieces were. She explained how the pieces were made, she also owns a manufacturing company outside the store. She explained exactly how the pieces were made - which helped me understand the intensive labor put into my special piece. It was amazing. She made us feel as if we were apart of her family. The business has been handed over to his eldest daughter, Arpine and the switch could not have gone better. His daughter is like a mini version of Shavarsh. He is known to be a man of quality and style - and Arpine matches his stature. She is honest - which you do not find from most jewlery owners. She has a the touch of European taste and style which you don't find in worcester, very often. I brought in a pair of my mother's earrings- which weren't exactly my style. Arpine had many great ideas for the stones. She presented me with many options - and I found exactly what I wanted. The piece turned out absoultely stunning and I couldn't be happier (and I saw the excitement Arpine had, at my happiness alone). My name is George Papas and I have lived in the Worcester area for over 20 years. I was looking to buy a 2 and a half karat diamond engagement ring. After going to several stores I felt that I was being pushed away and ignored just because of my accent and looks. I just felt that I was not treated correctly and that no matter how much a person wants to spend they should be respected. I then went to Shavarsh Jewelers and ended up spending 4 hours sitting with the owner, Arpine, and going over all of the different options I had. When you become educated by salesperson you really understand what you are buying and you appreciate what you are going to purchase. If someone else I knew told me to go to another jeweler I would tell them that ?If another jeweler would give me a half price discount I would not purchase anything from anywhere else. Once this jeweler was a top choice in the area, but no more. Avoid at all costs! Do not buy at this store! They no longer stand behind their product. When Sharvash, the original owner was in charge, he would stand by his work and honored the client relationship. Now after years of ownership changes and the business now be handed down to his daughter Arpanine, the serivce and customer relations have gone downhill. After spending over $15K in jewerly there, I returned after 2 months with a defect that should have been easily fixed by them. Not only did they refuse to fix it, but they wouldn;t even discuss it in a civil manner. They instead shouted at us. The manner in which we were treated and engaged was outrageous. I have never in my life been treated so badly My wife and I stormed out of the store and vowed to share this experience so others would not be burned.
