What an incredible expierience! I really enjoyed my day at Renata the atmosphere is so beautiful and everybody there makes you feel so important. My husband got me a giftcertificate for a day at the spa for my birthday and I loved every service that I had. more

WASTED AN AFTERNOON 11/25/2006

My best friend and I both received SpaFinder gift certificates from our husbands earlier this year and as someone who has been to several day spas in the Tarrant County area, I was eager to try a new place. I did my research and while I saw some of the poor reviews for Renata we decide to give it a try. Whta I can tell you is the the service was uneven. Both of us had two services and I tried a haircut. We were not able to enjoy our service together because of scheduling and the building layout. I've had better massages and my girlfriend did not like her facial. She did enjoy her massage though. I ended up just trimming my hair because my stylist was unsure of the haircut I was trying to descibe to her. In the end the house is nice but if you have a place that you have tried and enjoyed elsewhere- stick with it! Pros: Nice House Cons: Have to be Lucky and get the right technician more

GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AMAZING HAIR CUTS! 11/22/2006

I moved here from California, where there are many many salons with amazing hair stylist! I was extremely worried when I moved to hick texas! I go to Lauren to get my hair cut now, and I love it, each time I visit she always is eager to share her new style with me. The front desk girls are so sweet and friendly, I feel like Jessica Simpson when I walk in there. The recieptionist always calls me by name and offers me their amazing complimentary wine. The receptionist along with all of the staff is always dressed to a t, I feel like I am back in high fashion California again! If you are looking for a hip hairstyle I think you should definatly call them!!! Pros: Friendly Staff, complimentary wine, and amazing ambiance Cons: NONE AT ALLLL! oh my gosh it is paradise when I go in there! more

Just moved into town 11/8/2006

I just moved to the area and found this spa on city search.I was having a hard time finding a salon and spa that compared to the one I went to in Calinfornia. I have had my hair cut and a facial and can't wait to try more services. I loved everything about the it. I am so thankful that I looked it up. Pros: Loved everything about it! more

Very happy curly haired customer! 10/28/2006

First, I can't help but mention how relaxed I felt merely by just walking into this spa. It is set in a beautiful historic home which creates instant ambience. I found this salon / spa on Spa Finder and decided to go in for waxing and hair cut and color. I just moved to TX from Chicago and while in Chicago, I had several bad experiences with finding a stylist who could cut curly hair. Hard to believe, I know, but very true. In fact, I was traveling back to my home town Toledo, OH to see my stylist. In any case, I made an appointment with ASHLEY and she did a FANTASTIC job cutting and coloring my hair! I couldn't be more happy! I'm a tough customer when it comes to my hair and anyone with curly hair understands that a bad cut means frizzy, unmanageable, unstylable, Rosana Danna hair for weeks!! I also highly recommend this location for underarm and bikini waxes. Everyone at the salon is very friendly and they accomodated my last minute request to change times. I will visit again next time I'm in the Dallas area. more

A friend and I were coming into town for buisness and wanted to have a day at the spa. We found this spa from this website and thought it would be a good fit. We had such a wonderful day. The people were very friendly and I felt right at home. I would highly recommend this spa to anyone who wants a warm and friendly atmosphere. more

Rude! 9/10/2006

I received a gift certificate for this place from my daughter. After forgetting that I had it, my daughter asked if I had gone. I called ask about my prepaid gift and was told they would call me back. I waited several days and then called back again. This time I was told my gift certificate had expired and there was nothing I could do about it. The person that I spoke with was very matter of fact about it. They had no problem collecting the money but wouldn't extend the date because an oversight on my part. more

Great girls day out!!! 8/31/2006

I recently held a girls party at Renata. We used all three floors which were decorated and draped as if we had gone back in time to the 1800's. We had services all day and were served complimentary champagna in between our services. The staff continually greeted us and made sure we wanted for nothing. We had a great lunch and will be back again next year for our girls day out. more

Reconsider another spa 8/18/2006

The spa is inside an old home in the downtown historic grapevine area. I had a one hour massage, the room was located upstairs, where it was really hot. I was uncomfortable throughout my entire massage, because of the heat. My actual massage was on the average. I might reconsider going to the spa in the winter. more

