Ruby Blu Salon 2

I went there today for the 1st time thinking that they still had the promotion running. I had called the place before to confirm whether they were still running the promotion this week and they said yes. So when i reached there, the woman working there told me that they had already taken it off and the price ($24) was not applicable. I really wish i had gone back then but since i was there, i just decided to go for it. The woman, Kristen told me that it would be $27 for a regular cut and i specifically told her that i dis not want a blow dry. She insisted that the price was the same with or without and so i went ahead with the cut and blow dry. Now when i went to pay, she said that i had to pay $37 and when i asked her to clarify that, she said that it was their regular price for cut and blow dry. I still can't believe they duped me like that two times! The cut was ok and nothing that any other salon could not have done. I am just so angry that they lied and cheated a new customer who could have been a potential long term customer. I sincerely request you to please never ever go to Ruby Blu in downtown Farmington as they are the biggest cheats and frauds and it is really not worth spending your money in a mediocre salon. You could much better service at an upscale spa and you would at least know beforehand that you are not being taken for a ride! I will never ever go back there again! When I found this salon, it was by chance. It's only been 6 months or so but I'm so much more happier now when I get my hair cut. I like how they shampoo and condition my hair. It's like a minnie massage. I've never been that impressed when I did my hair by the way they welcome you and know different techniques of doing hair, and I'm a guy. I like getting my hair cut by Anika, it sounds like On-eh-kah. Yeah I had to ask how she spells her name, but I also like getting my hair cut by this one hot chic, but I still don't know her name. I would definitely recommend giving it a try at least once. Pros: nice ambiance more

I drive from Saint Clair Shores to Farmington Hills for Antonio to style, color, and trim my hair. He is the best! The salon is updated, friendly and unique. They also offer many products that are upper scale. Additionly, they offer other services, such as: massage, pedicures, tanning ect..Try something new or stick with your current look....They are always willing to listen and style your hair the way you WANT it!!!thx for your service... Pros: Experts in their field! Cons: 40 miles from my home, but worth it! more

I went to the Ruby Blu Salon on Grand River in Downtown Farmington. Mike was excellent. He has done my hair twice and both times it was a great experience. The facility was clean and spaciously arranged. All the people in the salon were friendly and courteous. I think the one bad review was for the Orchard Lake salon and judging from the comments there seems to be a world of difference. I recommend the Grand River Salon - it's a cut above! Pros: Clean, organized, well lit and the employees are friendly and courteous. more

This salon is the BEST I've ever experienced. The whole staff is very friendly and they deliver great service. They have made wonderful new adjustments with a no-tipping policy. It is an awesome experience because they all work together and it's non-commission. You don't feel like they are trying to rip you off. They actually give you $ credits to their salon for recommending them! They tell you everything you need to know and are very honest and knowledgable. I would highly recommened them! Considering the two reviews, I was really disappointed with the place. It was not very clean, and the owner, Antonio, was yelling at one of the employees, right in front of the clients. Everyone seemed embarrassed by it. It was kind of a shabby place, and the cut I got was nothing special at all. Very disappointing. I've had much better elsewhere and will not be going back. One of the stylists told me they had a really high turn over of employees, so that says a lot too. I'd stay away. more

I went to the salon and i was set up with marina she really did't do it for me. She was awfull she kept talking on her cell phone she look like she was more concern about the phone call then my hair. Needless to say i wasn't to happy with my hair i think it was uneven. A few months passed and i got a letter in the mail saying she had left. And if i returned i would get 20% off i was a little worried about going back but a discount is a discount. This time i want with michael the owner we spent a 1/2 hour talking about my hair i walk in getting a haircut and left getting color and highlights he new what he was doing i highly recommend it Pros: taking the time to talk about my hair more

I went to this salon because many people that I knew went here and they all got great hair cuts. Marina was my stylist and she gave me an excellent hair cut! She listened to my preferences. The whole atmosphere was so relaxed, no one was snoby like at some other salons. Michael was very friendly . He made me like the salon from the moment I walked in. From what I saw, the stylists here have a long list of loyal clients. I will definetly go back to Ruby Blu for my next hair cut. :) more
