Rita B Salon

I went to Rita B Salon because a friend suggested I go. My hair is fine and limp with little volume and tended to take forever to grow. Not only did I get a great cut and color but Tricia gave me some suggestions on what I could do to give my hair that ""umph"" it needed. It's been 4 months now and I'm happy to report my hair has never looked better. Tricia continues to guide me on my hair journey and I have never looked better! more

As an employee of Jet Nightclub, I started coming upstairs to see Scott and have continued long after my leave from the beautiful hotel. This salon has a character all its own and is my ""hair"" home away from home. Scott is nothing short of an incredible talent! Whether I come in knowing exactly what I want or dealing with one of those days where I have NO idea...I always end up leaving with what I love more than what I had imagined...or couldn't imagine :) There is no doubt in my mind that, as long as I'm in Colorado, Rita B. will forever be my go to gal!!! more

I've been going to Rita B on Wazee now for a year. I moved here from NC and worried about finding a great stylist. I came across this salon through WeeklyPlus and thank GOD for them! I see Scott L. the owner. I always look forward to going b/c everytime I go, i'm smiling for weeks! I have not been disappointed with his cut or color and the staff is personable and friendly, the location is convenient and the salon is so adorable! I LOVE going to see Scott and I absolutely reccommend trying them out! You'll wonder where the heck you've been all this time! more

Rita B Downtown was such a breath of fresh air for me. I walked in not knowing what to expect, but as soon as I walked in I was greeted like I was part of the family and I just got home for Christmas after years of being away. Everyone is so sweet. Tricia did my hair, and she had so many pointers on how to build the strength of my hair over time. I have dry hair (I was told everyone who lives in this climate has hair on the dryer side) and she gave me a few tasks as ""homework"" to get my hair in better shape, like sleeping on a softer pillow case... genius! What I really liked about my stylist is that she told me no. I have dark brown hair, and I walked in not really knowing what I wanted. So I blurted out that maybe we should do highlights. Tricia wasn't afraid to tell me why that wouldn't work for my hair, and help me understand the benefits of what she had in mind for me. I could tell she really cared instead of just plopping some bleach on my head. She took the time to explain things to me. And she even gave me a great ""cheek sweep"" out of my weird bangs that I cut myself. Even better, the owner of the salon downtown is part of an entire dynasty of hair professionals, his mom actually IS Rita B, and I do believe Tricia mentioned to me that his whole family does hair. I love how the salon is set up, it makes you feel like you matter, instead of walking into a big, empty, stale salon... this location is warm and cozy, and is inside of a nightclub/hotel... next time I make my appointment, I will be sure to grab a drink from downstairs! more

If you have ever considered getting a Brazilian Blowout, you MUST go to Scott at Rita B Salon! My hair is naturally thick, coarse, frizzy, and wavy. The blowout procedure took about 2 hours, but now it is saving me tons of time getting ready in the morning. My hair is now super easy to style, and it is so smooth and shiny, I am getting tons of compliments! Love it, love it, love it. PS - I also get my hair cut and styled by Scott, and he is truly a perfectionist. He does such a great job and I recommend him to all of my friends. more

I am new to the area, and decided to try Rita B's and LOVED it!\r My hairstylist that day was Kayla. She was a young, very friendly girl. (her scalp massages are amazing!!)\r I was in the salon for a couple hours, dying and cutting my hair. When I went in, I was unsure of exactly what I wanted and she came up with a few great ideas. \r I was very pleased leaving the salon, and would definitly recommend this salon to my friends. more

