Retreat Salon & Day Spa

I recently used a Retreat Spa Gift Certificate my husband gave me for my birthday in September. It was 4 hours of Pure Bliss! I've never experienced a massage (forgot the name) where the therapist walks on your back. That was fabulous! My pedicure and manicure, performed by Megan, was equally great! It was beautiful and everyone was so nice! I can't wait to go again! more

I purchased a spa gift certificate for my wife for her birthday. She finally used it last week. She's still talking about the great time she had. Wow, I would've done this long ago if I knew how much she enjoyed spas. I know what I'm gettig her for Christmas. more

I've been visiting The Retreat for about 10 years. During that time I've went to other spas that were recommended or I received a gift certificate. Nothing compares to The Retreat! Every time I've received a service (i.e. Facial, Massage, Hair, Manicure, Pedicure...) the experience and the results has been PERFECTION! I can always count on several compliments from people after I've been there. more

I have been to this salon several times. If you get the right technician/aesthetician then it can be a worthwhile experience. My first facial was wonderful, the aesthetician did a great job & my skin was glowing after the session. My second facial was a disaster, I got a different lady who started our session by telling me how tired she was, it went seriously downhill from there. I had a bad reaction during & after the facial, it took nearly a week to get my face back to normal. I had a similar experience with their manicure & pedicure package. The first time I had both manicure & pedicure I was impressed with the results, the second time it was terrible. One of my nails had been badly filed & was sore as a result & the polish had been very badly applied. The talented aesthetician no longer works here, I definitely wouldn't recommend this salon! more

Where have you been all my life!? I'm fairly new to the Central Ohio area. I've visited quite a few Day Spas. The Retreat is, by far, the most remarkable spa I've experienced. I decided to try some unique spa services. The Sea Mud Body Wrap & Multi-Vitamin Facial were awesome! I've heard they're famous for their Retreat Pedicure & Manicure, so I treated my hands & feet also. If I could give 6 stars I would! more

My law firm treated myself and 5 other colleagues to a spa day at The Retreat. I was surprised to find out The Retreat is available for private spa parties on Sunday. We had the entire place to ourselves. We indulged in the many different spa services. I was impressed by the vast array of services available. I received several spa services, the 4-Layer Facial and Retreat Spa Pedicure were "Heavenly". During our day, fresh snacks and beverages were available in a gorgeous, relaxing room where we gathered together in-between spa services. My job comes with a certain amount of stress. I feel like a new person. All 6 of us, plan to return again, hopefully very soon. more

To not recommend The Retreat Salon & Day Spa would be a sin. Today, I had the best day in a very long time. I treated my body to a Pumpkin Body Salt Glow & Pumpkin Massage. That was 7 hours ago and my body is still tingling! I can still smell the aroma of the pumpkin scented oils and lotions they used. I’ve been to The Retreat before for many spa services and loved every visit, but today I feel like kicking leaves and enjoying the crisp fall evening air. What a great day!! more

I usually don't leave reviews for anything. I just received a Thank You Letter "in the mail" from The Retreat for spending some time there a week ago. I received a manicure, pedicure and a massage. Every minute of the 4+ hours I was there was a pleasure! They even served me a beautiful Fruit & Yogurt Parfait during my pedicure at no extra charge. I didn’t want to leave! Everyone treated me like I was Angelina Jolie! The staff was very kind & professional. My massage & manicure were perfect. But, my pedicure... Wow! Imagine receiving the best pedicure while snacking on a delicious yogurt parfait while receiving another deep massage from the pedicure chair! I'm a Retreat-er for life! more

The first time I went here, I had a nice experience. The spa was warm and comfortable and felt very upscale. So, I got my mother a gift certificate for a pedicure for her birthday. She came home saying her toe hurt. I called The Retreat, who quickly denied fault. By the next day, my mom couldn't even wear a closed toe shoe. Two days later, she was at the podiatrist, who told her she had an infection. Not wanting to sound ungrateful (as this was a gift from me to her), she didn't want to complain. However, when I called The Retreat, and spoke to the owner, I was completely blown off and told that "it wasn't their fault." No apology, no refund, no other service offered - and I will NOT be going back, nor would I ever recommend this place again. I feel like this spa could accomplish so much more with a little humility - or a class on customer service more

In early September, I called for a pedicure and booked one for same day service. About half way through what I thought was my pedicure the tech stopped doing her thing and put my shoes on to paint my toes. When I asked what she was doing I expected a full pedicure the tech stated that no, I was getting "pretty toes" which amounts to soaking my feet and painting my toes. The tech made no apologies for the miscommunication, did not even try to offer to find out what had happened, she blamed the people at the desk. The tech also had the nerve to mock me to another employee right in front of me when I stated I was not happy. After this horrible experience(had to let her finish, I had to pay no matter what)I spoke to the desk staff who also made no apologies for the miscommunication. The manager/owner of the spa blamed me for what had happened, and started to argue with me when I tried to see if something could be worked out as I was unhappy. No apologies made by any of the staff, owner or not. I did pay for the service I did get as I had no choice, but I did not tip the tech. I would never recommend this spa to anyone ever, if I could rate lower than one star on here I would. more

