Red Apple Pancake House

The food is great and the service is superb! Portions are HUGE!!!! The two greek guys that have it are great and very attentive. The only problem is one of the guy's wife. She passes by and asks me mid-bite if everything is ok which I find very rude since I have been asked by waitress already 10 times! Also I tend to see her sitting down with customer's which I find very unprofessional. I go in every weekend but avoid her at all costs. Pros: HuGE Portions Cons: Owner's wife more

We went here for the first time 1/21/06. The smoking section is next to the waiting area, and we waited for about 30 minutes. I felt the wait was fine for a saturday morning, but the whole restaurant, and especially the waiting area was under a blue haze of cigarette smoke. We were seated on the far end of the restaurant, but the smoke was still overwhelming. Excellent food, reasonable prices, and fast, friendly service were overshadowed by the fact that we all went home to shower and change. We'll be back after they go non smoking. Two years ago, on our vacation to my husband's hometown of Chicago, we stumbled upon this restaurant. We have three sons, and thought it looked like a place that everyone would find something they'd enjoy. We were NOT mistaken. The atmosphere immediately made us feel comfortable there, and the food was incredible. Take those two things and add top notch service and a great value on price. That is a winning combination. We enjoyed the restaurant so much, that last year when we came up to Chicago for a family reunion, we made sure we made time to stop in and have breakfast again. Some places change over time, get a little careless and not so attentive. This place HAS NOT. It is still as amazing as it was our first time, and we plan on making another trip this summer just to eat at the Red Apple Pancake House!!! Pros: Delicious menu, Great Service, Great prices more
