I recently went to Dr Shakelford and although he was nice but a bit too flirty for my taste(which I was told this also from a friend after I made an appointment) and he seemed to do a good job but his staff are the biggest morons I have ever dealt with.Although the one black gentleman there was the only exception. The rest of his staff I would not even recommend them for a job taking orders at McDonalds. Ive dealt with moronic people before but people like this should not be working in a Doctors office. I could go into specifics and write another 2 paragraphs but since I live in the same town I'm not going to pin point myself out. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I will not be back. The money I spent I will just chalk up to a lesson learned. more

I have gone to many optometrists and opthamologists over the years, and I have never been able to see very well. I have always had problems until I saw Dr. Shackleford and his staff. I got my glasses back fast and sent my son and grandkids to see him. Our whole family is happy. more

I've been going to see Dr. Shackelford for years, and I think he's the best. He's really fun and my kids love him. His office in Hernando is really cool too. more

As a happy customer of Dr. Shackelford, I assure you that he does indeed stand by his product. You should have talked with him instead of any other employee. This would have accomplished two things: 1) Given Doc the chance to make things right 2) Inform Doc of the employee claiming to be a manager. To say Dr. Shackelford has horrid staff and product is just plain ignorant. You never stated what you ordered beyond 'lenses'. There are many types of 'lenses' available and he has different vendors/labs to go through for them. The scratches may not have been your fault from misuse, but chances are Dr. Shackelford never knew of your problem. With that in mind, to put out a bad vibe online about someone & their business because one of their employees makes a bad decision just isn't fair. Especially since you never went back in to talk with anybody, you just decided to handle it over the phone... where they couldn't see the scratches. Doesn't seem smart. Myra was not a manager and no longer works there fyi. Pros: Dr. Shackelford: Personal service when given the chance. Cons: Glasses are expensive no matter where you go! more

I purchased lenses with scratch protection. Soon after (and I was not hard on them) I had scratches. I have NEVER had this happen with the lenses I get at Eye Masters. I called, was told it was basically my problem and they would be happy to replace them if I paid 90.00 and waited ten days. I went to Eye Masters, had my new lenses in an hour, with a one year protection plan that replaces the lenses should scratches appear, and was charged 73.00. The manager (or she claimed to be) Myra, was quite rude and unhelpful. They DO NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT. I don't know where they are getting the lenses from since it takes 7-10 days but they are horrible lenses. I have never had some scratch this fast, and suspect I was charged for the scratch protection, they pocketed the money, and it was never applied. I can't confirm this, however there really is no other explanation. It comes down to this...DO NOT GO TO SHACKELFORD FAMILY EYECARE. Horrid staff and product. Pros: Not one pro about this place Cons: Cheap product, they don't stand by it either (who could) more
