Rage used to be THE dance bar to go to in West Hollywood, but in the past year, it seems to be floundering a lot, struggling to find a consistent crowd. This legendary gay venue ...

Great 11/30/2010

The club is great. The only bad thing I have 2 say about it is the security staff. I guess he's the main security older man he needs 2 have more respect for girls when they r n the reestroom. He should not b opening the door while girls r n thhere. more

Crazy Drink Prices 9/7/2010

WE ALWAYS LIKED THE FOOD ON THE PATIO AT RAGE, BUT NOW THEY HAVE PLANTED A HEDGE WHICH ELIMINATES PEOPLE WATCHING. REALLY DUMB FOR A WEHO PATIO. THE DRINK PRICES ARE NUTS. SPECIAL ALL DRINKS $5.00, BUT IF YOU ARE A BEER DRINKER THEY CHARGE YOU $5.00 FOR THAT TOO. WHO MANAGES THIS PLACE ANYWAY? more

Awsome Atmosphere 5/26/2010

This place is awesome, its in a prime location in WEHO on Santa Monica blvd, has awesome music a ton of dance floors and a surprisingly big patio. Ohh and try the food here too, I never really payed too much attention to the fact that they have food on the menu because I was always too busy buying drinks but the food was fantastic!!! Pros: More dance floors than you can count! more

Cool place for a quick stop 2/15/2010

this place use to be a great place to be but it kind of died out , the 5 dollar drinks of Sunday good and cool place to just kick back and chill and talk before heading out Pros: The bartenders are fast Cons: Music not so good more

Not all the rage anymore... 11/9/2009

I went to Rage last Saturday nite for the first time in two years, and I was very disappointed. It was supposed to be a nite celebrating the music of Britney and Lady Gaga, but instead of playing their songs in their unadulterated forms, the DJ messed them all up with a lot of background noise that made songs like Poker Face and Radar hardly recognizable at first. And there weren't even any video screens in operation to go with the music. But videos wouldn't have worked in sync with the music anyway, since the DJ messed up the songs so much. As far as the crowd goes, there's the usual attitude that you'll find at a WeHo gay club (especially with the younger, more insecure gays), but I didn't even see anyone who was that hot to compensate for that. And there were no gogo dancers either. However, I did leave at 11:30 pm, so maybe it got better later at midnite. I think Micky's (down the street) would have been a better choice this night, because there was much more happening there, they had gogo dancers and a better crowd overall. And if you go for the 18-25 crowd, I think Tigergheat is much better than Rage. The DJ at Tigerheat is much better than the one they had at Rage this Saturday nite, and the people there are more attractive, with less attitude. I last went to Rage in 2007 (during Pride) and it was much better then. I had also been to Rage in previous years when it was much better than this past Saturday nite. But I have to admit that this review is based upon my visit just this last Saturday nite, so the club might be better on other nights. I certainly hope so. If not, they need to do something to fix it. Pros: the setting Cons: the people, the music more

WE love rage 2/12/2009

I have been in rage many times in the past. It is a great night club, easy parking, and the best place to hang and make new friends of all kind of sexual orientation ............ Pros: easy parking more

A Stupid Gay BAr! 11/9/2008

This place is dirty! Full of twinks and hardly any hot men with substance. A bar that is below expectations. Sorry, this club is way too awkward to be in. Good luck if you Go! more

Rage really means rage 11/9/2008

This place is a never ending nightmare even after leaving the door. If you want to feel like an outcast going to a bar, definitely go to this one because 1)awful crowd, 2)watered down drinks, 3)music was lame, 4)un-cleaned restrooms, 5)full of conceited people who aren't all that, and I can keep going on and on..... Better places to go gay bar hopping---South Beach FL. More hot guys there or just don't go to this one or else you'd waste your night out. Peace out! Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

AWFUL 11/9/2008

AWFUL! Not going there anymore. People are mean! This place has more underaged teens than a middle school. Pros: Drinks Cons: Crowd more

OLD= NASTY 9/17/2008

it's a really good club, very good, i believe better then tiger heat but the only good thing about tiger heat is old guys dont go. RAGE should be 18-28 or something alot of liek 40-50 year old men go and its just really disturbing because some arent even gay and they go to rub up against you , then why go to a gay club rather go to a straight club or just go home for that and get it done from a guy you know and like. UGH! everything else is fine music is hot place is hot! FUN FUN FUN!! just watch out for those old guys and this short guy thats ALWAYS there who tries h*mp*** you NO JOKE.( this thing wont let me type the word EW GROSS) Pros: good music Cons: old guys BLAH! more

Fun but overpriced!! 7/19/2008

I went couple of times right here and actually it was fun,, it is actually a place where couples are safe to dance.. It is also fun like you dont care.. You'll get a lot of friends nowhere. It was all cool but just one thing on the drinks.. Drinks are kinda like overpriced as in the bar tender's customizing the prices.. First, you'll buy a simple drink for about $5 and so you need more after, then you'll buy something different but actually close in drinks for about $8 now then (dont forget that you have to tip them too!!) then if they'll see your face for over again, they'll raise and raised the drinks' prices till $12 bucks w/c I had it before for $8 bucks only..Becaouse they knew that you're tipping them so they're fooling you by adding more $dollars to double their tip.. Best way is get drunk in your first drink then dont tip in your second.. If theres good.. there's always a bad!! Pros: Good place to dance and pretend youre gay by dancing w/ pretty girls. Cons: The drinks are EXTREMELY OVERPRICED and carefull of sucking your money by bartenders!!! more

