Judy is such a great stylist! She has been coloring my hair for YEARS now - turning it a deep black to a golden blonde! This takes a lot of patience & care. Judy makes sure to explain all of my options & each step that she's taking to process my hair. She also does great haircuts & suggests products that are affordable & can last awhile. This is why i think she's the BEST!!! :D more

Alix did such a wonderful job on my hair. I have been to several upscale salons and paid and arm and a leg for thier services. Alix is the only stylist who does a great job and I paid 1.2 the price!! Thank you Alix!! I will definitely be returing. more

After a great experience with Shelby doing an eyebrow wax & color, I decided to give their hairstyist a try after mine has moved across the country. Stopped in a week before, chatted with the receptionist, showed her the color combination my stylist used & she said no problem it was an easy formula to duplicate. Took a card, checked out the reviews and called back a few days later. Left a message with my full name, phone numbers, what I was looking for - a 2 minute long message with details since I don't have time in the middle of the work day to make calls. It took 3 phone calls to get this settled. I should have went with my gut at that time and cancelled the appointment. Appointment day comes, I show Judy the formula and measurements and then I hear, well, we don't exactly have that, lets grab the book and try to match it. :-( Okay, maybe it's expecting a little much, but if you're a colorist, please know how to work the different product colors to get the effect. Disappointed after the receptionist told me that was an easy one achieve. I asked for 1/2" off the ends as well. About 30 minutes into this appointment, I'm rocking a pretty good migraine. Unfortunately, I'm being asked, like, every, like, single, like question in the book. She's trying to figure out if she's seen me in there before. (I saw Shelby once, the other 3 times I've called, she hasn't been in), well then didn't she introduce us? I think that's how I know you. I get you're trying to build rapport, but relax a little. Then came the sales techniques, I heard all about the benefits of Clarisonic brushes, even after I told her I had one at home. I'm freaking out about this time and ready to ask to skip the haircut as well. I appreciate that Judy was thorough, but 2-1/2 hours for a solid all over color and cut that was more than 1/2"!!!! OMG! I wanted to cry. Not to mention, my hair isn't red, it's more brown, poop brown than red! She offered to fix the color, but I just wanted to get out the door. I was too scared to see what red she'd come up with. I can't stand the color, but don't have the money to spend to have someone else try to fix it! I may need to fly monthly to Florida to have my old stylist do my hair. ***crying*** more

My sister tried out Salon Zeka and raved about it (she saw Tara). So I had to give them a try. I had Caleh (pronounced "Kay-la"). She cut my hair exactly how I wanted it done. I asked for more textured layers for volume, and that's exactly what I got. I curl my long hair every day, in large waves, and Caleh did a great job restyling my hair. Instead of using a small curling iron (where most stylists end up giving me the 'high school prom' spiral curls), she used a technique I've never seen before. I have been going to Salon Zeka for about two years now. I will separate this review out into a few sections... Hair first - I have Nancy the owner cut my hair and Judy color it. I have complete confidence that when I sit in their chairs I will come out looking good. I don't worry ONE BIT that it will look crazy or I won't be able to style it when I'm done. I COMPLETELY TRUST THEM (I wrote that in all caps because it's true!)... Spa services next - Shelby is fantastic! The best prices in waxing anywhere... she's professional, the spa rooms have a great mood (ambiance) they're clean and as I said before the prices can't be beat. I go every four weeks to get my brows, legs, lip and underarms waxed (try the underarm wax - you will be amazed and won't ever shave again!!!). You will never go anywhere else! They also have a great referral program so you can get money off your visits for referring new clients... Salon Zeka is a great value and a nice place. I couldn't say enough great things about it! Tara is my hairdresser. She has been doing my hair for quite a while now and I have never had a bad experience. Tara is fun, she is smart and she is a very good hairdresser!!! I highly recommend Salon Zeka, if you communicate with the hairdresser what you want you will get what you want. I am sorry for the person who wrote the review that was negative. I have been going to Salon Zeka for many, many years now and absolutely LOVE IT! I've lived in Kenmore for 11 yrs and no other Salon in this area comes close. Everyone there is so nice and welcoming- it's fantastic! I've bounced around between a few different stylists there and have never once been dissatisfied! I walk out feeling GREAT with a huge smile on my face each time! All of the stylists there always keep up-to-date with the lastest hair trends and provide me with a fabulous look at a reasonable price! I can always count on the SALON ZEKA team! They are so meticulous and ask questions to ensure you get the right look for you and your lifestyle. I get so many compliments on my hair and always tell them the same thing- go visit SALON ZEKA! The nice thing is I get $10 off my hair service for each referral- so it doesn't get any better! And the spa downstairs is so COZY- you almost feel right at home! Most stylists are good in only one area. The great thing about Alix is that you don't have to make two seperate appointments with two different stylists. Alix does the best colors/foils and gives the greatest cuts! So, you get it all done in one shot. :) Pros: Alix does awesome colors as well as cuts! Cons: None more