Don't buy a Groupon for this place because your money will not be well spent. Apparently their definition of a pedicure is to just paint your nails. I didn't realize that a leisurely trip at the spa meant you get pressure from the owner to tip for lack-luster service. My wife came home in tears because she was so mad. more

I had a Groupon for a Spa Day with lots of different treatments that claimed full treatments as in their spa menu. The esthetician told me that the treatment was shortened in the Groupon deal. The receptionist/ manager still expected me to tip off of the full price of each individual treatment. I had scheduled the nail part of my package at a later date because the spa couldn't do all of the treatments in one day. I called the salon asking if I could change my nail appointment to a later date then the one originally scheduled and I was told NO and that I could no longer use the nail manicure. What a waste!!! The decor on the quiet sitting room also seemed really dusty. I will not be returning to this salon even with a groupon!! more

Relaxing, beautiful, not pretentious! I have been to the "big" name salon/spas and have never felt as comfortable as I do at The Retreat. I have always been treated with the utmost respect and feel that the techcnicians that have performed my services were nothing less than well trained professionals. On the subject of trained professionals in the beauty industry; from your hairstylist to manciurist, these guys/gals pay thousands of dollars for their education & licensing and continue to pay each year for continued education. Tipping these service providers is customary and 15-20% is the norm. How many times do you, without hesitation, add a 15-20% tip to your restaurant or bar bill? more

I have been to this Salon numerous times the last 2 experiences have been terrible! The technicians are excellent: massage was great, pedicure was so relaxing & the make-up artist is the best I have ever had! The PROBLEM is the front desk/OWNER. She was rude ( I can get over that since her techs are good BUT she didn't provide what was promised for the gift certificate & she insisted I pay a 20% tip ( which amount to $60) for a service that was good, but was not worth that! She also pressured another customer at the desk ( a young girl of 15 or 16 yrs old) to over pay on a tip! I would NOT recommend this Spa/ Salon go somewhere else where the owner treats you well and doesn't cheat you on service. more

I love my spa! Yes it is my spa. The key that if you get someone you like...get there CARD! Then when you book an appointment request for them. Often times they will ask if you want them again...SAY YES! Don't leave your experience up to whomever. A day at the spa to me is personal and I always request people that I had great experiences with. Also if those people know you requested them, they will make sure to make it a great experience for you again. Also Tip well! :) that also helps ALOT!!! All of this is true regardless of what spa you go to. I love the Retreat because it is close and relaxing compared to the Dublin Penzone that feels like a night club. I was given their "holiday retreat '07" package as a x-mas gift from my boyfriend, which consisted of a manicure, pedicure, massage and facial. I was extremely excited that I was going to have a relaxing day at the spa, since I hadn't had a manicure/pedicure in a long while, and never had had a facial or massage. The pedicure was nice, but the polish job was probably one of the worst I have ever gotten for both my manicure and pedicure, and for what they charge for their services, it was definately not worth it. My massage was horrible and I couldn't wait for it to be over. The woman who was massaging me was doing it way too softly, and was not only making me uncomfortable, but my back didn't feel any better and I definately wasn't any more relaxed. My facial wasn't so bad though. I really liked the girl that did it, except when she was done, she just left me there with big oven mitts and saran wrap on my hands, that I had to take off myself. I'm torn as I have received good service there as well as bad service. My girlfriends and I went for a day of pampering. While they started their pedicures, the woman who was to do mine was really late for work and started me a half hour late then did my feet in 20 minutes (scheduled for 60 minutes) and it was hardly relaxing and they did nothing to compensate me-I was very disappointed. I'm in my 8th month of pregnancy. My husband purchased a Gift Certificate for a day of relaxation. Boy, did I need it! The gift certificate came in a gift box inside a decorative gift bag w/color tissue including a complimentary bottle of Spa Hand Lotion. From the time I entered the beautiful spa I was waited on hand-and-foot. I got a Maternal Massage, 4-Layer Facial, Spa Pedicure w/paraffin and a Deluxe Spa Manicure. Relaxing music filled every room. I also was treated to a delicious catered lunch served in their beautiful Tranquil Room. Everything was perfect! I was blown away by the staffs professionalism, expertise and knowledge. They tended to my every need. My esthetician recommended a great At-Home Skin Regimen. Ive been to other day spas in Columbus, which I thought were good until I experienced The Retreat!
