Royal Place Restaurant

The worst place I have been. The staff is rude, the owner is just ignorant. The place is dirty and run down. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!!! more

I have dined many times at this outstanding establishment. Shared in banquets and parties there.\r The prices have always been unbeatable, the food excellent and the wait staff sterling. Tomorrow I will book another affair there for some 100 people who will enjoy the atmosphere and suroundings that enhance the bill-of-fare. more

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Royal Place and it was absolutely amazing. Their banquet room may not impress during regular business hours, but when decorated and set up for our wedding reception, it was beautiful. The food was great, our wait staff were attentive and helpful, Elida and Lee went above and beyond. And their prices for wedding packages are super reasonable. Walked in to a dark room with dark wood and noone there. The waitress was slow and not personable. The food was as miserable as the the service. I was there with three of my girlfriends and no one enjoyed there meal. There was supposed to be a DJ that night but he never came. We went to the bar and were greated by a smiling face which was nice but too late. Do not recommend for dinner, or parties, or wedding but maybe to get drunk. If only the bartender were on the menu. Rotted food, horrible service, bizarre management that allowed 20+ people to be served absolute decayed garbage- even though he was aware that the majority of the attendee's were in the ""public safety"" field. This is most likely the worst restaurant in the South Hills, if not the entire city. We went on a saturday night at 6:30 for a party for a friend. There was ONE couple in the dining room. Not a good sign. The waitress took our orders and 45 minutes later, I got my order of wings and a salad. Both were just ok. A friend at our table ordered an italian hoagie and was given a fish sandwich. He sent that back and got a Chicken sandwich. Everyone else was done eating by then so he ate it and didn't complain. \r \r I was charged $2 for tap water. When I questioned this, the only response was ""it's filtered, we have to charge"". Then my wings were rung up at 54.99, for 10 wings. She fixed that then had to go back and fix the $6,99 charge for the small salad back to the $3.99 that's on the menu. \r \r The guest of honor was served a decaying piece of meat. It smelled like vinegar and I am appalled that they even let this leave the kitchen. \r \r The person who wrote the last review is obviously an owner because the review doesn't mention how the food tastes or tell you that the place is dark and dingy. \r I will never set foot in this place again, I am so grossed out by my friend's steak that I'm glad I only managed to choke down 3 wings. The only thing good about this place was the food. Everything else was awful....from the service to how absolutely filthy this place was. The bathrooms are horrid! Another party was going on in the next room and you couldn't even hear yourself think for how loud it was. In another room a band was checking it's equipment and we thought a jet plane was landing on top of the ceiling. Had to ask for creamers for the coffee and butter for the rolls. The water pitcher on the side table didn't look too clean either. They had a portable heater in the corner of the room plugged into the wall to ""try"" and warm up the place. I guess if you want cheap, this is the place, but remember to take your purse sanitizer. The first clue walking into this place is that there was ""noone"" in the dining room. This is a very fine venue with a well stocked bar, good food(great wings-they're HUGE!) they cater events and have recently started a LIVE BLUES JAM SESSION every Tuesday night, 8:30PM to 12:30 AM, ample parking, easy to find on RT 88 off of RT 51, NO COVER, and some excellent live blues music.\r ""Smilin' Dave & Friends"" host the session and this is where you will see some of the finest blues musicians in Pittsburgh, drop in and do a few tunes with the band.
