I've had April do my hair on and off over the last 20 years- wow! She is always interested in my needs and when I leave I feel great. My hair is curly and she always does wonders with it. I get lots of compliments and will return again. I am a hairdresser also, so I am hard to please and she fits the bill every time.\r thanks April- you rock!!!!! I won a makeover and was very excited as it would be nice to try something new. The stylist found a picture of a cute style to try and showed me a color that also looked like a nice brown with subtle auburn under-tones. Had my hair turned out like the picture and like the color sample I would not be writing this. But, when I got home my 5 year old said, ""Mommy, I liked your hair the other way. I wish you hadn't gone there. All of you looks very pretty except your head!"" You see, my hair turned out fire engine red and the cut was an uneven mess. Also, my scalp burned from the color solution. As requested I emailed the stylist right away to let her know the family consensus. She contacted me the next morning and said another stylist would contact me to work things out. There was nothing that could be done for the cut, but I had really hoped they would fix the color. I did receive a call and the stylist sounded very friendly but she said she would have to charge almost full price to fix the problems. Whether the original work was done for free or for a fee, I would have thought a salon would stand behind their work and offer to fix it gratis. I was so disappointed. My husband did not want me to go back so I got it fixed elsewhere. I will not go back or recommend Salon au Rouge. Cute salon, friendly people, but no satisfaction guaranteed. Chicgurl needs to grow up and get over themselfs. They are the only person who did not like the salon. I have been here about a zillion times and and each time I go I fall in love with it more and more. I know the owners and asked them about Chicgurls reviews they didnt go into details but they told me that basically the person wanted to dye their hair from really dark to really blonde. The stylist recomended against it but they would not listen. Obviously it turned out bad and now this chick is writting bad reviews left and right. I am 62 years old and have been going to hair stylists for years. This is the first time I have ever found someone who actually listens to ME about how I want my hair. I love what she does with my hair. She takes what I want and makes it better. I drive all the way from Wilsonville to get my hair styled with Abbie. April has been cutting and coloring my hair for at least 12 years. She listens to my ideas and often has many good suggestions for me, too. She knows what will work, and I totally trust her judgment. Eden has also cut my hair and has done an excellent job. I have received other services like waxing and pedicures, and I have never been disappointed. My hairstylist moved out of state so I needed someone new. I needed a change with my hair and it was my first visit. I was nervous so I brought my closest girlfriends along. They were TOTALLY accomodating to my friends and my list of what I did and didn't want with my hair. They took it all in and came up with some ideas and made sure I was ok with it. I don't do change well and this was big and I LOVE my hair!! I am so thrilled to find a new place and already have friends that want to switch too! Pros: Friendly, comfortable, not pushy, great variety of ideas Cons: not close enough to my house!! more

My experience at Salon au Rouge was excellent. While waiting for my stylist (Abbie), everyone working was extremely courteous and friendly even though I had never met most of them. The shop is quaint and very cute and a great location. Abbie has been doing my hair for over two years and is the absolute best!!! She always makes sure you are ready for any style or color changes and won't do anything that she thinks may harm your hair. She also styled all of the bridesmaids and maid of honor at my daughter's wedding recently. She knows what will look good on certain people and I absolutely respect her opinion. I recently learned about Salon au Rouge from my sister. It came highly recommended and I had a wonderful experience today. I wanted something fun and fresh for fall and got exactly that. I now have the most beautiful espresso brown color with copper highlights and a very ""sassy"" new cut! It is soft, shiny and looks healthier than it has in years. I was treated very well and received great service for a reasonable price. I have extremely thick hair and have not been able to find a stylist who can texturize and thin my hair while keeping it blended and stylish. Abbie was my stylist today and she was not afraid to give her professional opinion on both style and color. It is absolutely perfect and I could not be happier. I will definitely be back. Last week I went to go get an essential manicure with Stephanie, and it was fantastic! The eye catching red nail polish she helped me choose caught many eyes at the Phantom of the Opera play I went to that evening! I didn't even recognize my own nails after they were made up! Stephanie is an amazing nail technician who I will MOST DEFINITELY continue to go to. My experience with Stephanie at Salon Au Rouge was very relaxing, as well as a lot of fun; her personality was a joy to be around. \r \r Thanks Salon Au Rouge!! I have never experienced anything that the previous person is complaining about. April is my regular stylist, since the conception of the salon. When April is not available, I would only trust ABBIE to color and/or cut my hair. When I first started going to the salon, my hair was very damaged from over the counter hair coloring and having my hair straightened chemically. They advised me not to use permanent hair color, but instead brighten my hair up with semi-permanent color. Their advised was a God send, my hair now is no longer damaged and the color maintenence is about every 2 months. They would have done permanent color if I had really wanted it, but instead they made me realize that I had been damaging my own hair, ALL BY MYSELF. It makes me wonder what the previous person had been doing to her hair before she walked into the salon, and what demands were made, even though I am sure she was advised against it. The brush thing actually makes sense to me. Most people realized that if you have damaged hair anything with tight bristle's will damage or break the hair even more. You need to use a wide tooth comb, or a hair brush with single bristle's all in a row. I have never been treated unfairly or had shoddy work done on my hair, eyebrows and with my pedicures. This is a wonderful place that puts the client first, ALWAYS. Pros: The client is always right, and always comes first Cons: NOTHING more

