I read some of the reviews that stated that Paley is too expensive or that no one paid attention to their children... rubbish! Pros: Tons of activities

Outstanding Child Care Center 6/11/2009

Both of my daughters are disabled. Katie has unilateral deafness and Robyn autism. The decision to send them to preschool was a frightening one, as they had been under the comforting shelter of early intervention since the time they were just a year and a half old, and all of it took place in our home. The concept of having my children away from me was terrifying, but I had nieces and even friends who had attended Paley Early Learning Center as kids and never heard anything but positive reviews. Pros: Staff, facility, director more

nurturing & safe environment 6/11/2009

""We enrolled Johnny when he was an infant and this year he is graduating kindergarten. Choosing Paley was one of the best decisions my husband and I have ever made because Johnny has grown into a happy child that loves school. He has come to know everyone and enjoys all of the activities that Paley has to offer. more

Paley is like a second home 6/11/2009

Lucas started at Paley at nine months of age, and Logan and Dylan even earlier, as I needed to return to work. As a first time mother, I will never forget how nervous I was dropping Lucas off on his first day, and how loving and welcome the infant room teachers were to him. How happy and relieved I was a few years later to have many of those same faces welcoming Logan and Dylan to the same room. In that first year, I must have called the director, Sandy, personally twenty times, with first time mom questions and concerns, and Sandy, time and time again, took the time to talk me through so many things. more

""TOO EXPENSIVE"" 9/16/2008

When my older daugther started kindergarten 4 years ago, the price of after-care was reasonable, $52 per week for 4 days care, or $13 per day. Okay, now 4 years later, the price nearly doubled to $25.00 per day. This is only for a max of 3 hours per day! I now have two in school, which would amount to my paying close to $200 per week (if you account for a minuscule sibling discount). Thankfully, I found another REASONABLY PRICED after-care program whose staff picks up the children from school, than takes then back to their day-care facility in a van. The price, including transportation and all - $15. It is a shame that I had no choice but to pull my kids from Paley's program just because of the price. I loved the convenience of Paley having a site located right in the school, and a staff who worked very well with the kids. Time each day was alloted to homework, activities, reading, etc. It is just WAY too much money, and not fair to working middle class parents who pay out of pocket for after-care. more

worst place to send your child(ren) 1/27/2008

The people dont watch the kids as well as they should, my daughter came home with bite marks and scratches. I'd expect better care for my child for the price I pay. The people who are in the front are ignorant and think they can ""p0op through feathers"". But if you want help I'd suggest asking for Mary Lamb Pros: Pool and Gym Cons: staff more

great education 10/29/2007

My family has been at Paley for more than 10 years. I have tried other daycares. What a mistake. I am so glad we found Paley. My oldest child is 14. He spent pre-school and kindergarten at Paley as well as after school. I also have a 7 year old that has been there since 12 weeks old. We were very lucky to find Paley. My mentally gifted children are very hard to educationally stimulate. Paley was the perfect place for them. They were nurtured, cared for and taught as the individuals that they are. They recognize that no two children even siblings are same. The kids even had some of the same teacher's, but they treated each child as the unique person that they are. Kids at Paley get educational stimulation from the curriculm and from each other. You can walk into any classroom at anytime and see kids having a good time and learning. These kids aren't just learning their ABC's, they are learning how to interact and how to read and write without even realizing that they are learning. They think they are just having fun. You can come in and see a teacher reading a story and the kids reading back to her. I am so happy I found Paley. My kids were interested, interactive, confident and safe. My youngest child is in the afterschool program now. He loves it. He wants to stay until the very last minute everyday. I suggest you look into Paley for good educational daycare starting at 12 weeks old. Be a part of the program. Go to the programs, join the PTA.An involved family is a happy family. My oldest son met his best friend on his 1st day at Paley when he was 3 1/2. They are 14 now and still best friends. I know good day care isn't cheap, but believe me Paley isn't a baby sitting service. It's warm, it's loving and it's a wonderful foundation for a long educational experience. Pros: staff, commitment to learning more

Exceptional Childcare 10/29/2007

What a wonderful facility!! My children have attended this location for 4+ years and I have only good things to say. My older child is now in first grade but when she started kindergarten she shone above the other students in her class due to the preschool and pre-k curriculum she was taught at Paley. I was also thrilled to learn that Paley staffers provided the aftercare at her new school...at no cost!!! Not only are the staff members courteous and professional to the parents but they interact extremely well with the children. I have heard that people consider their fees on the high end but considering that those fees include an AM snack, a balanced lunch, PM snack and an abundance of activities (including swimming in the summer) I find it well worth it! I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for quality care. more

Greed driven day care...Buyer Beware!! 9/10/2007

Upon entering into this day care facility, you will find that it is filled with more offices for staff, directors and administration than it has classrooms. Could possibly be the reason why they want to charge incredible fees in the first place. They are or were affiliated with some of the local public schools to provide on site after care and want to charge much more money than any other day care facility in the area. After care for 3 hours only is almost 200 per week for 2 children. (Moms with growing families you don't get much of a discount at all from these people.) When your childeren are eligible for grade school, they want full tuition for their 3 hour care, which is provided by, you got it college kids!! They also charge registration fees(which is double of your first week of payment) and say when you are through with the facility they will return your money. This is a huge lie, when you call, they convenietly increase the prices on that month and you walk away without a cent. They also request that you give them a non-refundable deposit if you plan to use the aftercare for the following school season in April. Ok, fair enough, only problem is they want 4 months notice and when it is one month before school begins, they raise prices by 47.5%, giving you only a few weeks to find something affordable. How many private schools do you know that charge $800 per month and only have your kids for 3 hrs. NONE!!! If you do find ample care they won't reimburse you and they have no justification as to why the prices took such a huge leap in the first place. When you call to speak to them, they give you excuses and try to put you on a scholarship that is still more than you paid the previous year. These people are filled with attitude too. They give you snide remarks and make you feel like you are worthless because you want your deposit back . Should be called Greedy care instead of After Care...Go Else where Please. Save your money and Energy!! Pros: they use the school gym Cons: They make you pay even more money when the school is closed and for holidays when the schoo isn't in session. more
