Not a Remedy for Hunger 8/3/2011

Auto problems led to this bad discovery. If eating to AM radio is your choice, hey, this is the place for you (5 minutes of blaring commercials and 3 minutes of very metallic rock music). For me, no. My husband asked (very politely) if they could lower the volume. They did. Then, in typical guerrilla LES fashion, they turned it back up right after the food was delivered! Management as terrorism is a new category. My husband's dish was tasted and then untouched (the calimari - avoid). I know that the LES is hip but sometimes hip is indeed LESS and so it is with this ""diner.""\r more

Waste of money 5/18/2010

I live nearby and figured it'd be convenient and cheap to order dinner. To start the guy who took my order over the phone was rude and full of attitude. The meal came quickly but it was way overpriced-$17 for chicken fingers and fries? The chicken fingers were absolutely tasteless and overly breaded. The fries came in a soggy clump. Just gross. And this was the second time I ordered from this place. I thought I'd give them another chance. Sorry I did! more

DISGUSTING 3/1/2010

i never waste time writing these silly reviews, but this is literally one of the worst places in new york. the waitstaff is completely incompetent, the kitchen sends out some of the most inedible, disgusting foodstuffs i've ever seen, and the management is absolutely non-existent. this place was okay when it first opened, but it has gone downhill very quickly. word to the wise - and to anyone who has any dining standards whatsoever - avoid this place at all costs. there are many, many restaurants nearby with exponentially better eats to offer. this place should be condemned. i wish i could give it negative stars. Cons: terrible service, vile food more

Tasteless food, hour delivery and salty phone staff! Yay! 2/23/2010

This is without a doubt the single worst meal I've had, delivered or in the restaurant, in the last year - maybe longer. The unfathomably unappetizing food was only topped by the attitude I received when I tried to get my order corrected. When I was on the phone with them, I first placed and order for a meatball sub but quickly changed my mind and switched that to a philly cheesesteak. When the order came, they sent me both a philly cheesteak and a meatball sub. When I called back to have the bill fixed, the man on the other end put me on hold for 5 minutes before putting on the attendant that actually took my order. He promptly told me that I needed to be more clear when ordering on the phone and that it was my fault. After a lot of haggling, he agreed to fix my bill and was adamant about sending someone over to pick up the sandwich (which I had no interest in eating anyway; the sandwich looked disgusting). Bummed but still hungry, I dug into my philly cheesesteak. Cheesesteaks aside, it was one of the single worst sandwiches that I've ever eaten in my life. Fries (ordered well done) were undercooked and raw. I wish this story ended there, but I'm still waiting for the delivery guy to come and pick up this monstrosity of a meatball sub. By the by...why doesn't Yelp give the option to rate something zero stars? This place certainly qualifies. As a matter of fact, I kinda wish they allowed negative stars for the kind of experience I had. Pros: I avoided vomiting and haven't had to go to the hospital yet Cons: Everything else. more

Food was good, but they rushed us out! 1/28/2010

My friend was in from out of town, and we ate at Remedy because it was close to her hotel. It was a slow Thursday night, and from what we could see, the place was not hurting for open tables. Because of this, we were very surprised when they dropped a check on us and then lingered around our table waiting for payment as we finished our pitcher of beer. We were continuously ordering food and drinks during the course of our time there, so it wasn't like we were just sipping on water and not buying anything. It's one thing if our waiter was going off of his shift and needed the check to be cashed out, but the way the whole thing played out kind of made my friend and I feel unwelcome. I don't think I'd go back. There's plenty of other places for a burger and beer in the area. Pros: Free bruchetta, water refills, attentive staff, very clean Cons: Kinda unwelcome more

Great Dinner in the LES/East Village 10/26/2009

We came here for Brunch because we were too hungry to wait for Clinton Street Baking. So glad we decided to check it out! The breakfast was great! Not too greasy and really filling with huge portions. \r \r We loved the place, very well designed. Imagine being in Back to the Future in this diner. It is really clean, kitchy, and new yet ad a cool old time diner at the same time. Definitely going back!\r Pros: Great Brunch, Coffee and Atmosphere more

Very average 9/13/2009

Came here at 4am with some friends but it wasn't very good. There was really no one in the joint yet the waitress was taking forever to take our orders, deliver our food, and couldn't be bothered to refill our water. My noodles were pretty plain and my pals thought their meals were just Ok. The dessert was good I guess, but that's about it. Pros: Open 24 hrs Cons: Food is nothing special more
