Words cannot express the gratitude I have for Joy and her staff at Salon Bravissimo. Lets just say I had an “extensions” disaster. I have short hair and was in need of a change so I decided to explore the world of hair extensions. I did, what I thought was good research. I made an appointment with an unnamed salon, had a consultation and brought multiple photos of what I wanted. I was quoted a price and assured that would do the job. After the appointment I went into a panic. To avoid confrontation I paid, smiled and ran home. The hair was the exact opposite of what I wanted. It was coarse, stringy and it didn’t match my hair as closely as it should have. The hair wasn’t cut in layer so it almost resembled that of a lady mullet. It was a woman’s worst nightmare. Long story short I didn’t know a darn thing about extensions, I just knew it wasn’t right. When I called the unnamed salon the response was “I am really busy but I will try to get you in the next month”. I was mortified. So I called Salon Bravissimo. The staff was very kind and Joy- “The extension Goddess” agreed to stay late on a Saturday to look at my hair. They were very warm and inviting and addressed my concerns like a best friend would. I was in tears and they hugged me and assured me it could be fixed. After identifying the issues Joy and her staff immediately started to come up with ideas and eventually a solution. She ended up removing them completely- correcting the color and put in almost double of what I had in. The hair was soft. The color was amazing and the cut was just what I had pictured. Joys attention to detail and “can do” attitude calmed my fears and made me feel like family. I could go on and on about the staff and how fantastic everyone was but I think you get the point. So bottom line- if you want a salon that is going to listen to your needs and care about you- SB is it. If you want professionals who are down to earth and kind- SB is it. I have never been to a salon that cared more about me and the smile on my face than my checkbook. As for extensions- don’t go anywhere else. Joy knows what she is doing and both she and her staff truly do care about your happiness. I am a client for life and I have no doubt you will feel the same. I have been going to Salon Bravissimo for at least 5 years. Initially when I started with the Salon, I thought it was classy and my stylist Joy who is also the owner was very professional and talented. She is by far the best stylist I have experienced in Sacto. She listens and understands and always wants to make me happy. I have noticed in the last few years some things changing. Rather than the classy atmosphere, its becoming more trendy, the attire of some employees has also changed, more trendy than classy. I would recommend Joy to everyone, and I do. Once you have gone to her or someone she recommends in her salon, you will not be disappointed, if you are, she will rectify it. Once you try Salon Bravissimo, no other salon in Sacto compares. I would like to give your salon a big Thank You! I had the best experience in your salon last week and I plan on being a lifetime customer from now on. Denh Chu gave me a haircut and brow wax, but that is only a part of what she did. She took the time to listen to me and she cut my hair in a style that I can actually make look great on my own. She explained how to dry and style my hair and even told me to come in with my brush if I had any problems at home. It's hard to find good customer service these days, but she went above and beyond. I've gone to many nice salons in my life and always wished I could find that one haircut that would work for me. I've dragged pictures and my hopes with me every time, and usually left with something looking ok. However, the next day, when I had to style it myself, ok went to not so good andsometimes downright bad. In fact, I went to a nice salon only a week before I came to Denh. I paid $70 and the cut I got can only be described as a mullet! I had to wear my hair up to hide the awful cut. I'm glad I found this salon and Denh. I will certainly refer all the people who tell me how much nicer my hair looks to Salon Bravissimo! Pros: Above and beyond service. more

