dark and special place 7/31/2006

This bar has a very unique atmosphere, tucked underground of east village, plays dark moody classic rock and serves various sake and other Japanese hard liquors. They serve little Japanese dishes that goes very well with the sake. This place give me a strange feeling of being stuck in time.. like being in old movies. Overall, lovely place to sip strong sake at late nights. more

hideaway sake bar 8/16/2005

Well, Decibel’s not really a hideaway bar because it’s so popular, but it’s one my favorite places to take a date because you can achieve some privacy there and you (oddly enough) never seem to run into anyone you know. The sake’s excellent, of course, but they’ve also got great nibbles, including edamame. I love the wood decor and atmosphere. Definitely for a more quiet evening getting really drunk on great rice wine. more
