Good food but cost isn't worth it 2/6/2010

Rodizio is one of 3 brazillian steak houses in Denver and does not compare to the other 2. Service was extremely slow (lunch on Saturday and 3 servers...) and the servings were bite size. In the 1 & 1/2 hours we were there, our plates were empty for most of it. Don't get me wrong, the food is good and there is a variety, but havingbeen to a number of these steak houses, the quality was not the same. Pros: Wide variety Cons: Slow service, small serving more

Didn't get to try the food 8/15/2009

Knowing that Saturday afternoon/evening can be a busy time in the streets of downtown Denver, my family made reservations for a birthday dinner at Rodizio Grill several days prior to going there. Apparently, Rodizio Grill wasn't aware of the same potential foot-traffic issue - because they only had four to six servers in the restaurant and half of their tables were closed. The hostess explained that because of a ""rush"" in the morning, they were unable to seat our party of six right away despite our reservations. We waited in the lobby for nearly half an hour, speculating to ourselves about why so many of their tables were closed and why there were so few servers if this was a notoriously busy time during the weekend. While we were waiting, we also noticed the lack of food being passed around by the servers. Supposedly, when a customer turns up the green side of their tumbler, the servers come by with more meat. There were a lot of empty plates and green tumblers in the time we spent waiting in the lobby. Slow service is forgivable when there's a rush, but it seems like they should have been more prepared. Their failure to honor our reservations made my brother want to change restaurants; this idea was echoed by the whole family when we got to our seats. When we were finally seated, we sat down to filthy dishes. My mother had something splattered on the side of her glass; my father had something on his glass too, a spot of food on his knife and something dry and crusty all over his napkin; my brother also had a large spot of dry food in his glass; my napkin was either dusty or covered in something like flour. The waitress (who took quite a long time to appear) offered us their traditional fried bananas (?) and began rattling off their menu items. However, we decided to leave at that point - without a bite of food. To their credit, the waitress rushed over and grabbed the manager when she saw us leaving, who attempted to make it right. He offered us a few comps, but we told him if the dishes were that disgusting, we couldn't imagine what the food was like. Plus, the food is just too expensive for the service we had received. When we left, we went to the Cheesecake Factory. In the first three minutes we were there, while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive, we were offered seats by three employees and the manager himself. Every table in the restaurant was open and our service was incredibly fast. Plus, there was so much food, it practically felt like ""all you can eat"" anyway, which made us very happy we had walked out of Rodizio. I'm sure that if we had eaten in a peak dinner hour, the service at Rodizio Grill would have been better - but they should have been more prepared for a busy Saturday. (This is not abnormal for downtown Denver) However, my family and I will not be giving them the chance to prove my theory correct. I have NEVER walked out of a restaurant before, but I'm very glad I did today. Pros: Manager seemed proactive Cons: Filthy dishes, long wait despite reservations more

I WILL NOT GO BACK TO RODEZIO GRILL EVER EVER 1/1/2009

I have been to Rodezio grill at least 10 times. Every other time I have been very happy with it, thats why I have gone back. We went there 4 days ago, it was very different from the other times. They seemed like they were trying to cut costs, we had to wait much longer for the servers to bring the meat to the table, when we caught on to this we asked for extra so we didnt have to wait as long and they seemed put off by this they were very rude and so was our main server as well as the hostess. The lemonaide was warm. I WILL NOT GO BACK THERE. People should boycott this place, we paid good money and we got ripped off. At 35 dollars a person we shoud have been treated much better and had better service!!! Pros: Brought water in a timley fashion Cons: everything else more

Worst service poor selection Not tasty! 12/9/2008

This was my 2nd visit to Rodizio Grill And my last time going to this Restaurant. Very poor service. more

I'm still full!!! 10/13/2008

Rodizio's is a great place to go to if you are having a night out on the town. The reason being that it will take you a long time to tie one on since you'll be so full when you leave this restaurant. The salad and sides bar comes first. Everything on it is really fresh and tasty. The heart of palms are to die for. Be ready for the main course because they bombard you with every kind of meat you can think of, the garlic sirloin is the best as well as the roasted tomatoes. People say it's too pricey, only because this is a restaurant for those who love to eat. If you have a big appetite and want some really good food, then this is the place for you. I love to go to Rodizio's!!! Pros: Lots and Lots of great food!!! Cons: Not for light eaters. more

Good food, quirky service 7/3/2008

First off, let me say the food is great. The tenderloin and top sirloin are awesome. Stay away from the chicken hearts though. The place, albeit tasty, is really overpriced. Although I think the worst part was that neither of the two waitresses who visited our table seemed to have a clue what was going on behind the bar. I asked for a ketel one and grapefruit juice and she looked at me puzzled and muttered ""capt. morgans and cranberry?"". I then had to explain to her that Ketel One was a vodka and that grapefruit juice was... well... juice. I had to repeat the same Abbott & Costello routine with the next waitress. Pros: Great food, fun atmopshere Cons: Slow service, naive waitstaff. more

Bravo! Yummy! 6/11/2008

My boyfriend loves meat. Loves it like its going out of style. He's from Nebraska, go figure. For his birthday I decided to book reservations here. Hearing all the good stuff on citysearch and looking at that crazy meat menu, I figured I couldn't go wrong here. We had a great time. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was nice and the wait staff friendly. My boyfriend had a a great time. Pros: Selection - Quality more