I have been a client of Salon Zeka for over 13 years. Alix is the best hair colorerist I have used. She seems to be able to read my mind, even if I don't have the words. When I ask for her opinion, she is always honest, and right. Everyone at the Salon is nice, and makes you feel welcome and at home. I'am not going any where else, and would tell everyone this is the place to go. more

I've been going to Salon Zeka for over a year now and would definitely recommend it. My stylist is Judy and she is awesome! She really listens to what you want and delivers. She's also super sweet and friendly, therefore making it very hard to ever go to another stylist =) Salon is has a nice cozy atmosphere located in Kenmore. The city of Kenmore has so much to offer and best of all it hosts the best salon...Salon Zeka. This salon has friendly staff and cozy setting that welcomes you. I've been seeing my stylist, Judy for a over a year now and she has completely transformed my look. She takes extra care of her clients by listenting to what they want and understanding their needs. I recently moved to the Seattle area and was really worried about finding a new stylist that I could not only trust, but that I could afford! I actually used the City Search reviews to find my new Salon and Stylist. I could not be happier with Salon Zeka and my stylist, Judy. They are amazing! I first walked in the door of Salon Zeka as a girl who would pull my hair back in a pony tail 95% of the time. I did not have a real style and had no clue what to do with my hair. Judy really listened to my needs-I wanted a cute, hip style with minimal maintenance. I ended up with exactly that! Not only is the personnel great at Salon Zeka, but the atmosphere is cozy and personal. Everyone is always friendly and you feel genuinely appreciated as a customer. I was 'dumped' by my stylist and have been without one for years! I have bounced around from high profile salons to less desirable salons and was never satisfied with my look and the price I paid. My life changed when I found Judy at Salon Zeka! I was so impressed at my first visit when I received a consultation from her and the owner Nancy! They put together a look for me that made me look fabulous AND 10 years younger!! I got a sassy new haircut, all over color, and peakaboo highlights. I love my new look and I've been going back ever since! Judy is an incredible artist and she really listens and cares about your look and what you'd like to achieve. I've never been dissapointed and have recommended Judy and Salon Zeka to all my friends! Salon Zeka is truly a gem in Kenmore and I wish more people knew about them. They are an outstanding value but style and service are never compromised. I went from VERY long hair (low-middle back) to short with layers and bangs. I haven't "styled" my hair since...um, anyway, and on the first try with a hair dryer and a roller brush it looked great, AMAZING! And if I can make it look good all by myself on the first try, then THAT is a good haircut. Jenn even spent time, after making the cut even, to make it ACT even on my particular head, noticing cowlicks, where my hair was heavier, and cutting for the texture of my hair. I have been going to Salon Zeka to get my hair done for over a year. The service is excellent and the price can't be beat. I get an allover color and cut about every six weeks and occasionally add some highlights. I have never once been disappointed! The stylists are very friendly and really listen to what I want. My husband and two children also go to Salon Zeka and always look great. I recently realized that the Salon also offers a full spa menu... Mani's, Pedis, Facials, Waxing and Massage. The spa area is down stairs which takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the salon, so that you are really able to relax. I have had the Revitalight Facial treatment 3 times and my face looks fabulous, all of the little wrinkles and blemishes are gone! Salon Zeka may look like an average salon on the outside, but they are truly a diamond in the rough. It is great to be able to totally pamper myself without having to leave my home town. more
