Matt is an expert with natural colors! i had always gone to salons around where i live in the west side, but never left with such beautiful color. I love Matt's work beacause he gives it a hundred and ten percent- it has integrity. i never got so many compliments about my color even on its worst bad hair day. he has me for life and i will continue to promote him and send him business! I got a haircut from Louis and I LOVE IT!! I have tried a ton of hairdressers around the Valley and haven't been happy with the cut, but Louis did an amazing job. I'm really happy with how easy it is to make my hair look great. I'm going back for sure! more

What a great salon. Everyone is so welcoming and has such an awesome vibe. I was told to go to Louis by a good friend whose hair always looks beautiful and when I was in DESPERATE need of a color correction, he seriously came to my rescue! My hair; brittle and chemically exhausted, turned into a GORGEOUS and shiny head of hair after I saw him! And when it comes to cutting, he's a magician! I had him cut my hair (a trim with choppy layers) two months ago and it still looks so healthy and full. I insisted that my sister make an appointment with him before an important event and now her hair also looks absolutely incredible. I've seen SO many stylists and no one does color, color corrections, or cuts like he does. I HIGHLY recommend that you make an appointment with him ASAP. Thank you, Louis and True! more

I have been going to Elia for 7 years and he is 1 PERFECTING M*F* and rightfully so... His {suited} arrogance, knowledge and passion exudes through his work, and I must say he is TOP OF THE LINE! I've had my hair ""Serviced"" by many reputable stylists and my hair has NEVER looked so GOOD, received so many COMPLIMENTS and MOST IMPORTANTLY BEEN SO HEALTHY. I cut/color my hair pretty frequently. However, when Sarah Bailey cuts my hair, I don't need to get anything done to it for a longer period of time because the shape holds. Sarah is smart, savvy with color and styles. I love being in the salon. The other stylists are fun and genuine. It is a great atmosphere and I will continue to go. I went to Sarah at Salon True and we discussed what I was looking for, it's been about 15 yrs of the same long curly hair, nothing really new. She listened to what I wanted, gave me suggestions (thank GOD she talked me out of the really really short cut!!) and gave me exactly what we talk about and I love it so much better than even the picture in my head!!!! I had my hair cut by one of the owners, Elia. He did not listen to what I wanted but instead chose to cut my hair how he felt was best, which left me with a flat, shredded, uneven cut. My hair went from wash-and-go to extremely unmanageable, devoid of style. Elia is extremely arrogant and believes his skills and techno style salon far surpass any other salon the valley has to offer. I recently got a men's haircut at Salon True and Sarah was Amazing! I had an old looking style and I felt like I was on one of those make over shows. I left looking and feeling great! I have been going to Louis Sorno for a while and WOW he is amazing!! I lost touch with Louis for a few years and went to 2 or 3 different stylist and it just wasn't the same. Got referred to this salon by a friend. The person she actually recommended was not available so they suggested Louis Sorno. He's a real New Yorker! With a heart of gold. Great cut and color. Does it all himself so you're not actually getting your color done by an assistant, which has happened to me before in these big salons. I think Louis is great and open to your ideas. It's a very nice place. A bit 'cliche L.A.', but that's not a shocker. There are some excellent stylists. Alex does amazing work, and the owners Elia and Mark are very modern cutters) The ambiance is chic and friendly, if a bit heavy on the techno feel, and a little light on the amenities, but they do good work. I'd suggest you steer clear of Louis (color + cut), unless you wish to re-live the edgy 1980's vibe, of runny noses and constant phone interruptions, if you catch my drift. He's moderately talented but not worth the bad energy. (Think 'Ari Gold' meets Ami Winehouse, in the body of a paunchy, middle-aged New Yorker.) My mistake was allowing him as a sub. Stick with the upscale stylists there.\r Those working in reception are real gems. Very warm people. There are some real artists working here. Yeah, the parking can be a nightmare, but just choose your appointment times wisely, and you'll be fine. more

I just moved to Sherman Oaks from Orange County and had to find a new salon. True looked like a nice and clean salon so I decided to make an appointment with the owner Elia. I was a little disappointed because it took me quite some time to find parking. They don't have a parking lot or valet. I had to park in a meter that was a little far. He ran behind schedule and I ended up staying over my 2 hour limit for a haircut which got me my first parking ticket since moving from the O.C. My hair cut looked great when I left the salon. After I washed it and let my curls go, I realized that my cut was a little uneven and my hair feels very thin. I'm not sure what happened during the cutting process. I think the cut isn't right for my curly hair. I wasn't too excited about him using a flat iron on my beautiful curls. He might be ok with straight hair, but my curls didn't like his technique.\r Oh well. It's usually fun trying new salons, but this wasn't an experience I would recommend. I'm sorry to write a negative review, but my friend suggested I should express my feelings so other girls would know about the salon. I'm on the search for a good local salon. Help ! From the moment I walked in the door to the second I left not only did I get Billion Dollar Hair I got a Billion Dollar Experience. The atmosphere was hip and sophisticated yet approachable. The receptionist, Richard had a sweet boyish charm. Joshua's shampoos are amazing! My stylist Mark catered to my every need! He took interest in my concerns and created an amazing look for me!
