Best sushi 6/19/2008

After restaurant Hama changed ownership a year or so ago, the food and service got better if not great. I tried almost all the sushi restaurants in Columbus and this one has by far the freshest fish and friendly and knowledgeable staff. They recently added a patio too! They have an extensive menu with both japanese and korean dishes. Place is clean and romantic. The scotty rolls, kalbi, and hibachi are some of my favs. This place makes me keep going back for a reason. Pros: Fresh fish, great food, friendly staff Cons: None so far more

Great Shusi 11/14/2006

Really liked the shusi here! The food was well worth the price too. I ordered from the menu shusi bar and got the samon, tuna, and california rolls. The meal came with soup, salad and there were 6 of each of the different rolls! I could not eat all of it. Price was only $13. Service was okay. . . I would have to agree with the other review I read, the waitress came with the bill right away and didn't ask if we wanted anything else. Though if you are in a rush this could be a good thing. Pros: Great food Cons: Rushed service more

Good Food but Rushed 6/3/2006

The last time that I went to Restaurant Hama the food was alright and came quick enough, but we weren't even done eating and our waitress rushed up and handed up the bill without even asking if we would like anything else. Not cool. I felt like she was in a hurry to stop serving us, and its not like it was that busy either, there were empty tables and no one waiting. Pros: sushi, relaxed atmosphere Cons: poor service more

great sushi.. ok service 3/5/2006

The service was just alright but the food was great. It's a little expensive (whenever I eat there... I usually spend about $30). I haven't tried many other sushi places but the sushi here is pretty good and it's the first place I think about when I think of sushi. Pros: sushi, fun atmosphere Cons: just ok service, pricey more

what a long & horrible expereince 6/2/2005

I ate here a few nights ago with a friend. We ordered edamame as an appetizer and it took 50 minutes. I asked my waitress numerous times where our food was and her only response was, ""i'm sorry, you're next"". Mnay couples that arrived after us had already received their food and were paying their bill. The food wasn't prepared correctly, the rolls fell apart, and the presentation was horrible! I aske dto speak to the manager when we received our food 1 hour and 10 minutes after arriving and the head server came to talk to me. The manager wouldn't even listen to the complaint! Poor food! Poor service! Poor Management! Don't go! Pros: seated quickly Cons: service, presentation, food more

Decent, but expensive 4/28/2005

I found myself at Restaurant Hama around 4:30 on a rainy Tuesday afternoon. I was quicky seated at the sushi bar and offered menus and a hot towel. The spicy tuna was good. Nice flavor and texture, with the right amount of bite to it. The California was slightly disappointing: the cucumber was too soft and the avocado didnt have much flavor, though I believe they did use real crab meat. In both cases, the rice was too sticky causing the rolls to unwrap when I attempted to pull them apart, and the nori was not crisp. The service was prompt, and the dining area seemed spacious. There was no presentation to the sushi - simply rolled, cut and placed on a plate. The prices were a bit high. Not a bad experience, though I doubt Ill be in a hurry to return considering the many other, better places. more