I had long layers,and naturally wavy hair. I wanted some bounce, and curls and hence decided to get a perm done. I thought of having a consultation first, and wasn't sure if a digital or a traditional perm would be more appropriate for my hair. I was advised by Jen chu, the perm specialist to go in for a digital perm to get the curls and bounce I was looking for. I got the perm done a week later, result: no bounce, no curl in my hair. Only difference - I now have frizzy hair :( I am not too sure if a traditional perm would have been more appropriate, or whether the digital perm was not peformed properly by Jen - I did not get what I wanted. I was charged $350 for a service, that wasn't worth a penny! Jen told me that using hair products, and styling them with a diffuser would make the perm more prominent, but even without using any products, if I just twirled my hair after washing, the curls will show up - (well, that's what a perm is supposed to do, Right??? Wrong! - when you get it done from Jen as my hair looks just the same as they used to do before I got the digital perm done. I followed her advise- use B&B hair product, diffuser to style, or just twirl my hair after shampoo - still, It's been almost a month now, no signs of perm. Even when you get a hair trim - people around you notice - nobody even noticed that I got a digital perm as my hair look just the same. Caution: Don't go by the pictures that Jen shows you. She showed me some pictures of the perm she had performed when I went for the consultation - Looking at those pictures, I became a bit hesitant, and told Jen that I wanted more curls that what she was showing me, and asked her if a traditional perm was what I needed to get the looks I want. She advised me against going for a traditional perm, and assured me that the digital perm will give me what I wanted. She also told me the models in the pcitures had shorter hair and different kinds of layers and assured me I'll get what I wanted. When I got the perm done, the curls were not showing up. I told her that I didn't see the curls-she applied tons of hair product and styled my hair- and took a picture of my hair (which is now posted on their website). Firstly, I am Model #1 (after) on the picture gallery that's on their website, but the Model #1 (before) is not me. Jen did not take my pciture before the perm, and model #1 before has straight hair, wheras I have a natural wave. Secondly, if you are posting a picture of what your hair looks like after using tons of hair product and 30 minutes of styling, then what's the point of getting the perm done? Why spend 3 hours and $350 to have hair that looks just the same until you spend 30 minutes GETTING them styled! Overall, I was completely dissatisifed with this service. I believe that the stylist is still learning how to perform a digital perm, and experimenting on real customers. I would not recommend anyone to get this service done from this place, it is not worth it! I ended up wasting a Saturday afternoon and $350 and in addition to that, got frizzy hair - no bounce or curls! Pros: customer service Cons: false promises more

I got Minx nails at Salon Bravissimo. Chanda the nail tech was really sweet and professional. I like how everthing is prepacked in sanitized bags. Really made me feel comfortable. There are some places that really doesn't care about sanitation. Pros: Clean and friendly service. Cons: None. more

I scheduled the keratin smoothing treatment with Kristin and I am thoroughly impressed with the results. I originally was looking to do the japanese straightening but since my hair was a bit more on the overprocessed side, they recommended me to do the keratin treatment since it can be done on any type of hair condition and it helps to make your hair healthier. Now my hair is straight, frizz free, and incredibly manageable. Kristin was also very nice and not pretentious like some other stylists I had before. I really like this salon and would highly recommend. Pros: Excellent results. Cons: none more

I had my hair permanently straightened with the Yuko system By Julia. She did a wonderful job with the straightening and she did a beautiful cut after the treatment. I'm very pleased with the treatment, but I do have frizzy ends where my hair was colored. Its an easy fix with some smoothing serum and flat iron. I also purchased the shampoo/ conditioners, but I don't really think they make a difference in the appearance of the hair (it probably helps the straightening snmoothness last longer) I use my regular smoothing shampoo and got a really nice result better than the Yuko shampoo. Pros: nice, friendly,clean Cons: none more

I recently cut my hair into the popular bob. While I liked it for a while I desperately missed my long hair. Joy gave me a consultation and made me feel very comfortable with how the process worked. I was very concerned because I like to run my fingers through my hair or just throw it up really casually and I like to swim. I didn't want high maintenance hair. Joy reassured me that I wouldn't have a problem with any of these things. I decided to pay the price and get then extensions. Not only do they look completely natural. I also feel like they are just a part of my head. There is no more maintenance than my other haircut that took me a long time to style. I have received many compliments on my thick long hair (people don't even know they are extensions). They were very expensive but I consider the cost worth it. I feel so much better with my long hair back. Thank you Joy. I will continue to go to you for as long as you are doing hair. Pros: Great hair extensions Cons: Price more

I had tried various locations for massage and I have to say I've finally found my favorite masseuse. Nikki at Salon Bravissimo has the most amazing touch with the most fluid of motion. I have to say she is the best. Definitely coming back. Pros: Friendly staff, great massage. more

