Dissapointing 7/31/2010

I got a Restaurant.com certificate but they won't honor it. We supposed to receive a free appetizer due to the certificate issue but they charged me at the end for it. The food is ok. We won't be back. I feel it is a scam. more

Great Family Owned Business 9/10/2009

I attended the opening of this restaurant and have been a regular ever since. Interesting in some of the reviews here referencing New Orleans and Cajun, this cafe has never claimed to be either. Best entree the catfish. If you are really country, you know the Whole Catfish, with bones is the best tasting. If you are unsure of how to eat that, you're not country. The fish is farm raised, and shipped fresh, never frozen. If you know fish then no explanation needed. The owners Wendy and Branden have a proven product with a great lineage. Her father has owned a popular Irving restaurant for 25+ years, Pappy's on Beltline and Conflans. The coleslaw is homemade. Recommend you stick to the catfish and and cole slaw as your first meal, try the rest of the items as you like. Fun, family friendly, and a great atmosphere. more

Best CATFISH ever 4/22/2009

I heard about this place through a couple of friends. I took my family there on 4-20-09 and We had some of the best service that we have had from a place in along time, and the food! Oh my, my parents loved it. my mom never loves places we go. The catfish was awesome and that purple coleslaw they serve was the best. We will all be eating there again real soon. more

Worst Food Ever 3/21/2009

The sad thing is I came back a second time a month later and the food was still terrible. The oysters were so salty I couldn't even finish them and when I complained to the owner Brandon(who happen to be cooking that day) he was extremely rude and told us that we didn't have to come back and you can bet we won't. Frankly I'll be surprised if this guy even stays in business as I have since heard of several other complaints for this so called Cafe. more

Keep on driving, its really not good 6/13/2006

Ok I though the gal who waited on us, Sarah, was a great waitress and very friendly but the food, oh its really terrible. I mean really. But if you are the type of person who thinks that Razoos is real cajun food, you might be able to think this place is ok. But fact is its over priced and terrible. I do kinda feel bad for giving this review but maybe it will offer the properiter some constructive criticism and they can make some changes Ok this is a great concept for north texas, it offers fried seafood, New Orleans style. However, it taste nothing like you would recieve from N.O.. The catfish is the best tasting of all, but here is what we got for $35 An iced tea that was supposed to be sweet tea A glass of beer An order of fried mushrooms that look exactally and taste excatally like the ones from costco. 2 pieces of fried fish, not longer then 4 inces and thin (dry) 6 Fried shrimp, they were so hard oh it was terrible, no flavor and dry and hard and greasy. 2 Crabcakes look identical and taste the same as the ones from Costco (see a theme here) 6 Oysters, now this was the most dissapointing of all, they were small and hard and over salted, they were really terrible. and last but not least the fries, nearly the best of the entire meal. Yeah, not a great place, but it has potiental if they would just bring up the quality of the foood, atmosphere is right on and staff so friendly, its a shame the food is awful. more
