I have been a resident of the ""Sharper Image Homeowner's Association"" for 4 years now, and I am completely unsatisfied with them in general. I own a condo, under their association, in Smyrna and they make it honestly a horrible place to live. Everyone pays around $175/month, and there are a lot of condos on the property, meaning they are getting a good chunk of money each month.
I honestly just believe that they pocket the money, because they never do anything to actually help the community. I have contacted them plenty of times to get things looked at/fixed. Examples: Broken Stairs that have rusted nails popping out of them (there are children everywhere, who could get seriously injured), Snakes, Bugs EVERYWHERE! - They do not spray for anything. The heater in the pool hasn't worked for the entire 4 years I have lived here. Speaking of the pool, they didn't even bother touching it/cleaning it until May (couple days ago). The only thing that they DO is landscaping, and we're lucky if that's even once a week.
They do not have anywhere to walk your dogs. They don't have any clean-up stations, and they complain about letting your dogs pee anywhere on the property. Really?...
A couple of years ago, a woman on the association used to follow me around in her car when I would walk my dogs, to make sure I cleaned up after them. One time, I witnessed her hiding in the bushes with binoculars and a camera, looking into my patio door and taking pictures. I immediately contacted the association and the police, got her to stay away from me, yet....she is STILL a part of the association.
Really creepy and weird people, and under their homeowners, you will have no privacy at all.
Not a place that is safe for children, or pets. STEER CLEAR!
