Gold Mine--Just okay 4/26/2008

Would recommend for age 4 and older. We took our one y.o. and 3 1/2 y.o. To pan for gold, you need to be able to hold a pretty heavy ""pan"" of dirt though our one y.o. thoroughly enjoyed picking up rocks around the panning area. They have an educational tour & video (25 min long) that sounded interesting but too long for our children. Miner hats with lights $10.00. Too cute. Pans of dirt $2.00 a peice. You may want to call before going to make sure there are not any ""events"" going on the day you're planning to go. We showed up at 9:30 and waited 15-20 min for a staff member to get to the panning area. Apparently they had mine ""inspections"" and although there were 5-6 people in the gift shop there was no one else that could help us. Pros: Lots to do for older children Cons: Need more staff on the weekends more
