Wow, folks who don't like Dr Duffy must have gotten up on the wrong side of the bed that day. We've been going to her for... 19 years now, she has taken care of all 7 of the cats we've had over the years. Started going to her partially because she is a cat specialist and partially because she was close to where we used to live - now we've moved about 25 miles away but we still make the trek back to her, in spite of a ton of closer vets, because we can't imagine taking any of our furry babies to anyone else. more

Great Cat Vet: I found Dr. Duffy to be very professional, friendly and extemely knowledgeable. This was our first visit and my cat felt very at ease with Dr Duffy even as she drew blood. He is an older cat and I expect only the best from a vet and that was what I experienced. more

\r Our experience was surprisingly terrible. Dr Duffy was the least professional physician (animal or human) I have ever run across. When she entered the room, our cat hissed. He was nervous and I think that is a normal reaction. She then refused to give our cat a shot and justified it by saying we told her our cat was aggressive and that the last vet we went to had refused to see him again?? She literally put words in our mouth and made things up that were never said! P.S (He is an indoor cat that has been to vets since birth). She was then condescending, irrational and literally shut down when you tried to logically talk to her.\r \r So if you are looking for a fun experience like we had, give her a call today! more

Dr. Duffy is one heck of a veterinarian! Not only is she great with the medical care of my cats but she also helped me with a urinary behavior problem with one of them. It's amazing how much she knows about cats! I have been a client for 15 yrs and would highly recommend her and her staff to anyone. more

Dr. Duffy's Response to Heidi H.\r Heidi H. had been to another vet AND a Pet Store to purchase numerous flea products for her cat's flea problem. Her cat still had fleas so I tried to help her find a solution. She was mistakenly putting the topical flea product over her cat's shoulders where the cat could lick it off. She didn't believe me when I rec. putting it higher on the neck so I was trying to get her to read the directions on the package. I also rec. a professional exterminator which also upset her. I was only trying to help her cat get rid of these awful fleas! She was frustrated with her flea problem and, unfortunately,I was the 3rd person she'd talked with and got the brunt of her frustration!\r \r Thanks for listening to my side of the story\r Dr. Marguerite Duffy more

What a wonderful pet/cat ""CAREGIVER!"" 12/11/2011

I want to take a moment to share my experience and thoughts about Dr. Duffy. My pet cat is getting old and is beginning to have some complications so I took her to the Raleigh Cat Clinic and Dr Duffy at the suggestion of a friend. What a wonderful experience entering the front doors there is such a warmth and caring feeling. Some other Vets. I have used in the past are ""Profiteers, all about the $oney!"" Dr. Duffy is a true pet/cat ""CAREGIVER!"" The cat comes first! If you are a cat lover the Raleigh Cat Clinic is awesome! more

I was very unhappy with this vet's abrasive attitude, she was very rude to me when she called me up on the phone and explained that i had to get a handle on my cat's fleas, I told her that i have spent hundreds on flea medicines for him and she questioned me like i was lying to her, She said well you haven't had the cat that long to have spent that much! I tried to tell that i spent 80.00 with grooming, flea collars, flea powder, carpet spray,herbal spray, so then she said well you need to get an exterminator in!! I then asked her if the vet tech could show me how to apply the medicine and there was a long silence on the phone! She said she would apply the medicine and i would see where it was applied in his back. She told me the directions were on the box! She has awful bedside manners so to speak, not a good listener, She may know cats but that's about it!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE!!!! I am going to find a more compassionate vet!!!!! more

If You Love Your Cat - This is Your Vet 3/9/2011

If you have a cat you care about, then Raleigh Cat Clinic is where you want to be. Not only does she know more about cats than any vet in Raleigh, even some of the specialty clinics call for her opinion. She never gives up on a cat. She will do research, agonize over it, make any number of calls to consult with others, and nine times out of ten, she will save a cat others may have given up on. She has been my vet for fifteen years and I have many cats. She knows them, she is concerned about them, and I never have to worry that maybe something could have been done that wasn't. She manages her practice for the benefit of the cat which may not always be perfect for the owner. I appreciate that. Her staff is wonderful. Dr. Duffy cares so much for cats that I know many things bother her that the client will never know about. She is honest and blunt, she never gouges her clients and works hard to hold her prices down. If your main concern is to have the absolute best care for your more

She's the One 3/1/2011

This vet knows cats. Period. I had a cat, who passed away a year ago from a brain tumor. When he started acting strangely, it was a weekend, so I took him to an emergency clinic and they diagnosed constipation. I didn't think him lying on the floor not moving, was due to constipation. So as soon as I could get in to see Dr. Duffy, she knew immediately it was something neurological. Then, one of my older cats who has seen her for over 10 years, got an open sore under his chin, another weekend vet said it was a tooth abcess, which it was not. When he saw Dr. Duffy she noted the tooth and nerve were fine. I have had numerous wrong diagnoses from other vets, so now I won't take them to any other vet besides her as long as I live here. She has very reasonable prices on all procedures and I can tell she is very devoted to cats. My older cat has had numerous dentals and always been fine. \r \r If you want your cats taken well care of by someone who truly knows her stuff, come here. more

