Worst

I waited over an hour for the waitress to take our group's order. When the food finally arrived, it was so unpalatable, that I just didn't eat it. There are a lot of bikers and ...

sorely dissapointed\r DINER REVIEW • FEB 17, 2013\r EDIT\r Sat night I had my son's birthday party here on the patio. It was disorganized and chaotic. Our server (Bryan...Ryan?) seemed annoyed and frankly, nonchalant and amused in a weird way: just didn't give a crap? We wanted to speak to a manager when some food never showed up but we couldn't flag down our server. Finally his assistant or (another server?..Tracey?) noticed we were unhappy and notified our server. She also brought us the chips and salsa we'd asked for an hour earlier. Our real server then came over and apologized saying he was ""caught off guard"" by us coming at different times. He had other tables across the restaurant. He blamed his supervisors for not paying attention and stepping in to help out. He was sweet and apologetic but the damage has been done for us.\r more

NEVER AGAIN! Disgusted, with every aspect of this place, from the ownership to the food and the drinks in between.\r \r Was part of a sizable group (a dozen or so) 40-something parents out to see this Journey tribute band last night. Was VERY glad my wife and I didn't open our wallets for the food though, was offered tastes of several of my friend's plates and it rates equal to Del Taco at best. Drinks were overpriced and watered down also.\r \r To cap off my night, I received a call from my teenage daughter in a crisis, I opened an unmarked door to step ""outside"" where I could hear her over the music, and noticed that I was in a filthy, disgusting outside area where they stored both old furniture and food on pallets (really?). About 2 minutes later, I am confronted with a fellow who puts his face within a foot of my phone screaming ""you can't be out here"" and proceeds to give me a verbal hazing while I'm trying to talk to my daughter, even though I explained that I was just a dad trying to deal with a family crisis. Got the same from another guy who showed up claiming to be the owner and actually asked me to apologize to his guy for raising my voice (really?... again). \r \r From what I could see, we were among their best customers last night, and they not only fed us filth, but chose to treat a concerned father like a juvenile delinquent. Needless to say, me and my friends are all ""locals"" who will not only stay away, but do our best to make sure others do too. \r \r And now they can also count on the health department showing up to take a good look at their food storage practices. Well earned gentlemen.\r more

DONT EAT HERE!!! 5/20/2011

May 20, 2011 @ 8:15pm AS I WAS TRYING TO LEAVE THE RESTAURANT PARKING LOT, I WAS BLOCKED IN BOTH DIRECTIONS AND A WHITE VAN, WHICH WAS OBVIOUS TO EVERYONE ESPECIALLY THE STAFF HAD BLOCKED EVERYONE FROM GOING THAT DIRECTION. SO I WENT THE OTHER WAY AND A SUV LEXUS WAS LEFT IN THE PARKING AREA. WHEN I TOLD THE SECURITY AND THEN THE MANAGER THEY KEPT TELLING ME I SHOULD OF TOLD THE NON-SPEAKING ENGLISH VALETS! LUDICROUS, AND I KEPT POINTING OUT THEY THEY SHOULD BE WATCHING ESPECIALLY THE WHITE VAN. NOW BECAUSE OF THEIR ATTITUDES-I TOLD THEM THEY ARE COMMITTING-""FALSE IMPRISONMENT. ONE OF THE SECURITY GUYS THREATENED ME AND SAID, ""I'LL TAKE OFF MY SHIRT AND WE WILL GO OVER THERE AND SETTLE THIS!"" THEN THE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT I BETTER BE CAREFUL OR I WILL GET HURT! BESIDES IT IS A FIRE HAZZARD! Best Bruch in L.A.! 5/28/2010

I can not believe anyone would give this wonderful place a bad review, but I guess that is what freedom of speech is for - right?\r This restaurant has the best brunch I have ever seen. From 10a-2pm, unlimited everything you can possibly imagine. If you thought of it, it will probably be there. We always have a great experience at this place, and every time I have guest from out of town I take them to Sagebrush then hear about it later when our good memories come up. Everyone I know has loved this place and wants to go back when they come visit me again! I also love the freedom to be able to bring children and have a great time with them as well. Pros: fruit flavored vodka, food, deserts, atmosphere, live music Cons: nothing more

