My dog is 10 years old and we've been going to 7 Hills since we adopted her from the Denver Dumb Friends League at 6months old. They have always done a good job for us, in terms of taking good care of our dog and explaining costs ahead of time. We've been to several different vets there and I have always felt they do a thorough job examining her. My only issue is they seem a little expensive to me. Sometimes feel like I should check other places to compare prices - but they are literally a half-mile away from my house, so the convenience and good service we've received so far makes it hard to think of looking around. All in all I have been satisfied with 7 Hills. more

We've been going here for a few years now. They are STUPID EXPENSIVE. At lease double other vets. Kitten nail clipping $18, Chip $70.... Ive found places with great reviews, that are closer to me that clip for $6 and chip for $30.... 7 Hills are Gangstas. more

Go somewhere else. My dog was having seizures - he had never had a seizure before. Although he was 10 years old, he was in excellent health like a 6 year old. The doctor was not confident in her abilities, she did not speak confidently about a diagnosis other than stating the obvious. She was unable to offer potential solutions or give me any ideas . This was an emergency (on a Sunday) and my vet was in Arizona (were I just moved from). After speaking with my vet on Monday, she said they should have taken blood to find out the cause and then offered solutions based on what was found. Further, I agreed to have my dog put under to stop the seizures. My vet said they should have waited a day to recover from anesthesia and to determine my dog's status - the doctor at Seven Hills never told me that. They let me make a decision after 1 hour - my poor dog looked awful and like he was in terrible pain. As the other writer noted, the costs were super expensive. The doctor/staff guestimated on costs, they weren't even able to accurately estimate the costs - the doctor first said the anesthesia was $250 and then raised it to $500. From a critical care/emergency perspective, they don't know what they are doing. Who operates this way? more

Long-time customers 6/16/2011

My family has been going to 7 Hills for 20+years. We've had numerous dogs and cats cared for there. The staff has been fantastic, and very caring, especially when we had to euthanize one of our animals. My friend had a bad experience there and left, but I've been there probably 50 times or more and they've always been great. Seven Hills is TOO expensive, and I've been tempted many times to leave and go somewhere closer and lower cost. My animals are part of my family, and so far, I keep going back. If money is an issue, I agree, there are other places that are a lot less expensive. If you can afford it, this is a great vet. more

EXTREMELY OVERPRICED - Lack of attention to detail. 1/14/2011

We had to rush our 10 month old puppy to Seven Hills on 1/12/11. We went there only because they were closer than our regular vet. We used to go to this vet clinic for our dogs, but found them to be extremely over-priced. We now go to Pets Vet of Arvada, which provides top notch care for nearly half the cost. Seven Hills? emergency vets ? Avac - took the time to provide us with an estimate of the cost to care for our puppy. She had to stay overnight on IVs, and we were told that she would be ?turned over to Seven Hills in the morning to continue the monitoring and care.? Of course, at the time, we did not understand that they were two separate providers, and that we would be getting additional charges from Seven Hills. Dr. Ley, the Seven Hills vet called the next morning and asked permission to run another blood test (which he promised he would not charge us for because he was ?not happy with the blood tests? run the night before). We agreed. When we picked up our puppy, more

The Funny House Call 7/27/2010

A few years ago my golden retriever, Anna, seemed to pass out. She was too large for me to carry to the car, so I called 7-Hills Vet and told them the situation. My house is 5 minutes from the vet so Dr. Ley and two of his medics jumped in his truck and drove to my house. It was so comical because their truck came screeching around the corner and they jumped out and were all running down the sidewalk with this little stretcher. Before they got to the house I discovered Anna had a toy lodged between her teeth and as soon as I popped it out she was fine! I asked Dr. Ley how much I owed him for a home visit and he said "Nothing. Just tell people about us." To this day I still laugh about this incident. I have taken all my animals to this clinic for the past 16 years. They've gotten very pricy over the years but they are worth it! more

Taken Advantage Of... 7/22/2010

The prices are astronomical. our 16 pound boston terrier, Knox just got neutered. He's 6 months old...again, only 16 lbs.... Our bill came out to $426.96!! Previously they had told us it would be around $70.00, but, the 70 dollar price was just for the surgical procedure, not the anesthesia, monitors, etc. I am very disappointed as they didn't even tell us what the cost would end up being. I don't think this should ever be allowed to happen. This was just a regular neutering procedure, there was nothing special involved. I am really very angry about this and won't be returning to them ever again, i don't care how friendly they are...taking advantage of first time pet owners is not ethical. Pros: friendly staff Cons: price more

