While we agree the place needs a complete renovation, my husband and I have frequented this restaurant many times over the years and have always had an awesome experience. I feel bad that so many have experienced negative times. I just wonder why this restaurant is ALWAYS jammed packed.....makes you wonder doesn't it and no I don't work or know anyone at Scotch and Sirloin. Love their steaks! Yummmmmy more

worse than denny's 3/7/2010

i just want to add that i had a similar experience a few years back, minus the dress code problems. the bar was nice except they served month old baked potatoes and tried to pass them off as potato skins. thanks anyway. it is an insult to cracker barrel to compare the d?cor. this place looked like a dingy old cellar and smelled worse. we were seated in a small dining room, clearly reserved for those they don't know, and it smelled like raw sewage and some type of artificial orange scented spray cleaner that you would buy in a dollar store. i told the waitress that i didn't care for a drink but she tried to force a mai tai on me. they circle your table like vultures, then try to force drinks on you. my meat tasted like salad dressing marinated horse meat that my grandmother would have cooked in her twilight years when she couldn't even remember her own name. there were chunks of cottage cheese in the raspberry dressing, no tomatoes on the salad, the marinated mushrooms looked like they were a moth old, brown radishes, many of which were in the cottage cheese, finger prints on the butter, lots of brown lettuce, and just a filthy mess. somebody had poked their finger up through the bottom of the still frozen loaf of bread. the french silk pie looked like a lump of turd, and had clearly not been prepared properly. my wife had the pecan pie. it was clear that someone had picked many of the pecans off the top, probably the dipshit you encountered. my wife ordered a baileys coffee, but the idiot brought us a bayleaf coffee. my ""house"" coffee tasted like it had a bloody mary mix in it. we also got 2nd degree burns on our lips when they served the coffee with caramelized sugar on the rim of the glass. they neglected to allow it to cool. when we arrived, i thought i saw the entire staff standing out back smoking cigarettes, picking their noses, and some with their hands in their pants. we should have known then. the place was a free for all. we asked to speak with the owner and he wasn't there. it appeared as if he was never there based on the experience. instead they sent a short curly headed manager that we had watched do absolutely nothing, no work whatsoever, throughout our meal. Pros: saying good night as we left Cons: too many to list here, read on more

Worst dining experience in cny 2/15/2010

ok we had the worst dinner ever. Do not go to Scotch and Sirloin. It all started with the dress code. The website and sign on door both said no jeans. Therefore jenny and I assumed this was a really nice place. So we got dressed up in sport coat and tie. She wore a nice dress. We get there and 80% of the people were wearing jeans. I was so pissed. So we wait about 20 minutes after having reservations for 9 at night. Earliest we could get in. So we go to the bar which was pretty nice except for the 3 inches of peanut shells on the floor. Very extensive wine and scotch list. So we were pretty excited about what the dining roo looked like. We were called and walked through the doors and it was awful. I thought I was walking into a damn cracker barrel. people in there weren't only wearing jeans but baseball caps as well. I felt like a schmuck. White Italian silk coat, black slacks, dress shirt, and tie and i walk into the local diner. So I was just thinkin this dinner had better be fabulous. All of the waiters had scruffy beards and looked like idiots. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Not too bad. Then they said with our meal we get the salad bar. It was horrible. 3 dressings to choose from and crap was everywhere. The whole station was destroyed. I went back to my seat and ate my so called salad. We waited 1 hour after eating salad appetizers. our waiter came up to us and asked if we were going to salad bar. Itold him we ate an hour ago and this dipshit said oh then i will put your order in. I couldn't believe it. An hour before he asks if we were gonna eat. So he brings out my fist sized $24 steak and small side of mashed potatoes. I have had better steak at applebees. Tasted ok. Just ok. So all in all. $82 bill before tip feeling like a jack ass and just plain mad. So here is my forewarning DO NOT GO TO SCOTCH AND SIRLOIN on Erie blvd. Pros: not a single one Cons: he whole experience more

GREAT SEAFOOD! 6/3/2007

Really great seafood for those of us who are landlocked but cant quite bring ourselves to Red Lobster's version of mass marketed seafood. Pros: Lots of servers who are well versed in the menu and customer service~your needs are always met. Cons: Expensive but a nice treat. The heavyset gentleman bartender is not polite~ever. ALWAYS at least 30-45 minutes unless you have a reservation. more
