Schoolkids Records

I don't buy CDs that often in the world of itunes. When i do Ilike to support the smaller local music stores this being one of them. the staff here has always been very helpful in finsding the items that I am looking for. they have a fairly good collection of CDs for such a small store as well, I'm always impressed with what i can find in here. more

This schoolkids is one of my favorites simply because of the number of actual records they get. In an age of digital music, its very rare to get the newest releases on record, and schoolkids most of the time will get them. the staff here is usually good about making suggestions for new music to listen to. They also have a box o free stuff next to the door where you can get free posters and promo cds. more

Schoolkids Records is the definitive place to go in Raleigh for music. They carry an enormous selection and if they don't have it, they'll get it for you. The staff is ridiculously knowledgeable about the music they sell, music in general, and the local music scene. Some local venues make concert tickets available through Schoolkids. more

Schoolkids Records is my favorite record store in Raleigh. They carry a wide variety of music (rock, hip-hop/rap/r&b, jazz, country, among other genres), they have a much wider selection of different artists than a more mainstream/corporate retailer, and if they don’t have a particular title in stock, they’ll order it and get it to you quickly. Schoolkids is also a great place to pick up local and regional releases. The staff is friendly and knows about music (they seems to know release dates like their own birthdays), and when you walk into the front door, there’s almost always a staff pick playing over the speakers. They also sell new and used vinyl, used CDs, and new and used DVDs. The prices are great, and they also sell tickets to some local shows (usually select Cat’s Cradle and Kings shows). more