Mamma Mia!! 6/10/2008

Well what can i say.....if you want to have a great meal and eat like a king, come here. But make sure you dont have any big meals all day....because you will eat like pigs!!! In a good way.....The meat is cooked like no other....great flavor, taste and good price.....make sure you have an extra 20-30 min after the meal to take a little walk...trust me you will need it.....so bring your family or a date....this place hits all moods... more

As a native Brazilian I can assure...this is the real deal. Awesome!!! 9/19/2007

I have been to just about every Brazilian steakhouse in the country, and Rodizio is by far the best value anywhere. The food is delicious, the ambience cozy, the staff is simply great!!! Highly, highly recommend it. Pros: Eat anything and everything on the menu...all inclusive. Cons: Careful, one can overeat. more

Juicy and Flavorful selection of meats. Best dessert anywhere! 9/18/2007

What a great experience! We loved the decor and the wide selection. We asked for our meat to be prepared a specific way and it was delivered to our table perfectly. You have to try the homemade Desserts...no one makes their own desserts anymore. You have to try the Lime Torte and the Chocolate Cake. Watch out for the Caipirinhas...more than 3...well, you know! Pros: So much variety and cooked anyway that you like it! Flavors galore! Cons: There busy on weekends so you need to make a reservation. more

I loved it! 4/13/2007

I have never bothered to write a review but I loved this place. I don't care that some people have negative comments as almost everything was delicious. Yes a couple things were too dry but so what, don't take another bite of it and eat off the next skewer walking by. Even the salad bar was very good. For people that complain about the cost where have they been eating? A good dinner and a drink with tip is at least $40 anywhere. So for $10 more enjoy an incredible variety of great meat! Pros: Lots and lots of meat. Cons: Not a very intimate room but that's not what you're there for. more

What an experience! 3/27/2007

We'd never been to this restaurant before, but we're definately going back! What a great place to be at!!Their Brazilian food is amazing, the salad bar has unique items like the hearts of the palm and collard greens, not to mention the succulent skewers coming to our table, more than 15!! Pros: Valet parking more

Costly mistake! 3/16/2007

What a horrible experience! We waited for a hostess to come back to the hostess stand for 5 minutes. We should have left then, but we love Brazilian steakhouses. They claim to have 17 meats circulating. We only saw 7, and all of those, save for one, was over cooked. The sides were OK. The service was atrocious, and the bill was astronomical. There are so many good eateries in Denver, please do not waste your time, money, or indigestion on this lousy one. Pros: Nice variety. Cons: Everything. Food, sevice, value, etc. more

Awesome selection 9/15/2006

My only complaint is the wait. Even when we have reservations, we still seem to have to wait about 30 minutes. People who walked in off the street were told the wait was 30-40 minutes for them. Besides that, this is one of our favorite places to go. You get a ton of food, all of it is delicious. Be prepared to eat a lot of meat. Thier salads and sides are fantastic, the meat is perfectly prepared, and the desserts are fabulous. So as long as you are not in a hurry, it's a great place to go. Pros: Great food and lots of it Cons: Long wait even with reservations more

Lots and lots of meat 9/14/2006

You pay a fixed price and get as much meat as you can choke down. The food is good, the sides are good but it isn't amazing and it has a more novelty feel. Its a huge restaurant and you will fight with hoards of people for everything. Worth trying for the experience, but I would not go back. Pros: Piles of good quality meat, fun experience with a group Cons: A lot of money for what you get, crowded, noisy and more novelty than anything more

Great Time! 6/10/2006

We celebrated a college graduation at Rodizio. We had a party of seventeen people, with an age range of 16 years old to 80 years old. The service and food were fabulous. Everyone in our party commented that they really enjoyed it. We will definitely return. more

I love Rodizio 6/4/2006

My family has gone to Rodizio for years. I adore the food! It's so much fun to be served in such a unique way. The meats are wonderful (try the garlic sirloin!!) and the salad bar is full of wonderful treats! Pros: Meat! Cons: a bit pricy more

stay away is all I can say 5/24/2006

One of my worst experiences ever - my date and I were having a quiet drink and in conversation and this obnoxios blonde hair server came up and ranted about himself for 15 minutes - we had to leave to escape. (he wasnt even our server.) Watching the other roll their eyes, it seemed it wasn't the first. Spread the word - I will. more

A lot of great food! 7/25/2005

If you're hungry and enjoy meat in all varieties, Rodizio is for you. Essentially there's a a small salad bar with various cold dishes and a few sides that are so-so, but the real treats are the various waiters with skewers of various meats and veggies. Sausage, garlic sirloin, Roast, chicken thighs and hearts, chicken or beef wrapped in bacon, ham, and even grilled veggies (w/ cheese) and pineapple. The drinks menu is massive and includes unique beers (likely brewed locally), a solid winelist, and mixed drinks like the favorite Caipirinha. Meals also include fried breads and bananas. The desserts are amazing - don't miss them. The only downside is the price. A dinner for two with 1-2 drinks is over $100...which is a little steep if you don't truly take advantage of the ""all you can eat"" model. Pros: Garlic Sirloin, Drinks, Service Cons: Pricy more
