do you like hanging out with snobs and people who think they're better than you? Go to Redstone!

Went for a special Mother's Day dinner. 6/7/2012

Went for a special Mother's Day dinner. Redstone is NOT special anymore, at least not for us. Sea Bass was excellent but every other entree (three different steaks) were way sub-par. The dinneres took quite some time to arrive so it may be that something (most likely the fish) was flubbed and had to be redone while the steaks languished under the lights. Not high quality meat and not properly prepared. Potatoes were lukewarm at best - not hot enough to melt the butter. VERY disappointed. This used to be a really nice place for a ""special"" occasion but it's Wildfire for me in the future. more

Great for casual Business meetings! 11/10/2011

Great Food! Excellent, Polite workers! more

The single most disgusting display of dark human behavior 2/4/2011

Arriving and seeing what looks to be happy couples leaving gives the reassurance that the Red Stone is an upscale establishment only to find that it's nothing more than a pick up spot for hopefully divorced and midlife crisis people. I had plenty of time to observe what was happening at the bar because the staff was more interested in trying to pick up the younger female patrons, 7pm the lights are low, most likely to hide the age of the customers, the rest is a memory I don't want, I didn't even stay for one drink, it's enough to make you puke and believe me I've been around the block a few times and I'm no angel. more

ALL TIME FAVORITE 8/8/2010

Redstone has become our all time favorite restaurant. My husband and I eat our numerous times during the week and Redstone is one our list no less than twice during that time. The staff is very warm and friendly....we get hugs and smiles from them all and they remember our names. more

Excellent! both service and food! 5/13/2010

The service was excellent. Everyone was warm and friendly and VERY professional. The food was amazing. Great presentation and so yummy! I had the Sea Bass. It came to me piping hot and the absolute best. My husband had the ribs and still can't not stop raving about them! I can not wait to go back. It was a perfectly wonderful experience. Thank you Redstone! Pros: i felt like i was walking into a friends home Cons: loved every thing more

Terrible Service 3/24/2010

We have visited a few times in the past month. The bartenders always seem to busy in their own conversations. I am so tired of always getting hit on by the bar staff. My girl friend and I just want to sit and have a drink after work. Pros: Nice location Cons: Bartenders more

Great Place to Dance on Wednesday nights 10/6/2009

It is one of the few places in Eden Prairie that you can bring your wife to dance and have fun. The crowd is sometimes a bit crazy but people watching is half the fun. Pros: Good Food, Great Atmosphere, Great Outdoor area Cons: It can be expensive and crowded more

too typical 8/24/2009

Just a typical over the top restaurant with expensive items on the menu and a very expensive drink menu. Not impressed. I'm especially not impressed with the management and their unloyalty to their employees. more

Good Music, Nice atmosphere... 9/18/2008

Went there for first time last Saturday and from all of the good things that I heard, my expectations were met. The outdoor patio bar was excellent. Must try the fondue appetizer..excellent. I wouldn't reccommend the burgers, but chicken dishes are worth every penny...tender and seasoned just right! Pros: Music, people, ambience Cons: burgers, bottle size of Moscato(very small) more

Great food, creative menu, excellent service, spotless restaurant! 7/5/2008

High marks for their attention to detail - service, food, spotless! I think Redstone (not Red Stone) is one of the most consistent restaurants in the Twin Cities - they have it figured out. I would recommend reservations if you plan to go on a weekday lunch or weekend night, they tend to get packed. Their ""Seared Ahi Tunu"" is one of the best appetizers in all of the food world - they sear the tuna (then chill it) and present it beautifully on a long platter with excellent sauce. Their ""Lodge Cornbread"" is prepared in a cast-iron skillet and brought to the table with some sort of magical maple-flavored butter - yum! They also do a really nice job with their chicken, served skin-on like from a carving station. Drinks on the patio with their mini-Bellagio water fountains is Minnesota Summer at its finest! Pros: Great food, friendly service, spotless restaurant - everything! Cons: (none) more