AVOID THIS DUMP!!! 5/7/2010

Lousy food - with hair in the salad? Check. Slow, surly service? Check. Ankle-deep urine in the bathroom? Check. A ""manager"" who gets combative if you complain? Check.\r This neighborhood nuisance should have been closed long ago. It's an overpriced, unfriendly, dirty dump - much like it's sister bistro in Santa Monica - Ye Olde Kings (lice-ridden) Head.\r Avoid, Avoid, AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cons: Everything more

Worst Service In TOWN 3/24/2010

nothing unique about this place it changed hands and the service is lousy, they said they stayed open till 11:30 we brought our birthday party there, and they told us to leave around 9:30 they were closing, I will NEVER go back to that place again our children did not really appreciate the butts and boobs hanging out either, it is not a family place anymore go to the Latigo Kid in Agoura it is family and good food and they appreciate good familys to come there, tell everyone not to bother with this trumped up Sagebrush cantina any longer it is not what it used to be. Pros: worst service in town Cons: rude behavior from all employees more

Great facelift! 2/21/2010

I've been coming to this place for years and I can honestly say that things are finally getting better here! They are under new ownership now and the owners did a great job giving this place a facelift! Tons of TVs were added and tons of new beer making this a great spot to watch sports. My husband and I try to make it in once a week and hang out on the bar and watch the wild people around us. So many wackos go through that place. The only thing I would like to see a change in is the menu, which I was told that it is in the works! Sagebrush is a perfect summer hang out for everyone.... cant wait for the weather to be nice again to sit out on the patio. Pros: Great martinis, fun bartenders, great atmosphere Cons: food is average more

good bloody marys 1/1/2010

Rude Behavior, No account for Paying customers 1/12/2009

Went to the place with friends and had high hopes. Once seated the service was slow. No Live music, The place was supposed to stay open till 11pm but closed at 930 and even after spending over $150 in food and drink the security personal yelled at us to start walking towards the door with no warning or explanation, Upon asking to speak to the manager we were faced with a rude Mgr that disregarded any complaints and simply asked us to leave cause they were closed. The waitress informed us that the places closes down early if there are not getting any new business!!! Would not go there again even though the place is good and could have become our next hang out spot! disappointed. Pros: Location, Ambience Cons: SERVICE RUDE RUDE RUDE! more

Worst Restaurant Ever 11/8/2008

The food was very mediocre and the service was slow as well, but mainly we had a probably with a misunderstanding about a charge for a food item we ordered. We asked our server if they could split one fajita half chicken and half steak. Our server said they could, but when we received our bill we were charged an extra fee for this split. We asked our server to explain the extra fee and from her explanation it was clear that there was a misunderstanding between us. We asked her to show us the menu to try and clear up the misunderstanding. There was no half chicken half steak fajita on the menu. We then asked to speak with a manager when it was clear she wasn't going to reverse the extra fee. The manager proceeded to argue with us that this was a very common order and that most people just accepted the extra fee. Now I've worked in my share of restaurants and usually when there's a minor misunderstanding between the restaurant and the customer the customer is usually given the benefit of the doubt. It's called good customer service. The server never mentioned an extra fee and if she didn't understand what we were ordering she should've asked us to clarify. We will never recommend or go to this restaurant again. more

Loads of fun! No wonder mom hated it. 9/14/2006

Let's see, so far people dragging along a bunch of kids or their moms seem to dislike the place. Maybe because, at it's heart, it's a giant, loud, crazy bar, not the place for a quiet family meal. It is what it is, and if you are OK with sidling up to the bar to get your drink a little faster, mingling with bikers and locals, and relaxing and socializing while you wait for your food, then you'll love it. If you want perfect service and gourmet food, then you probably should have gone to a gourmet restaurant.\r \r Bottom line: If you're looking to check it out, it's worth going. The food is purposefully average with a few specialties. The atmosphere is fun, and the music great. Pros: Atmosphere, Music, Great mix of people Cons: Expect crowds and noise. more