Here is what happened....I normally pay $18 - $22 for a haricut. I got a coupon for Rita B for a $15 style and haircut. They said its normally $45. ITS WORTH $10. \r \r My hair has large curles. I asked if she could tighten them. She said maybe with product, like gel. Weird that she can't do that style. Its doesn't seem complex. \r \r I told her 3 times if she cut it too short or did more than a trim it would not curl at all. SHE CUT IT VERY SHORT. There is ZERO curl. \r \r In addition my appointment was for noon. While driving there the ""stylist"" called and said she was 15 mins behind schedule. I was on my way so I figured I would wait there. I waited for 50 minutes. She was 50 minutes behind schedule. \r \r Then could not style it....then did EXACTLY what I told her NOT to do. THAT'S NOT A $45 HAIR CUT. \r \r When I get $18 haricuts they are better. \r \r This is a joke. They get people without skill and just charge a high amount.\r \r And by the way....at the Wazee location where I went, there is no waiting room or front area. There is one chair and one short bench right next to a person getting her hair cut. For 50 minutes I listened to a bitter ""stylist"" complain about her life and how hard it is to get on a bus with 3 kids.\r \r She was coloring someone's hair and when there was a few mintues to let it set she went outside and smoked. So if you don't want a ""stylist"" who smells like smoke working on you...don't go here. \r \r If you actually want your hair styled....don't go here.\r \r If you say you don't want mroe than a trim and want your hair to stay curley....and further explain that cutting too much will make it wavey.....and don't want to get so much cut off that its not even wavey.....just straight.....DON'T go here.\r \r A waste and a joke and I am angry I have this haircut for the next several weeks.\r \r What a scam!\r \r more

I've been going to Melanie for over a year now for cuts and highlights and she always does an outstanding job! I really appreciate the amount of time she spends understanding exactly what look I want...I tend to change things up a lot. She really understands the importance of creating a look that is unique and fits my individual style. I always go for funky looks, but I've seen what she's done for some of my more conservative friends and they look equally amazing! I also love that she does free bang trims in between visits...I love my bangs!!! I really enjoy the salon itself! It's tucked away on the second floor of the jet hotel, which makes it a really relaxed experience...I always feel at home there and the other stylists are very welcoming. I responded to an ad off of craigslist for some discounted pricing. The add spoke of brightening up my day and that is exactly what happened :) I saw scott and he did my highlights and my cut. It was refreshing going to someone who listens, but still has ideas. I am not an artist, that is why I pay someone to do my hair. Scott was great and worth the parking problem. I just visited the New Rita B Salon downtown, (formerly Jul Salon). WOW!!!! The salon is spectacular! Scott, Rita B's son has taken over, and done a fantastic job. He welcomed me with a smile, got me in on time, and, as always, gave me the perfect cut and color. After the cut, I had a drink at the Jet hotel bar to show off my new style. Love this place!!!! I have been to the Rita B Salon several times. Im going to list what happened, I should have left after the first appointment.\r 1. Stylist was a half hour late for my morning appointment.\r 2. Stylist broke my hair! Too much bleach, she did a terrible job\r 3. They don't change their combs out, very dirty\r 4. at one appointment, the stylist did not spend anytime with me, she left the color on for ten minutes, it washed out within that week.\r \r Dont go to Rita B, the one in Centennial is the worst too Pros: it was close to my house Cons: hair color fades fast, they are not good with hair color, always running late more

I got the Phyto relaxer done, and I am black, so my hair is not easy to work with. However, the stylist knew exactly what she was doing, and my hair looks the best it ever has. The entire staff provided great service and they answered all my questions. It was a bit pricey, but considering what I got done ( the Phytorelaxer) and how much hair I have, I think it would have been the same anywhere else (around $120). This has got to be one of the friendlist salons I have been to in the Denver area. Julie is the best ,she makes you feel comfortable and gives you all her attention. It is a rarity to find some one who really cares and does great work. I would recommend Rita bs to any one and I have Pros: Everything Cons: Riverside construction (but it won't last forever) more

Rita B is awesome--first of all, it's in trendy Riverfront Park with these big windowns in the front of the salon so you get to watch all that gorgeous eye candy walk by when you're getting your hair done. Second of all, the girls that work there are smokin hot. You feel a lot better about someone doing your hair that looks good themselves. then, after I went there the first time, I have had at least one compliment every day on how good my hair looks--the cut and the color. It's amazing! I will always go here to get my hair done now.