Menu is boring and always overpriced 6/19/2008

The atmosphere at Redstone is the only reason we go- and we're there usually twice a month because there are so few choices out here in the 'burbs. What is it in Minnesota that there's nada for decent dining in the suburbs- other cities are not this way. more

Ouch!!! 5/6/2008

Wow! I would write a review but we are unable to go to this restaurant. On any day of the year - to have a restaurant make a mistake - Mother's Day would be the worst. ""Unable to accomodate the reservation"" is completely unacceptable. To find out the Tuesday before Mother's Day that your reservation can not be accomodated and would need to split up is a major dissappointment. To say that ""I am handling the reservations personally"" is an even bigger mistake when obviously this is not true. Luckily the restaurants that I have worked for have taken care of any mistakes - especially if they were 100% ours!! Good luck in all that you do - you will need it. Cons: Nothing more to say. more

Not at the top of our list anymore 4/6/2008

Based on previous visits, we had come to expect top-notch food and service. Unfortunately, that was not the case. We were assured by phone that they would have no trouble seating us at 6:30. When we arrived, we were advised of a 30-40 minute wait or the possibility of a table at the bar. We accepted the tiny table in the bar area but it was so noisy we weren't able to converse in normal tones. Our waiter was not very attentive and did not follow through with even minor things like water to drink and promising to send someone over to level our wobbly table. The sea bass was good, but didn't compare to the last time I had it. It was drowning in butter (normally I love butter) and the bass and vegetables did not benefit. Their cornbread was also a personal favorite but wasn't nearly as moist, sweet and tasty as the last time. Is there a new chef that has made changes? Has anyone else noticed a change for the worse? Or is it just a matter of being inconsistent? more

Don't Go on a Busy Night (NYE 2007), or Ever 1/1/2008

Wife and I made rez for 7:30 P.M. a few days earlier. Were told that if 15 minutes late we'd loose the rez - fair enough, for NYE. Table had a 2 hour time limit - fair enough. We arrived early at 6:30 to have a drink and get seated early perhaps. Upon entering, something was really wrong. The foyer and bar was packed elbow-to-elbow. Never saw so many people waiting at a restaurant using rez's. Log-sheet guy said they were 25 minutes behind, but our 7:30 is OK. We couldn't see people leave from our vantage but by 7:45 very few people had been seated. I called Biaggi's nearby. Their wait was 50 minutes, so made a rez as a back-up. We set our limit at 8:00. Moved to the foyer about 7:50 and heard others upset about the long delay with a rez. At 8:00 we were still at least a dozen names away from being called. I handed the notifier back to the attendant, pointed to our name and said we're leaving. He told me that we should get called ""pretty quick"" - they were running 25 minutes behind. We were already 30 minutes late, I pointed out, with another 15-20 minutes likely. I recapped our situation, he replied ""what can I do for you?"". I thought - what he can do for me is get me a table within a half hour of my reservation time. Arrived at Biaggi's minutes later and found a near empty foyer, 2 empty seats at the bar to wait on, a much quieter atmosphere, full dining room and were told to expect to be called 10-15 minutes early. Nice. We were called 10 mintes early and had a wonderful dinner. On the way out I told their podium staff about our Redstone experience and the 3 workers said ""we hear that all the time"". Redstone operates like a grand opening. If this was their first NYE, I can see some schedule problems. How could they be so over booked with those 15 minute late / 2 hour table limit rules? Thinking back, when the attendant asked what he could do for me, I should have asked for the $25 back from the Redstone bar waiting for a reservation. Pros: Nice interior Cons: Poor rez management. Noisy. more