Joy from Salon Bravissimo changed my life. For years, I struggled with my frizzy naturally wavy hair. I would avoid pools, rain and other activities that would unleash my wild mane. I was originally going to get the treatment in San Francisco, but I found out that Salon Bravissimo was just down the street from my house in Sacramento and that Joy had years of experience. I was really nervous at first, but Joy, her assistant, Holly and the rest of the staff made me feel so comfortable. The salon was beautiful and the staff professional. Since Joy performed the Yuko system on my hair, I can go swimming and meet with my friends as soon as they call. My hair smells like shampoo now instead of that burned hair odor that I usually got from flat ironing. I never imagined that my hair could ever be this low maintenance; it was almost too good to be true. But, it is true and absolutely fabulous. I have been trying to find a good facial for a while. I have been to several salons in the Sacramento area and have not found what I am looking for. I was just recently referred to Emily at Salon Bravissimo by one of my friends and I am so glad I was. I was so impressed by the facial I received that I have already booked another one. She did an awesome job and I left there feeling AMAZING!! My skin has never felt better! Not only does she give great facials but she also is great at waxing. I had her wax my eyebrows and my legs and she did a great job! My eyebrows have never looked this good before. I am so thankful I was referred to her and will for sure be referring others to her. I recently moved here and was searching for a reputable salon where I could get my hair thermally straightened. I found 3 separate salons in Sacramento that offer the original thermal straightening technique (Yuko or Liscio) and I had consultations at all 3 places. I was absolutely most comfortable with Joy at Salon Bravissimo. She clearly had the most experience and demonstrated the best overall knowledge of the process. I just had my curly hair straightened and cut by Joy yesterday and I could not be MORE THRILLED with the results. My hair looks fabulous!!! Also important to note is that Joy is the owner of the salon, and she is doing a great job of making it a comfortable yet chic place to get your hair styled or skin cared for. Joy had her two great assistants (Julia and Holly) assist her with the straightening processes, which meant that she completed the process in 3 hours, far shorter time than I was prepared to spend getting it done, and this also meant that the cost was cheaper since beyond 3 hours the price is an hourly rate (consistent with every salon I talked to). I really just can't express how trully pleased I was with my entire experience with Joy and her salon - I will definitely be a regular now! PS: I do not know anyone that works at this salon, I am writing this to help anyone else who may be searching for a good salon, as I was a couple of weeks ago. I strongly recommend the Yuko straightening treatment performed by Joy if you have unwanted curly or wavy hair. I will be forever grateful to her! Pros: Everything! Cons: None to report! more

I have been going to Salon Bravissimo for my haircuts for quite some time. I've recently found out that they added a facial and skincare section to the salon. I decided to try it out. Emily, the facial technician was incredible. She was extremely knowledgable and professional. I felt so rejuvenated that I made it a regular commitment to see her. I've tried other facial techs at other salon/spas and I would have to say Emily is the best. Pros: Great facial service and knowledgable staff. more

I have been a customer of Salon Bravissimo for over 5 years. The staff is polite and courteous and always up to date on the latest trends in hair and color! Just look at the stylists! They always wear the cuts and colors themselves. Anyone in the Salon is Fantastic!! I was referred to Dana from one of her clients and now I too recommend her to anyone I know. I am fortunate to have a career that allows me to have different styles and colors and because of this I have had Dana take my hair from Pink to Black to Blonde to Red to Brunette from long to short then long again and always my hair has stayed in great condition. I also have her style my hair for events that I am attending. What I find the most refreshing about her is her honesty if I want something and it may not work she sets my expectations but allows me to make the choice. It?s my hair and I definitely want my choice but I trust her judgment. Everyone I recommend loves the outcome and the experience. So again I recommend Salon Bravissimo and any of the stylists but Dana is definitely my choice! more

I had decided on a whim to trust the people who have written reviews on here. I read that a few reviews about Dana and thought, wow she must be fantastic. Hair is important in my life and even though I have never goneto someone I didnt already know I read the reviews and believed them. I went in and saw Dana and my hair was ruined. The color did not come out the way she told me it would. TO my horror she didnt even try to fix it. She said I she had other appts that day. I ended up having to pay twice the amount to get it fixed elsewhere. I believe now that those review are from friends or the stylist themselves. From my experience I cant believe any of those could have been true. more
