I am a straight white girl, who LOVES Latino Night at RCC. I don't even know where to start, I guess I'll start with the fact, I always go with my best-friend, Victor, whom rocks my latino night world!!! Ok anyway, the door guy Daniel is awesome! Always up for jokes and chit chatting, the bartender's Sam; wears this awesome neon thong that he will show you on demand. Jamie is awesome too, he has never been a drag queen, just a "man in a dress." And Angel is fabulous!!! She hooks it up, for me and my friends!! We love her. The DJ, Alex is such a cutie, and always plays my favorite song, Baby Te Quiero by Flex y Belinda and plays a sweet mix of Selena, he also makes sure to throw some hip hop in there. The Owner is the sweetest Lady and deserves major props for having such a nice managed club. They have a very cozy patio to go out and smoke on and shoot the breeze. I would definitely recommend this club to everybody, that is down for the alternative lifestyle, which living in Austin, you all should be, and if you aren't down with it, go back under your rock. So, Sunday night is definitely when you'll see me there, with a smile on my face, and a corona in my left hand and a cherry vodka sour in the right :) Also, you should come out on Thursday Nights, for hip hop night aka Lesi Night. :) Pros: The music, the dancing, the dj, the bartenders, the boys Cons: Not a damn thing!!! more

Saturday night was my first trip to the rainbow cattle company.... as soon as i walked in the door i was amazed. the atmosphere there just makes you feel welcome and able to be your self. un like at other places where its touch ang go on showing affection it was awesom and i loved it. i would and have recomended this place to all of my friends and ever one i have class with. i hope to have many more nights of fun at the rainbow cattle company! more

all i can say is that this is the best club/ bar i've ever been to... the atmosphere is layed back and relaxed, the drinks are smooth and strong, and the music is def. popping. on thurs its ladies\hip hop nite which is def. when i think you see the largest crowd. the staff is friendly and if you go enough you'll get to know them by name..its kinda like the cheers for the gay crowd ( only better with more attractive people) Pros: great staff, awesome music, only place where women can use the mens restroom and is not be weird 8 ) more

My husband and I stopped in around 12:30AM. Great dance floor, great Latin music mix on Sunday night but way too hot! I almost passed out and we had to leave because you could not breath and dance at the same time! Lots of gay men so if you're uncomfortable with that, then this is not the place for you. If you don't care, then try it out because everyone is friendly and welcoming. Pros: Great music, Great dance floor, Great mix of people Cons: Too hot and stifling more

Sometimes I go here just for the great sound system. Al of the people are really nice and the bar tenders remember your name, which is really nice of them. more

The club has a great vibe, even if you are not into country dancing... fun to watch the line dances, and always entertaining to see the cowboys dancing together!! Non-country music later on is fun too! more

Rainbow is a good bar if you like older crowd and cowboys. Great country and western music and lot of tight jeans. Rainbow is growing in a crowd seen and it still has a couple of more years. Saturday night means the gay community is out in full force at the Rainbow Cattle Company. There's a good mix of men and women and the bartenders are attentive and quick. Only drawbacks are that it's a country bar 90% of the time and there is almost always a heavy cloud of smoke from the smokers. If you want to go to the best lesbian night in town, RCC is the place on Thursdays--you can dance to rock, pop, techno, and the occassional country song. But on a Saturday, suck up the country if you want to meet other gays in town. Sadly, it's the best place to be since M&M had the fire. more

Rainbow Cattle Co. draws very good-sized crowds on the weekend. This is one of its strengths but also a weakness. At times, the bar is so packed that one can't move around without budging someone else. Drink prices are average. The music is country-western on most nights. Recently, the bar began a lady's night on Thursday nights, including popular dance music and fun games and contests. The crowds are diverse in terms of gender and age-range. However, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it as a meeting ground for singles. Cattle co. is a place for running into old friends, making new ones and *occasionally* hooking up with that new face on the dance floor. Why does the editoral reviewer state that girls aren't there? Everytime I've been the mix has been about 50/50... or more women than men. Almost EVERYONE who sings on kareoke night has a great voice. more

Austin's last lesbian bar, Nexus, was where RCC is now. The result is that RCC is rather close to 50/50. Overall, RCC has the friendliest crowd of any of the Austin GBL bars. There is very little attitude from either the staff or the customers. If you're new to Austin, this is a good place to hang out and meet people. Compared to most other bars: Sound volume - reasonable. Crowd size - average, but varies a lot. Smoke levels - average. Lighting - above average. Violence, drug use, and binge drinkers - almost non-existent. Cleanliness - above average. Drink prices - average for the area. If you can't two-step, don't worry. They have lessons on Tuesday nights at 8pm and usually play a half-hour or so of pop/house somewhere around midnight. Pros: Good parking, Uncrowded, Friendly Cons: Expensive, Saturday-only more

This bar was super friendly and the customers were cool. Good country music, good drink prices & western atmosphere. Kinda male oriented BUT females are very welcome.
