Overpriced, color is uninspiring 4/9/2007

After spending close to $400 dollars, I left feeling as if nothing had been done. Service was great and the people were nice, but my hair was dull and the highlights nothing for the price. I've had my hair done by several top-notch salons and I honestly have never paid this much for such an "average" color. Marlyss did do a wonderful cut, but my coloring came to $300 and I was extremely upset. I even made mention of my dissappointment and was not even offered a re-do with another color specialist. I think for that price, you should walk out of a place feeling like a million dollars...I literally cannot tell the difference. There was no character, flair or uniqueness to the work done here. My hair looks blah and I am going to pay another $200 to have golden lights put in by someone who listens and knows color, placement, etc. Unimpressed, overpriced... more

LOVELY 4/9/2007

I was fortunate enough to have a very stylish friend of mine recommend Salon V to me upon moving to NYC. Since then, 3 more friends have started going there because of the relaxing atmosphere, hip staff & affordable prices. Great place in a great hood. Veronica Is the best!!!!!!!!!!!! 3/22/2007

Saturday i had my hair colored what was supposed to be a stawberry blonde. Needless to say, it did not look like it should have, and half the color washed out after my first wash!! I looked horrible. Not knowing what to do i went to a couple of places for a consultaion , after which they told me that at this point i cannot achieve the color that i wanted because it would involve stripping of my hair. Then i went to salon V and after the consultaion with Veronica i felt very comfortable that we were able to achieve the color that i wanted to have ( which was a golden blonde) . Voila!!!! Veronica was able to do just that! My hair has never looked to amazing in my life! i have gotten so many compliments. Also, being so happy with my results, i have sent in a friend of mine who has never colored her hair before and was a little nervous, and Veronica suggested the colors that would work for her and they went along and did it! She is extremely satisfied as well! Im so glad i found Veronica! From now on , my search is over!! THANK YOU! Pros: Great atmosphere, good staff, nice drinks including wine. more

I totally loved Salon V! The place is conveniently located, the interior is trendy and cozy at the same time, the staff is welcoming and super friendly. I was blown away with the variety of services they offer. Also, Veronica was just great - very helpful and paying attention to the details. It didn't feel like she was trying to "just get it done and get to the next client". I was very pleased with her work. The base color she chose turned out so natural I still get compliments 3 weeks later, the lowlights look great as well. She really won me over by making me actually LOVE my hair again, not just being OK with it. V is not for Vendetta, V is for Veronica! After so many years of pretentious, snobbish stylists trying to manipulate my hair into some vision of trendiness, it is so refreshing to entrust my style to Caroleena who works to understand my hair type and my lifestyle. I have the best and most flattering cut I have ever had, at the same time very stylish and modern, but something that I can recreate on my own at home. Everyone at Salon V is friendly and unprententious, but undeniably hip as well. There is an intimacy that is not just offered to the regulars and it is no uncommon for a conversation to break out between several stylists and clients at once. more

I discovered Sonya after requiring immediate attention to fix a home hair dye disaster. She rectified the extensive damage with such a degree of perfection-- I knew I had found a new hair stylist. For almost two years Sonya has been cutting and coloring my hair. I never worry about getting my hair cut (as many people do ) because Sonya is able to decipher exactly what it is I am trying to describe and she can execute each and every one of my excessive and particular demands which I know I am terrible at conveying. It simply comes down to the fact that I trust her, and she listens. Additionally, and most importantly for me, Sonya is willing to accomodate me for 'in between' trims which is needed for my hairstyle. I highly recommend Sonya at Salon V. She has made my life a whole lot easier. Pros: relaxed atmosphere, extremely qualified staff Cons: none more

I highly recommend t his salon! The atmosphere is very friendly, and the staff is very attentive. This was my 1st time at the salon, and I scheduled an appt with Veronica for color and a blowout. I must say that I was very impressed with the results. My color looked awesome and the wash+blowout was great! Very affordable and well worth it! more