Disappointed 7/28/2006

As an out-of towner visiting Grapevine for a few days I was told by the hotel staff that there were several good spas in the area. My wife and I chose Renata for a massage for me a facial and pedicure for my wife. When we drove up we immediately noticed smokers outside the side door which was a huge turn off. Inside, the lady that gave me my massage never said a word which left me uncomfortable and my wife's technician was just the opposite. She wouldn't stop talking about her personal life. My wife also overheard unprofessional conversation coming from other areas. We asked to speak with the owner but were told she was not there. We were disappointed that we hadn't chosen a different spa. more

What's In a Rating? 7/11/2006

How can a place that is so average be rated so high in multiple categories, cities and years? Could it be that the owner and employees rate themselves, vote for themselves repeatedly when the vote opens and could they be writing their own fictious reviews? There are many 5 star spas in Dallas and surrounding cities that don't get this kind of recognition. I have been here and I don't get it?????? Cons: Hot in service rooms, tiny massage area more

What a Wonderful Day!!! 6/15/2006

My husband bought me the "Champagne Retreat" package which was an all day affair of pampering and beauty. It was great!! The ambiance was great with the restored Victorian home. I have been to other spas and that did add a unique touch. I highly recommend the Renata Facial. Bryda did mine and it was wonderful. I was relaxed the whole time and my face came out looking refreshed and renewed. The massage was the perfect. Angelia took her time working out all the knots my hectic job had created. I was so relaxed when I was done that I could not get off of the table. Vicki, did a great job with my nails and was the most personable nail technician I have ever encountered. I also had my hair highlighted and cut. Not the most personable gal but she did a fair job. I think the whole time she was doing my hair she did not say 2 words to me. Not impressed 5/30/2006

I am a guy so I went there with my girlfiend for a massage. I assumed that the high rating in citysearch was accurate. I was not imporssed. My massage was average. The customer service was awful. It took me 10 minute just to pay my bill because the receptionist kept answering the phone and not processing my credit card. My grilfriend's massage was worse than mine. She was shivering the whole time and was only offered a sheet. I do no recommend this place. Go elseware. more

Best haircut 3/23/2006

I have had many disappointing haircuts in my 59 years and was worried I would be getting just another bad cut, well to my surprise Ashley did a wonderful job. Not only was I able to fix my own hair the next day I still am pleased with it and its over a month later. I have never had that happen. I am going back and hope I am just as happy as the first time. They have convinced me not all spas are the same. more

Whimsical 1/11/2006

I visited this spa and salon in December. Being in the house seems magical, paired with the great services makes for a whimsical day! The staff made sure that we were served a beverage at all times and they serve a light cookie that is addicting. Lunch was a plus and served on the most delicate crystal with wine. I will definatly make it a frequent stop. more

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! 12/1/2005

My sister and I met in DFW for a birthday celebration and spent a whole day at Renata getting massages, facials, pedicures, manicures, hair imagining, cuts, and makeup. Every service was excellent, and the staff members are so friendly we felt like we were hanging out with girlfriends. The lunch was excellent and served in a private, beautiful dining area. I've had spa lunches before where I'm watching people walk in and out while I eat. None of that at Renata. We enjoyed our time so much we plan to make this an annual event. The hot tea bar, complimentary wine, and gorgeous surrounds were also great. Pros: friendly service, good value, lots of extras Cons: can't think of any! more

Small town feel with a Big city quality 10/4/2005

After trying to find a good quality, high-end salon in the uptown/highland park area in Dallas and having miserable experiences, I decided to take a chance and venture to Grapevine and check out the highly recommended Renata Salon and Spa. I like trendy haircuts and I was a little skeptical if a small city would be able to provide me with the style I wanted. To my surprise, Renata was beyond superb! The girl who cut my hair was very cut and trendy, all the stylists were friendly and even the receptionist chitchatted with me. Located in a historic house in downtown Grapevine, this salon provided me with a professional haircut, a quaint environment and an enjoyable staff. I highly recommend this salon! I recently enjoyed a local "getaway weekend" at the bed & breakfast across the street. The fact that your salon / day spa was so close was an added bonus but I never expected to be treated the way your staff treated me. Tina, you made me feel like I was the only person there with all of your attention. The staff knew my name and went over each treatment and what I could expect with each. Sherry, I have been to many spas and have yet to ever see the owner. Your presence there and your warmness made this a very special experience.
