I decided to seek help after suffering from IBS, as well as gluten intolerance, for three long years. I came to Melani at the very beginning of my 3rd trimester. At that point, I was experiencing some anxiety and my back was beginning to hurt. My wife started seeing Melani to help get her cycle back to normal, so she could start ovulating again. In the meantime, we had found out that I had very low sperm motility - 38% and >50% is considered normal. So, I went in to see Melani and she took over an hour to talk with me about diet, lifestyle, sleep and other health related things to develop a customized herb formula to help fix the issue. She also recommended getting a little more exercise, less caffeine, and really simple diet changes to get more nutritional value out of food (such as eating breakfast every day, having protein with every meal). Receiving acupuncture treatments towards the end of my pregnancy helped relieve much of the physical pain of the third trimester and prepared my body to give birth. My baby was 'late' and my OB scheduled an induction for me. However, a few closely spaced acupuncture treatments brought on my labor and I did not need to be induced at the hospital. more
