My buddy and I were looking to go to a fancy dinner, so we dressed up nicely and ran out the door and happened to drive by the Hilltop Bistro. When we did not order alcoholic drinks to begin our dinner with, we were completely ignored the rest of the evening. Just because we look young and "unable to tip well" does NOT mean we are too young to tip well for good service. We tipped more than we thought it was worth, 10% just to be nice. It was not good service, and all the other costomers when we were there were really snooty too, though I can't blame the restaurant for that one. I just didn't have a good experience there, maybe you will if you order lots of alcohol and decorate your dress with fifty dollar bills. This place exceeded any prior expectations I had in every way. The salmon had a wonderful flavor, and its preparation and presentation were exquisite. My husband loved his penne pasta. The service was excellent- our waiter was very attentive and personable. Overall the experience was incredibly charming. The next time we are in Golden we will definitely be back! This used to be a great place for a romantic dinner with great food. The place now is to be avoided at all cost. The menu is unappealing. The pork felt like a rock, it must have been reheated from lunch. The risotto tasted like pre-cooked Uncle Ben's drowned in Velveeta. The angel hair pasta with shrimp was not edible, and the server didn't even bother to ask why I had barely touched it. The zin was probably from the same bottle of the prior reviewer. Do not order the sesame scallops. They are battered and disguise the fact that you maybe get 2 full scallops and then a few battered scallop pieces. The pan seared noodls were worthless. For $20, this meal just needs to be removed from the menu. Also, do not order the Zinfadel. It had turned. Ask how long the bottle of wine has been opened before ordering. The chef has very poor manners and little if any customer service skills. The menu itself is fine if you like cream. Otherwise, the menu is dull and certainly not healty. The house salad is good. Hilltop Bistro is the perfect place to take your loved one for the ultimate romantic dining experience. I took my girlfriend there for her birthday and she loved it. We started off with the coconut seared scallops, which were presented in sesame tuile cones and looked as good as they tasted. Next i ordered the Ceaser Salad. I usually can get a sense of a restraunt based upon the ceaser salad, and the Hilltop Ceaser was one of the best i've ever had. My Girlfriend had the house salad, a concotion of apples, tomatoes, salad greens and a ricotta vinegrette. She finished the salad so fast i didn't have a chance to try it. For my entree, i ordered the Pork Loin, wich came with creamy German noodles and potatoes and homemade apple sauce. The Pork Loin was delicious, although a little bit dry. My lady ordered the Penne Pasta with sausage, witch turned out to be a huge serving. It was very delicous. When we were stuffed to the brim, our waiter brought out a chocolate bread pudding with a candle in it. My girlfriend said this was a dinner she would never forget. My husband and I recently ate at Hilltop Bistro. I had the miso salmon which was excellent, but I must say the tempura green beans that came with it were my favorite part. The green beans were fried in light batter and drizzled with a delicious soy-tasting sauce. At the waiters reccomendation my husband ordered the seafood stew. This interesting dish came with salmon, mussels, scallop, shrimp and noodles in a tomato broth. To my delight, the portion was more than generous (which allowed me to share). The waitstaff were very friendly and attentive. Our waiter particularly, seemed to have an excellent knowledge of the wines offered and was patient in answering all of our questions. For dessert we enjoyed the chocolate bread pudding. Not only was the taste sensational, but the presentation was beautiful. As the waiter brought it to our table other diners turned to stare and ask what it was. I am surprised and sorry that I was so completely unimpressed with Hilltop Bistro. Sonya is always such a pleasure to work with. I started using her with my children's dances and have used them for many other events and love how long the flowers last. The flower arrangers have a artisitic touch, and they deliver. more

I have been getting flowers from this company for years and have never been disappointed. The store is small and in a strip mart, but they deliver and they are always pretty. From prom corsages to huge arrangements you will not be disappointed and their prices are very competitive. more

I went there for dinnner twice, once with a date and once with a group of friends. Service was excellent, food was awesome, atmospshere was great. The cooking was creative. Not to mention they have a nice deck for summer hang out. Pros: Reasonable pricing, It is in Golden, Great atmosphere more

This is a place I'd heard so much about and had looked forward to trying. It was disapointing on so many levels. The food did not stand out. Plastic popcorn containers filled with I don't know what popcorn flavor greeted us as a prelude to what was to come. My soup was luke warm. I asked for the samon with no butter, and I got it with butter. Since it took so long to get I just settled for it. The tempura I had was so tough I had to cut it with a knife over and over. The pomegranite crepes came with no pomegranite. The icetea was weak. The menu's were left on the table during the entire lunch. Elevator music played in the backround during the Christmas season.