I am Dr. Duffy and would ask that you consider deleting the post from foodangel2 in 2008 because:\r This women makes horrible accusations without proof like ""money grubbing vet, rough treatment of cats and manhandled my cat."" It doesn't seem appropriate to post such mean-spirited personal attacks on your site. If I handled cats like that, I would be out of business!! \r I have devoted my life to being a feline vet. Posts like this on sites where the business owner can't respond are quite devastating and unfair. Terrible experience 1/29/2011

I years ago had gone to Dr. Duffy and also found her to be lets say a little different.As a cat owner I did'nt feel as if I needed to become best friends with the vet only that my cats should have good care.She was always abrupt very quick to cut you short while you were speaking so I started asking some of my clients if they knew of a good vet for cats, and when I asked I realized at some point they had all gone to her but left because she wa absolutely too hard to deal with.For all the people that like Dr. Duffy, consider yourself in the minority and lucky, because that is NOT the normal experience.. more

BEST CAT VET IN RALIEGH 10/28/2010

My cat is not the friendliest. My last vet visit in 2001 was my last because of his behavior. Now after visiting Dr. Duffy and her staff I have a feeling it was the vets skills in handling my special guy that caused me not to visit a vet in 10 years!! Dr. Duffy is very skilled in handling all kinds of temperments! From the moment I walked in they took me into a secluded room to comfort of my problem cat. It was great!! No dogs, no birds, no owners. She handled him awesome...she could examine him(even though he hissed at her multiple times), put him back in his cage without issue. Never had this happen before. Long story short...my boy had 4 teeth removed and they treated him and me incrediable. Dr. Duffy and staff were the best vet experience my cat and I have ever had!!! more

Best Vet For Cats 1/5/2010

Dr. Duffy always puts the cats care first.. She explains what she is doing, and why.. and also tells you the cost. She will answer your questions openly, honestly ( and i am sure some don't like that)... I love that. She is the cats advocate - she is more than affordable, it is obvious profit isn't her first concern - it is the needs of the animal. The office isn't fancy, but the standard of care is the best in the area. i can't imagine not using her for my cats. Pros: Cats care comes first Cons: Can't think of any more

Raleigh Cat Clinic is great 12/21/2009

We've been taking our cats to Dr Duffy since we moved to town in '94 and have felt like we and our cats are in very good hands. In fact, even though we've moved twenty miles further away, we still make the effort to take the cats to her because we trust her to know what she's doing and provide the best for our furry family members. more

My Opinion 11/29/2009

My Opinion Eveyone should know that the business owners are not allowed to post their side of the story when a negative comment is posted on this site. So, you are only hearing one side of the story which is really not fair to Dr. Duffy. My mother used to say that there are three sides to every story-- your side, their side, and the truth. I would sure like to hear Dr. Duffy's response to the negative comment as I think it woud be quite interesting. As a consumer, I would like to have the opportunity to hear both sides of the complaint so I can make an informed decison. Debi more

Loving, reasonable vet 2/26/2009

Dr. Duffy has been our vet for approximately 13 years. I read with interest the two uncomplimentary reviews because this has NEVER been our experience! We had a diabetic cat & we were there a LOT, trying to keep her diabetes under control. Dr. Duffy & her staff have been WONDERFUL & obviously cared for our cats. Her rates are reasonable & her staff is efficient. Our furbabies have been treated with gentleness & kindness & don't mind going to see their doctor. \r \r While we were out of town, our elderly diabetic cat had a stroke & was suffering. When we were given no hope of her recovery by the local vet, so we had her put to sleep. When I talked to Dr. Duffy on the phone about our loss, she was compassionate. If was obvious to me that she loved our kitty too. Pros: Loving, reasonable, gentle, efficient Cons: none more

Great Staff that cares 2/17/2009

Not sure where ""foodangel5"" visited. Dr. Duffy is one of the ""good guys"". Its refreshing to visit a vet who actually cares about animals over profits. My experience has been the opposite of foodangel5's. Dr. Duffy is someone who not only cares about the animals she sees, but her prices are very reasonable. When I have talked to other folks who have been to different vets, I am amazed at the amount of expensive tests that get run. The Raleigh Cat Clinic is not fancy by any means, but it is run by good folks who put the care of your cat first. more

Raleigh Cat Clinic was the first specialized cat clinic in the area, if not the state and has years of experience and knowledge in how to not only take care of cats, but to do it right and save you money in the process by not running a hundred expensive tests just to figure out simple ailments. The staff and even the other clients have come to be friends and even family to me, throughout the years and I always recommend Dr Duffy any chance I get. My cat can be a handful and doesn't like too many people, but is always comfortable around Dr. Duffy and the staff and has always been treated well and taken care of. Best Cat Doctor ANYWHERE 10/28/2008

Dr. Duffey has been taking care of my six cats up to 14 years. She is wonderful. She loves each patient and is kind and tender to them. She takes time w/her patients ""parents"" to help them understand what we need to do help our ""children"" when they are sick. She has even helped me learn to give an IV to my cat w/renal failure. She has been there when my husband died of pancreatic cancer three years ago. She is a dear person to know and I totally trust her judgement when treating my cats. more