State of the art care! 11/21/2009

My dog recently had a torn ACL in his knee. Dr Demey explained the nature of the injury and the state of the art way to repair it called a TPLO. He performed this (which is actually pretty amazing - they cut the bone to change the angle and then put a bone plate on it!). Bottom line is that my dog walked in on 3 legs and 2 months later he is back to his normal self! no limping, i have my puppy back! The state of the art care as well as all of the personal care Dr Demey gave us in durning the post op period was amazing. Cant recommend them enough for all of your pets needs!! more

Great Vet 4/12/2009

We used to take our animals to tender-care but when they wouldn't see my dog for free after their groomer nicked his skin I luckily found this place. It looks like a small facility from the outside, but the inside is very nice and appealing. All the staff and doctors we have come into contact with take the time to listen to your pet's problem, take the extra care needed and you even get to pay in the exam room, so no worries your dog will try to pry you from the counter when paying. We have 2 cats and 1 dog and they have all been cared for perfectly. The appointment times and short notice sick times are always available. The receptionists are very professional and sweet. I can't believe I hadn't found them sooner, considering they are less than 5 min from my house. This is how a veterinary clinic should be. Awesome staff, awesome interior designing (televisions to watch, water feature, rooms are comfortable and the place never has the hospital smell). Absolutely love this place. more

Great Caring Service! 2/16/2009

I love this Veterinary Practice. I actually was going to Mission Veijo which was recommended to me by Dumb Friends, but when my dog started having problems they couldn't give me answers. Seven Hills was highly recommended by my co-workers. Seven Hills saved my dogs life. Without their diligence in solving a hard case she wouldn't be here. They gave me options as far as cost goes, and all things considered, I would do it again for man's best friend! Pros: Friendly, caring, helpful. more

terrible experience 1/26/2009

First, the vet kept calling me Mom I am my childrens' mom, not my cats! Disgusting. Next they charged me for items without telling me first, then would not take them off the bill. Worst of all, after 1 1/2 hours spent on one cat, she would not give me medicine for the other cat cause she had not seen her. So, I'm supposed to pay another base of $56 for her to look at the other cat so that whatever bacteria they are sharing can be treated?! And let me mention, all of this is even before the report actually comes back on exactly what the cat might have. So, I just spent $150 on one cat to learn absolutely nothing. more

Not best for working retriever breeds. 1/7/2008

We took 3 dogs in to Seven Hills with mixed results. The first thing I found was that the vet that checked out our Chesapeake Bay Retrievers didn't seem to know much about the breed. She seemed most interested in pushing her choice for a brand/type of dog food even though I tried to explain to her that the food we used was one of the most popular brands on the Field Trial circuit. She seemed OK with our older dog. She gave us a referral to a different vet for an eye problem which turned out to be a tumor in her brain. Overall, I think they are probably not a bad clinic but I was turned off by the condescending tone our vet had when I tried to explain why we used the "performance" type of dog food over her recommended "large breed" formula. She also gave me a lecture about not bringing my dogs in enough since they were so old and hadn't been there before. I tried to explain that we had just moved from Oregon to Colorado and that is why we were new patients. She didn't seem to understand. more

Very Caring 7/6/2006

Dr. Ley has overseen my cats healthcare for 12 years. He is extremely caring and kind and if he is not available, his partners are equally compassionate. Dr. Ley was very helpful and comforting when we lost our oldest cat and has always taken my calls even when I simply wanted to discuss how to manage my other cat's depression over the loss of her companion. He is #1 in my book! Pros: Compassionate, caring, knowledgeable more

Great Animal Hospitals 11/14/2005

I recomend them highly . A very caring clinic and the staff is just wonderful. This vet is very knowldgeable and prompt service. Very up to date on medical treatment for your pet. more

Very kind to our cat 11/11/2005

The seven hills veterinary clinic has been very good to our animals. That are very caring and gentle with them even when they are not on their best behavior. There is also a 24 hour clinic that is attached that helps greatly when your animals is sick and it is late. I have found that both the regular veterinary and the 24 hour veterinary to be very reasonably priced and this has aloud exhalent continued care for my animals. more

good vet clinic 7/25/2005

this vet clinic is very good, they are super nice and friendly, and care about the pets, but they are terribly slow, your appointment times are always late and you wait at least 15-30 minutes each time. It is close to my house and for routine appointments, I will accept the extra 15 minutes. I hope they see this review, and get on the ball and work on their times!! PROS: good with pets CONS: cant make appointment times more
