I've had the lunch buffet twice, loved it both times, and suffered no ill effects. I can't vouch for the authenticity of the food. Is it ""genuine"" Polish fare? Can't say - I'm Irish. What I can say is that the service has been nothing but first rate -- the staff have been courteous, attentive without hovering, and prompt about clearing dishes and refilling cups and glasses. As far as what goes on in the back or in the basement -- without the evidence coming to my attention, I'll continue to take my chances; most restaurants have aspects I wouldn't want to know about. The atmosphere is definitely Old World, and the cooking is, too. It's not healthy, but neither is a lot of restaurant food. But if you like that sort of cuisine -- heavy, lots of cream, sausage, starches, and oil -- it's very good, and that's why I eat there. There's a salad bar for the more health conscious. For what it is, I think it's great -- sadly, the same cannot be said for the neighborhood -- and if I lived closer, I'd be a regular.