Will never return.... 10/17/2007

The last two experiences at Redstone have been disasterous. I have been going there for years, and thought the food was good, and service could be good and bad, but generally had a good experience. The 2nd to the last time, both myself and my lunch partner got sick on a salad, and when we called the restaurant to report it, the staff answering the phone was rude and insinuated that they hadn't gotten other complaints, so it must have been another reason. She said she would have a manager call, which never happened. We also met friends there last evening. Our server was relatively new, but nice. We were there for 3 1/2 hours, and had 5 bottles of wine, and extensive appetizers. Our server informed us that her manager would not serve us another bottle of wine, as we had already had enough. There were 5 of us. The manager never showed up to see if we were driving, if anyone was not drinking, etc. etc. When we asked a server, whom we knew, about this, she said it was a result of a new server...and that it wouldn't have happened with her, as the driver was fine. This restaurant is not the only restaurant in town. I can't imagine ever going back. We are adults, respectable family and business people, whose only intent was to get together with friends and have a good time. We had our dessert, coffee, and left. We will never go back. There are other places who want our business and our money. The management needs to get a clue....to not even ask before assuming is unacceptable. more

Redstone never fails 9/21/2007

For great food, good company & excellent service, Redstone never fails. I've been to both locations several times but I am truly loyal to EP- I just love the upbeat atmosphere & ever changing crowd. Yesterday a group of 4 of us stopped in for a late night dinner. (That?s another great thing! Kitchen is open late!!!!) We ordered our usual favorites: hot artichoke dip, buffalo shrimp and ahi tuna. For the main course, my fiance and I shared the chicken w/mashed potatoes and asparagus (portions are all large), I've had almost everything off the menu but this dish is ALWAYS fulfilling. My favorite dessert is the chocolate chip sundae w/ice cream which melts in your mouth, It was too bad we had no room for it but it gives me yet another excuse to go back! more

Nice location, maybe a little pricey, no reservations is an annoyance 7/23/2007

Had to wait 45mins for a table outdoors; not a terrible thing as we had nothing else planned but not being able to reserve is a real pain if you ask me. Menu seemed varied and my wife's tuna was very nice. My steak (crusted blue cheese) was okay but not great; for $35 I was expecting a little better. Desert (banana custard pie) was very nice and simple but needed more bananas. Waitress was good and attentive, staff manning the bar outdoors weren't that friendly. Pros: Location, decent sized menu Cons: Price for some items, no reservations more

Sorry - You've Lost Some Good Repeat Customers 12/6/2006

Called several weeks ago to make a reservation for 6. Was told that they don't take reservations anymore. Arrived at the restaurant at 4:30 on Wednesday, told the hostess that we would be 6 for dinner. We were seated when all of us arrived but were told that a table that we requested was reserved(!!) so we couldn't have it. We were led to another table and told that a group was arriving at 7:15 for this table. WHY COULDN'T WE RESERVE A TABLE WHEN OTHERS COULD??? We were rushed through dinner. A hostess then stopped at the table and asked how much longer we would be before leaving(!). We will never darken the doors of this restaurant again. Beware - there are evidently two classes of customers - one class can make reservations, the other is rushed. By the way, the scalloped potatoes tasted pre-boxed. Pros: Ambience Cons: Loud music (too loud for conversation), poor PR, poor attitude more

4 thumps up! 1/16/2006

The Redstone menu reflects the eclectic culture of Eden Prairie ... many tastes to appreciate. I have been to the restaurant for social occasions and business luncheons, even interviews. The food was above standard for Minneapolis. The staff makes everyone feel welcome. I am on my way for lunch today in this pleasant suburban venue. Pros: outdoor views, fireplace, quality service Cons: could close later more

Glitz, glamour and sauce can't hide sub-par food 1/8/2006

The prices here match those of some of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities, but the food quality falls far short. They seem to be making it on their atmosphere and ""trendy"" image. Second-tier food at first-tier prices. My mahi-mahi was overcooked and the sauce, while tasty, was overpowering - could have been cod! The waitress was a mile off on the wine pairing and never asked if our food was good. Next time I'll stick to the bar. As with the other reviews, prepare for silicone-enhanced 30- and 40- somethings trying to look good. Their food and service seems to suffer the same failings of a facade too good for its quality on the inside. Pros: Interesting atmospher, Good bar/bartenders, appetizers Cons: Sub-par entrees, Overpriced, Mediocre service more