Horrible service, impolite parking attendents 6/17/2006

I have been here multiple times because it is close to work. The service here is beyond terrible. The parking attendents and the speed of the waitresses' services are the worst. The parking attendents are rude, rough on your car, and they automatically keep the change for themselves without asking you. They are beyond rude and sneaky. \r It is more than obvious that the restaurant is terribly under-staffed. If you miss a chance to order, the waitresses won't come back by another 30-45 mins. Even worse, they have an ""assigned food waitress"" and an ""assigned drink waitress"" for each section. So you have to find different waitresses for different orders, and they seem to have a hard time to put two bills on one credit card. It can take easily an hour and a half to finish your complete order. It's extremely frustrating and it definitely ruins the mood of the evening after dealing with the un-pleasant looking and rude waitresses and the parking attendents. \r I have to admit that they have pretty good bands here. But if you are not sitting at the back of the patio, the music may be too loud for people who have normal and healthy hearings. They have outdoor and indoor seatings, but you will feel hot in either places. If you want to enjoy the music outside, you can only order appetizers, no dinner menus for music lovers. The appetizers are OK, but you get very small portion for $12. The size of the martinis is particularly ridiculous. I swear the martinis are like a child-size drink, and I have tried three different martinis, none of them tasted great.\r In conclusion, bad and rude service, small martinis, warm indoor and outdoor seatings, not romantic or trendy, but good bands. more

Terrible Service and Uncaring Management 6/12/2006

I've been going to the Sagebrush for years and have always had a great experience....until today. The service was slow, no refills for drinks, the waitress dropped the tray with our food when it finally came, couldn't keep the order straight, brought a dish no one ordered, and then had the nerve to add an 18% gratuity to the bill! I explained to the manager what we experienced, and he couldn't have cared less about the awful service. He just said we could cross off the tip if we wanted. Don't think I'll be going back for a long while! more

Do NOT eat here! 5/14/2006

We went today for mother's day. What a mess. We had a reservation but we still had to wait an hour, in the hot sun with a toddler. We finally get seated (after the hostess complained in front of us about having to seat us, I'm not kidding). The hostess was ruder than rude to us. Oh, and our table was still dirty and full of used dishes and food. It was a buffet and was so crowded you literally couldn't see in front of you. And nobody knew where the plates were. Let me not forget to mention that our waitress NEVER even showed up to offer us drinks. NEVER. I asked for the manager and they never even came to the table. In short, do NOT go here, especially for a holiday. They really made my mother's day the worst ever. Pros: Nothing Cons: Rude staff, Poor service more

Great outdoor patio with live music!!! 10/15/2005

I was there on a Friday night and I loved it!!! Great live band playing in the heated patio, good selection of drinks, huge place for big groups...In October they go big on Halloween decorations...fun place!!! Pros: live music, outdoor patio, drinks Cons: parking fee more

Great Fun 12/14/2002

The Sagebrush Cantina on Sunday night in the summer time is the best place to be. Large crowd, friendly people, live music, dancing, and full bar. The setting is an outdoor patio with large trees with branches that hang over head. A large variety of people come to enjoy the music, food, drinks, and meeting of people. And if you drive a Harley Davidson this is a great place to drive your motorcycle to. Many good riding buddies can be made here also. Heatl Studio City, CA Pros: Great people to meet, Good music, Food & drinks Cons: Service is slow, Hot in summertime, Pay for parking more

Bikers to Movie Stars 8/8/2002

Dining at Sagebrush Cantina is like Los Angeles itself. You can find babies to grannies, bikers to movie stars. The outdoor atmosphere is 'interesting'. I don't suggest sitting in the entertainment area as it can get too loud. The food is good, salsa even better. Pick the Canre Asada Tacos, my favorite. Come early as ther is a line on Friday and Sat. Evenings. more

great margs 6/5/2002

the food is good and the drinks are great. a great place to go on a friday or saturday to sit outside and watch a band. more

Not just for bikers 5/22/2002

This place has been around forever. Not much has changed in all the years I've gone here, although the menu has gotten a little more pricey ,the food is great. It is a great place to go on a hot evening in the summer. They have an outdoor dining patio and usually have a band. The drinks are excellent! Try the Midori Marguerita for a refreshing change. I hope they never change this long time valley hangout. They also have a very nice Sunday Brunch more
