Best

This mostly in response to Earl E. Retirement (must be nice). I?m a member, with a child in swim lessons, and I know the Club did not dismiss this instructor w/out just cause. I...

Worst

Beautiful but small. The dues aren't cheap so fresh towels and classes such as yoga should be included in the base monthly fee but they're not. The classes are also very limited...

Expensive club with sub bar service 6/10/2011

run down club but still charges a high membership / service fee. more

Club Is Disappointing 1/7/2011

Having been a member for almost five years, I have seen the decline of the Sammamish club in process. The ceiling leaks (and buckets are put out to catch the drips) in the weight room, the cardio equipment is old and falling apart, the pool's heater is often not working... just to name a few problems. more

Sammamish Club Was Great 9/1/2010

* I confirm that I do NOT have any unethical incentive to give this club a high rating. I am not employed or related to anyone employed at the club, and have no financial interests in the club. I have no close or long term friendships with anyone employed at the club, and am not receiving any financial incentive to write a review! more

Club Feels like Family 4/16/2010

This mostly in response to Earl E. Retirement (must be nice). I?m a member, with a child in swim lessons, and I know the Club did not dismiss this instructor w/out just cause. It was a bad time for the management. Why sign a contract for a whole health club for just ONE instructor? What if she had moved ? would you blame the club? You're just whining because YOU made the mistake! We?re month to month, we?ve been happy and the club staff just feels like family. I've been to Gold?s and read their contracts. The best flexibility is defintely at Sammamish. Pros: Small, personable staff, nice people Cons: Not open 24 hours? more

Horrible Experience 1/15/2010

We could not have been more disappointed in our experience. We joined because they had an amazing swimming instructor, and the only way to have lessons with this instructor was to join the club. We asked if we could just do swimming lessons, but they said to enroll we had to pay ~$100/month for a club, even though we told them we would not use it. Since there was no option, we joined. Before our contract ended, they fired our swimming instructor and replaced her with some teen aged kid in the middle of our paid session. We told them we were not interested in the new instructor, and that that we wanted a refund for the remaining lesson, and that we wanted to cancel our membership. Their response was that we would need to pay them another $250, based on the fact that we had several months remaining on our contract. Here's the email response (edited to remove names): ""When someone joins the Sammamish Club we assume that they are going to taking part in the full membership experience. It is unfortunate that a choice has been made to discontinue (your) membership however, when (you) signed on to the Club (you) selected a preferred membership. If (you) had selected a regular month-month membership then the termination would be a simple 30 day notice. I am not certain why (you) selected this type of membership but maybe more consideration should have been given to the agreement? Hmmmmm, let me think about that. If only we had the insight to know you were going to fire the instructor we joined the club for, we never would have made such a dumb decision. This was quite an expensive lesson for us, and I'd say beware in dealing with the Sammamish Club. Cons: Don't sign the contract more

Unreasonable pool policy for children and no maintenance to be found in the locker rooms 9/11/2006

Sammamish Club has a policy against kids using swimming equipments unless you sign up for their classes. Their policy is arbitrary and discriminatory at many times. Some of their Pros: Issaquah location Cons: everything including their service attitude more

Great Customer Service and Very Private 7/18/2006

If you live in or around Issaquah and you are looking for affordable luxury, then you might want to look into this club. No, I have no stakes in ownership. Yes, it is expensive but if I wanted to pay $40 a month, I would go to Ballys or 24HR fitness. Sammamish Club is for those who want a private club with Indoor Tennis, Weights, great Staff and a really good family atmosphere. The club charges $100 a month as a basic fee. The towels are always clean, which is a great thing and the fact that we pay for the cleaning service, means that we expect clean. Yes, the club has some broken lockers but they are not shody, its the sophisticated locks that do not work. Parking is great around the club. Pros: Great Staff, Parking, Tennis Cons: Distance from Downtown Seattle, Early close on Weekends. more

Improperly maintained, nickel and dimed to death 11/2/2005

Many lockers don't work, significant deterioration in the pool area and sauna, steam rooms out of service for significant stretches, water fixtures in men's locker room nearly all broken, club closes too early, especially on weekends, club demands $12/month to use towels while the high membership fees should cover this. Explaination provided (by staff!) was that members steal towels. Pros: good equipment, nice staff, attractive setting Cons: poor maintenence, cheap surcharges, early hours more

Not worth the money 7/18/2002

Beautiful but small. The dues aren't cheap so fresh towels and classes such as yoga should be included in the base monthly fee but they're not. The classes are also very limited for the after work crowd. The cardio and weight areas are also small. Pros: Spa, Beautiful Cons: Expensive, Small more
