Service was great, food was delicious..especially the clam chowder. The staff will make sure that your visit is more than what you expected. If not, just ask or tell you server. They will make it right! Pros: Short waits, Valet Service, Great Brunch more

Not worth it! 8/26/2003

The service was not as good as we expected. It was slow and we felt ignored. The food was okay, not great. They still have some work to do to bring this place up to snuff. The new chef has made some difference but it's still Salty's of old. more

Busy for a reason. 8/2/2003

When you walk into Salty's, it is all about friendliness. As you are led to your seat, you are overwhelmed by the view. There are not enough good things to say about the food. The salmon is fresh, not farm raised. The service is beyond friendly to the point of being part of your family. Not only is the service great, but the servers are genuinely knowledgeable about and honest about the menu. The new chef has made a HUGE difference. We will definate be back. Pros: Great food, Great service, Unbelievable view Cons: Very busy more

Amazing!!! 6/23/2003

I am from chicago and this is by far one of the best restaurants i have ever been to. The food was very very tasty, the view was great and our server was very friendly. I cant wait to go here again when i visit oregon. Pros: food, service, view more

Only one experience 5/23/2003

The Salmon Caesar salad is highly recommended. The salmon had a crisp sweet coating that's just delicious, but the salad could have been more favorable. Also tried the Seafood Chowder which was better than average, they offer a dash of cream sherry which was nice. Service was great during lunch, but had to wait awhile for a menu. An overall good experience. Pros: Salmon Caesar salad more

Salty's not so salty 1/13/2003

Go to Salty's for a decent meal at a great atmosphere, but expect a crowded situations during the usual busy hours and weekends. The view, the decor, and ambience is what brings in the folks, not the morsels they serve on the plate, in my opinion. All the dishes appeared as if they were hurried, lacking care and detail. Grilled salmon was oily and bland, Sauteed cod was way overcooked and too hard and dried out. We had to fill up on bread, vegetables and dessert. The service can be pretty hurried at times, but they were courteous. Pros: great view, decor & ambience Cons: mediocre food, hurried service more

Best View Seafood in Portland 12/13/2002

Salty's has been a favorite of ours for many years. Romantic dinners with gourmet seafood for her and great steak for me! The cedar planked salmon was the best my wife has ever had! Go there for the view, the food AND the service. Pros: Great View, Great Seafood, Great Service more

Not worth the money 10/29/2002

Noisy. Food portions were small and not good. Very poor service. We were almost ignored, seated at the worst table, and were treated like trash. All because we were older than the ""in,"" party crowd. Twenty-one year old wannabe-yuppies might enjoy such a place, but serious diners wouldn't. Pros: on the river Cons: bad service, noisy, parking nightmare more

Not worth the trip 10/22/2002

I was VERY disappointed in Salty's. I had heard a few good things from people so thought I would try them. I took my mother there for her 80th Birthday and regret it to this day! The food was dull, the service was poor at best, and the prices were not in line with the product provided. Don't waste your money. Pros: View Cons: Price, Food, Service more

Good to be on the water 10/6/2002

I enjoyed Salty's very much for atmosphere and view. The food was above average, no complaints, but nothing overly special. Pros: Good atmosphere more

What a view 8/29/2002

Magnificent 8/7/2002

We were there for our anniversary and it was romantic, the view was magnificent and the food even better. Pros: great food, beautiful view, great service Cons: a little noisy more
