Rudest, most unfriendly, inconsiderate bunch of people I have ever dealt with in life as well as in the retail business. I was also EVICTED by the owner and his son when I remarked that I didnt agree with a statement he made to his sales associate about my exempt status regarding my farm purchases. He accused me of all the time trying to cheat him on this matter. This was not true, I would sometimes be unsure as to what was allowed and what wasn't and was either told by them or inquired myself. But this particular day he chose to accuse me of trying to cheat them all the time to his sales associate and I over heard him. I told him I didnt appreciate his remarks and he became vein poppingly mad as he did with another poster and they chose to evict me from the store. He told me never to return.\r \r My wife had gone there on occasion to purchase horse feed only to have them run the other way rather than be of help with loading the bags. I have since talked to many others about this experience only to have them concur about the rude, unfriendly atmosphere and management. This was a convenient place to make my purchases, that was the only reason I shopped there. I suggest, people like this dont deserve to have a business that interacts with the public. And they dont deserve to obtain my money or anyone elses money or support with the type of attitudes and discourtesy they represent. Please patronize the other more CUSTOMER FRIENDLY stores. more

Hi Management,\r \r I love your store. Super selection and fair price. With that said, I seldom feel welcome in your store. A couple of your employees are friendly but one of the management seems . . . well, just plain angry. The balance of management seems indifferent to the clients. Not rude, just indifferent. I committed to purchase more things at your store to help insure your business remains in town. That very day I was evicted for life for encouraging the angry management to try and be more polite. For example, responding with something other than a scowl when I said ""Hi"". (I am a very friendly person but apparently encouraging management to be . . . polite is an offense worth eviction.\r \r I even wrote a nice email to management immediately after the eviction event encouraging them to think about their actions and welcoming their conversation. I am sure I could have done things better. I think I was possibly irresponsible for pointing out that I felt unwelcomed (in a nice and polite manner). Especially on a day when the angry one was vein popping fuming. I received no response but it may come.\r \r In conclusion friends and neighbors, keep shopping there but just look at the ground, get your products then leave after paying. We need the store and management needs . . . encouragement . . . but not from the clients if you ever want to shop there again.\r \r Sincerely more

Really great store, and I love the response from the owner below! Really bad of a shoplifter to come on here and badmouth them! The Clark family are great people, and Platte City is really lucky to have such an awesome store. Huge amount of merchandise, very cheap prices (way better than the ""Screw Value"" a few blocks away) and a lot of knowledge from the employees. more

I've had several poor shopping experiences here, as the employees have never been helpful or friendly. Typically, they act as if they could care less if I shop there or not. However, my latest experience with Running Horse, will be my last. I recently purchased a $600 piece of Stihl equipment from them. After only a short time, I received a recall notice from the manufacturer. At about the same time, the piece of equipment failed to start. When I took it in for warranty service, the mechanic explained that the recalled gas cap was the cause of all of the problems. Great. Problem solved with a simple warranty service. Not so fast. Running Horse Ranch called me after I left the store to inform me that I owed them $30 for service. I paid them the $30 after some arguing, but that will be the last dime that I ever spend with them. Eagan's TruValue just around the corner is also a Stihl dealer and are a great group of people. more

Everything's here in one place! I started shopping here when my neighbor told me they had the best prices around on Science Diet, and I still can't believe how much stuff they carry! Last spring, my husband bought two trimmers at Lowe's, and both were dead out of the box. When he took them back, they couldn't get them started either. He got his money back, we went to Running Horse, and they sold us one already assembled, started it up for us, and how to maintain it. That's customer service you just can't find anymore. Everybody there is so friendly and helpful! more

If you want NO customer service, RUDE clerks at check-out, then Running Horse Ranch & Home is your place. OMG, I can't believe people like this stay in business. You have to load all your supplies with no help from anyone. In fact, the owner saw me loading top soil recently, and he went back inside so as not to help. Their attitudes are not new, they have always been rude and never provided any customer service. I only go there because it's convenient. more