I found this salon on craigslist i was extra excited because they advertise makeover mondays...i searched them here on city search and also on there myspace page...i felt like i did my research when i went in my intial consult wasn't what i was used to the stylist didnt give any opinion and during the 7hr color and cut didnt give me any insight of what she was doing to my hair....she bleached the bottom half and had me sit under the dryer...my hair started smoking and started breaking off in chunks she then passed me off to the owner who was nice and assured me my hair looked great that couldnt of been further than the truth i got home and noticed that it was a NASTY brown/blonde color..the hair cut was butchered w/ such fried ends i had to go to a real salon to repair what damage was done i still cant even imagine how i was allowed to walk out of there looking the way i did i lost over 6 inches of healthy hair...I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS SALON TO ANYONE..ESPECIALLY NOT THE STYLIST ABBIE...BEWARE THE ADVERTISING IS A LIE AND DOESNT GIVE YOU THE FULL SCOOP....MAKE ME WONDER IF THERE GUYS WRITE THERE OWN REVIEWS ON CITYSEARCH... Salon au Rouge although a relatively new salon, is not light on experience or customer service. I've been using April for 8 years now. I have the most difficult fine, whispy, easily damaged hair to work with. She has colored and cut my hair and taken me through some wonderful transitions through the years. I was recently in and received the inspiration to take ""my bob"" up a notch. I'm loving it. I've used a couple of the other stylists as well, when I hadn't booked an appointment in time to get April when needed. I've been happy with each stylist and thankful they carefully listened to my needs and worked to get me the cut I desired. I've watched April build this Salon from the ground up and carefully staff with the ""right talent"".\r So, April, I just wanted to say... your great! I'm happry to call you my stylist and friend. more

Salon au rouge was a joke the worst experience ever, they dont do test strands before they color your hair my hair actually melted off and smoked....i then had over 4 inches cut to retrieve what was left i cant touch or brush my hair for days..according to the owner i shouldnt be brushing my hair w/ a brush anyways because its color treated...ive been to many salons and have colored my hair since i was 16 never before was i told to not use a brush after visiting a salon....this place was below a beauty school dont go there WARNING they have no idea what there doing..... I won a free makeover on the FISH radio station and even though I wasn't paying for the service they treated me with great respect. I allowed them to use thier vision and do as they wished. If you lok on their website you can see the before and after photos. I love the cut, the color is amazing (Darker thean I have ever ventured) and they even showed me (a novice) how to correctly apply my makeup to make it look natural. It was a wonderful experience and their shop is so cute and you instantly relax when you walk in. Pros: Highly skilled staff, great atmosphere, Friendly and kind Cons: I couln't find even one more

I'd never had a manicure before, but with my newly restyled engagement ring on my finger, it was time to indulge. I booked the Spa Manicure with Stephanie and she was incredible! She was very personable and did a beautiful job on my French tips. She used a soft white (instead of bright white) and super pale pink polish. My nails look exactly as I had imagined; very natural and classy. Stephanie takes great pride in her work and it shows. Pros: Simple online appointment booking, amazing service Cons: None! more

After reading the great reviews on CitySearch, I decided to try Salon au Rouge. I scheduled an appointment with Erin and she was awesome! She listened to the issues I was having with my hair that had become too blonde and too razored from a different salon. It wasn't working for my hair type anymore and she was easily able to fix it. She took her time, always made sure I was comfortable and was a lot of fun! They were able to get me in same day and had a very nice, relaxing environment. I have found my new stylist and I will be back to see Erin for sure!! Thank you! more

I walked in the door's of salon au rouge last week upon a referal for caitlyn by one of my good friend's. I LOVED the salon and I was treated so well, Caitlyn was so nice, and she really listened to what I wanted to do with my hair. I was so impressed with the staff at Salon au rouge, people kept asking if I wanted more coffee, water etc. I am for sure coming back to Caitlyn, she has a new client! Salon au Rouge is the cutest little salon, and the customer service is outstanding! The decor is beautiful, and is so much more inviting than any of the large salon chains. I had Erin cut my hair and she was AMAZING. I think that on their website it says that she is their newest stylist, but don't let that throw you! She listens to every word you say, and is so sweet and easy to talk to. She managed to give me the perfect cut, and made sure that I liked everything she was doing along the way. She never tried to push any products, but also let me know what she was putting in my hair. The parking lot is rather small, but there is a ton of surrounding parking. Also, the salon is extremely easy to find! You won't be disappointed if you visit Erin at Salon au Rouge! Pros: Pleasant environment, excellent customer service, great value, easy to find.