Amazing DJ and dancefloor and strongest drinks around! 1/19/2008

This is BY FAR the best club in Hollywood! The DJ is amazing and the bartenders are generous!! Thursdays are my favorite nights - $5 drinks till 11pm! Pros: great music, great looking crowd, great drinks for the price, lots of room Cons: parking, there is not sign - you have to know where it is located. more

Best dance club in Weho. 11/19/2007

Rage is cool, I'm sure there's something better out there, but I haven't really looked around. Honestly it depends on the night you go and what type of crowd you want to be around. The theme=the majority of the type of people will be there. They have good music, hip hop upstairs. From what I remember their drinks are so so. Sometimes good, definitely never cheap or strong. Go to Mother Lode for a cheap, strong drink. Just like in any bar you go to in Weho, there are always the bitchy guys who are full of themselves that try to prance around like they own everything. But its ok, you can just look at them and laugh at how empty they are. I mean really, most of the guys who think they're hot are not even luke-warm. Anyway, try it out. I think tues and thurs are good nights. don't go on fridays, it may be called gameboi, but its really Diva Night. Pros: Dancing and meeting people. Cons: Crowd. It seems that straight people are invading... more

Best Gay Club in WeHo 9/10/2007

I have never had a bad time at Rage. I used to come here almost twice every week. The music is perfect to dance to, most of the people are pretty hot, and the outdoor patio is the best place to socialize. It does get really hot when you dance, and there's usually free water. The only things I don't like about this place are that the bathrooms are small and dirty and that mean security guy who thinks he's God. My friends and I make fun of him because he always gives us cr@p about anything. Those who come here often know who I'm talking about! Other than that, this place is fun. Pros: Music, Outdoor Patio, Crowd Cons: Parking, Security Dude more

Rage turned to sh*t 8/22/2007

I've been clubbing for two years now. Rage is one of the first gay clubs I've ever been to. Lately, it's just been awful. I didn't go for several months and then finally went during West Hollywood Pride 2007. The drinks are horrible(I'll get into that later) and the DJs are horrible. The people their are pretty hot. You get the random ugly guy or girl but that's everywhere. The themed nights are pretty decent. The concept is decent. The entrance is usually free. On Saturday nights its $15! Which is insane! Not really worth it. I don't pay to get in though. But I know they've been having problems with their plumbing and this includes their drinking water. I want you to try something. Go to the bar and ask for a cup of water. Smell the water. It smells like sewage! Not joking. So many people have been telling me that their drinks taste awful and/or off. The water that they use for your drink e.i. cola and rum, sprite and vodka, anything sort of fountain drink! It's a great place to meet people bad place to dance and drink! Drink in the car!!! Pros: Meet new people. Occasionally meet celebrities Cons: Worse drinks you'll ever have, a lot of straight people, bad DJ's more

i had a great time 4/3/2007

Ok, so i had never even been to a club in Weho before and decided to go to Rage. I went alone and honestly had a great time. Being somewhat of a center of attention person that I am, I was up on the stage singing and dancing with lots of other hotties. Great music, ( I went on Sunday night) and just an all around good time. more

fierce atmosphere 8/25/2006

I am one of those few straight girls who has discovered the positives of going to gay clubs: the boys are beautiful, for the most part know how to dance, the music is better, best of all way less sleazy pick-ups. Sometimes people get a little crazy with their outfits, but that is part of the thrill! This is a good first time gay/west hollywood club. Everyone is there to have a good time and the dance floor crowds fast! Like any club it gets hot, but the terrace has chairs and is never too crowded to catch some air. Park on San Vicente, it is eight bucks and not at all too much of a walk. I do not suggest the sunday night club unless you bring a group because it is supper slow, but Saturday is the best for meeting new people! Pros: great layout, pretty people, nice staff Cons: dance floor crowding, inconsistent DJs more

Quitate la ropa!!! LETS GO! 8/3/2005

the men are sexy, the lesbians[or straighties] are sexier[they're sprinkled here and there]. i kinda wish they would play SOME not all music that you don't hear all the time....maybe some M.I.A.....Björk...Prodigy.....Daft Punk...Kelis.....blah blah blah. get hott as hell in there...and overall good place to shake dat ass! only thing i didnt like was the contests/skit things on saturdays. people wanna dance, and once you seen one drag show ya seen 'em all. Pros: lesbianas, gaays, bisexualsss Cons: drag shows, bathroom[small] more

hot spot for 18&over!!! 7/26/2005

I just turned 20 last month and Rage has become 1 of my favourite spot on every single Saturday night! I often go with my best gay guy friend. We always had so much fun dancing here. The MuSIc is the best! many types of music here on saturday from house, techno until midnight and hiphop 'til the end. Great asmotphere at the outside patio though a bit packed of people smoking here! little drink bar...but mostly come here just to enjoy the music and dancing!! Lots of young good looking gay guys and lots of Bi girls here and trust me they're hot and so so so friendly! 1 more thing, remember to wear less clothes cuz it always gets extremely hot in the club, may be because there's too many people here on Sat-nite! Pros: great music, friendly crowd Cons: too hot inside more
