Good in a Pinch 3/8/2007

My husband and I usually take-away from Ruthie's in Katy. It used to be much better but recently the food and service have kind of lost it's zazz. We used to eat their regularly but not any more. Because we haven't been in Katy long we don't really know where else to go for Mexican so Ruthie's is our "if we're desperate for Mexican" place. Beef Fajita dinner for two costs about $24.00 which isn't bad and the Fajitas are good. I also like the Chicken Floutas. I'm sure you can find better in Katy if you know where to look. Otherwise they're relatively cheap and cheerful and QUICK. Almost always ready to take out in 10 - 15 minutes. more

Nothing special 4/15/2006

I agree with the previous review. It's not the best or the worst. It seems like just a typical Mexican restaurant in a strip center in suburban Houston. Greasy food and a bland atmosphere are not really enough to bring us back. Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen around here, so a place has to really stand out to make you want to return. We probably won't be back with all the other competition around here. more

Ruthie's 8/11/2005

Overall, a consistently above average Tex Mex restaurant. Chips can be a little inconsistent, sometimes greasy. Chili con queso is very good. Combination fajitas with beef chicken and sausage is my favorite. My wife likes a couple of their combination plates. My toddler loves the quesadillas. Service is always very attentive. If you are lucky, Ruthie be working the front counter greeting her customers. more

It's fine 8/6/2005

Is it the best? No. Is it the worst? No. It's fine. The food tastes just fine. The prices seem to be a little steep for what you are getting. I think I would like Ruthie's much more if they would lower the prices a little. I would give this one a mild recommendation due to pricing. more
