Where am I? 12/7/2008

Where can you get a beer for 5.75 on Colfax? The Red Room. Always enjoyed the colfax scene...it is a little edgier older and wiser than other areas of Denver.... And the cost of a beer was always reasonable...right? Not anymore...LODO has arrived. Although you won't get the idiot-bots that frequent the downtown...you definitely get the prices. I can think of better places to enjoy a beer on Colfax and will. more

Avoid at all costs 7/4/2008

Nowhere near as good as the old Red Room. Though the bar and crowd are unavoidably yee-haw most of the time, the sandwiches are decent. The servers are friendly, but if you want to get in the place enter through Colfax at all costs! The surrounding alley and ""makeshift"" back patio are always soaked with a pungent stench of urine. Pros: good sandwiches ,nice servers Cons: mouths of staff very beligerent more

Cool Atmoshpere, gorgeous ladies 6/26/2008

I occasionally find myself at the Red Room on Weekend nights to kick back with some pals and cocktails and enjoy the night. The Red Room is a great place to do this, with a very laidback atmosphere, but also a good place to meet people. The drinks aren't outrageously expensive and they have pretty good food too. Definitely a good place to check out. more

Delicious food and good cocktails 6/24/2008

The Red Room has reopened! It's open 7 days a week 11am-2am. It has delicious comfort food and great prices. Its a great atmosphere, good for lunch and happy hour! try the fried mac and cheese, the tomato soup or the rabbi sandwich!! I highly recommend it!!! Pros: ambience, food, pool table, back patio, up stairs that can be used for big groups. Cons: parking. there is a lot behind the alley but its mostly street. more

Good beer, surprising food 9/8/2007

The Red Room is a fairly comfortable place to grab a beer, even on a Friday night. The beer selection is nice, featuring a variety of Colorado breweries (Odell, New Belgium, et al.) as well as a few from abroad. The recent (I think) addition of a small pool table in back is a nice place (and cheaper than most, too). Pros: Good beer selection, good eats, good/friendly service, quiet enough to carry on a conversation Cons: Standard bar-style musical choices, some entrees can be a bit pricey more

An all-around great neighborhood bar/restaurant! 7/17/2006

Given the location of this place, its amazing how great the food and service are. I love that it isn't as pretentious as LODO, and its like 10x cheaper. Along with all the cool new places on 17th, this is an awesome stop for uptown dwellers. I hated how smoky the place was, but that isn't an issue anymore. Love it. Oh yeah....killer brunch on Sundays!!! Cons: The neighborhood has a worse reputation than it deserves. more

our favorite 12/31/2005

great food at great prices!!! my wife and i visit atleast once a week. we've tried many other restaurants in denver, and for the same quality dining you'd pay twice anywhere else. the cosmos are the best in the city -- dave (bartender) makes them perfectly -- strong, not too sweet. Pros: food, cosmos, value Cons: location more

Great Food, Super Smokey 11/19/2005

Service is great.. food is wonderful, we had the brie bruschetta, the spinach salad and the Red Room chicken, our waitress split everything for us, no extra charge. The food was WONDERFUL, didn't care for the sweet butter on the rolls, but rolls were good. The Red Room chicken is really top notch. The place is super smokey, but other than that is was very very good.. Pros: Great Location, Wonderful Food, GREATService Cons: Poor Ventilation, Thick Smoke, Very Smokey more

Need a little more dance floor??? 9/5/2005

Everything was great! Just needs better music and a bigger dance floor for those who wanna shake a little dance. Upstairs needs a little more decor. Especially the tables... give us some booth..so we can relax and chill...maybe lay down a little and get a little cozy. I like that one booth were they have the 2 giantic cushion...Give us more like that! Then this place will all be PERFECT! More customer more business! Pros: Not Crowded at all, Needs better Music, Dance Floor? Cons: Roomy, Not enough ROOM more

better than ""LoDo"" 6/11/2004

interesting, if not ""scary"" part of Colfax Ave. but good happy hour, GREAT hot wings & fries, great bartenders--best service i've had, above average waitresses. try to get a seat at the bar if you can! booths are perfect for dates, quiet time, etc. food has evolved a ton since day one! menu now is awesome--new chef, i think. still better than downtown! Pros: bar service amazing, easy parking, great food more

if you wanna go somewhere else... 6/21/2003

Go here. Not bad, waitresses are slow, and a little rude. Bartenders are nice. more
