Regal Gateway IMAX & 4DX

the gateway 16 theater is a nice place for entertainment. they provide good seats and good sound system. the theater seems to be very clean. they have a nice food courts that you can get refreshment. they do not seem to check tickets all the time, but it is not encouraged to free pass. more

This is my very favorite movie theatre. It is never too cold or too hot in there. The seats are always clean. The floor is always clean. More importantly, the bathrooms are always clean. The prices, well, as we all know, the price of movies isn't cheap anymore, so I don't hold it against the theatre. The staff is very nice for the most part. Oh, and did I mention that they do Fangango? Ahh..how I love this! They even have a separate ATM like machine if you have bought your tickets from Fandango. That way you don't have to stand in line! Yippee! The snack bar doesn't take credit/debit, but there is an ATM in the lobby. Once I lost my wallet there and the folks here went above and beyond to get it back to me. A+ in my book. more

I. hate. Gateway. I'm sorry. But I do. The parking is bad (I've seen trucks parked up on the grass because there were no spaces!), they sell out fast, and worst of all--there is NO leg space. I have never gotten through a movie without my legs cramping like crazy and my knees aching long after the movie ends. And I'm not even tall! It's much worse for some of my friends. Sure, they have big screens and stadium seating, but it's just not worth it. Go to the Alamo. more

Gateway Theater is in a very nice area, and always seems to get the special screenings in Austin. They do lack parking however. The tickets are a nice price, and Baby A's is across the street to go have dinner at afterward. The theater is pretty state of the art. It is also very clean! more

Terrible parking. TERRIBLE no matter what time of day you go. Even worse when it's hotter than hell and you have to walk a mile over to the ticket booth. MISERABLE prices. Almost $7 for a "bargain matinee" AIN'T no bargain. That price is why I prefer NetFlix and bet many others do so as well. Chairs are comfortable, but the whole time I am annoyed that the prices are so outrageous. more

This theater is high tech. It has stadium seating and credit card machines so you don't have to stand in line for tickets. I have two complaints. It is hard to park at this theater unless you get lucky and catch people leaving the last showing. My second complaint is that they change the schedule around on a whim, but only update it on Fandango. We've planned our day around seeing a movie who's listing we saw on an Austin movie website, only to find out they cancelled the rest of shows for the day with no excuse. There's nothing more frustrating than fighting for parking, standing in line, and finding out the move you want to see is no longer playing that day. So check their Fandango site, or you may not see the movie you planned to see. more
