Best

The hotel I stayed at the first part of my work trip in Detroit was sub par, so I decided to make sure I stayed in a better hotel for the Grand Rapids portion. This was perfect. I...

Pleasant stay 11/19/2010

I believe the food server in the Landing restaurant name is Kathy. She waited on us each morning of our stay. She was always attentive, pleasant and helpful? never making us fell rushed. And on the second day of our stay she went out of her way to help one of the members of our party who accidently spilled bluebery juice on her slacks. Kathy offered several solutions and brought club soda and napkins to try and clean this... when that did not work she went to her purse and returned with her own Tide stick (Maybe the restaurant should keep one on hand for future mishaps.) The Tide stick did the trick and the stain was removed. It was the quick thinking and the generousity of this individual that help advert permanent damage to my friends slacks and made us all determined that if we are in the area again that we would stay at your hotel. I would also like to bring to your atention your front desk staff. In particular Tien. She was extremely knowledgable about your city and helped us find places to visit and excellent eateries while we were out and about. When we had questions about our checkin, she provided the answers in a professional pleasant manner and she definitely exceeded our expectations of front desk staff. I applaud the individual(s) who hire the staff at this hotel/restaurant. you have truely selected the 'cream of the crop'. Because of the staff alone we would definitely return to this hotel. Thank you for such a pleasant stay. more

Really enjoyed our stay 11/16/2010

Before we arrived, Mary Becker was extremely helpful in making our reservation and offering us 2 free breakfasts during our stay. This was the reason why we chose to stay at the Radisson Grand Rapids. The only problem we had was the toilet plugged up one afternoon and Jeff (I believe that was his name) came up right away and took care of the problem. He was very friendly and courteous. Our room was clean and spacious and we enjoyed the free wi-fi. We all enjoyed the pool. We ate 2 breakfasts and 2 dinners at The Landing. - the service was great as well as the food. We really enjoyed our stay. Conveniently located downtown area, zoo, 5th/rd ballpark, and Meijer Gardens. more

Liked the sleep number 11/12/2010

We really appreciated the housekeeping staff? very polite. The staff in the Landing was also very polite. We liked the sleep number beds and the pool area. more

Cozy room 11/8/2010

Not a bad place to stay. A bit off the beaten path, but everything is close in Grand Rapids. Nice lobby, easy check-in process and cozy room. Elevator and hallway are not that great. Be sure to ask for river view room or you're staring at the highway. Good rate; comes with free breakfast. more

Home away from home 11/1/2010

I always stay at this hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful with any special requests such as faxing, etc. I work in Grand Rapids a few times a year and this is my home away from home when I do travel to this area. more

Slept very well 10/26/2010

I had read a lot of reviews of this place and had stayed here about 2 years ago so I kind of knew what to expect. The gripes about the elevator are warranted. Whoever decided to build a 7 story hotel with that many rooms and only put one elevator in there was nuts. I suggest (especially in the morning) walking the steps down. I was in town for the marathon and didn't want to shoot my legs walking up 6 flights of stairs a couple times a day so I did a lot of waiting on the elevator. The room was clean and comfortable. My girlfriend and I slept very well on the sleep number bed. The king room we were in was kind of small but it served its purpose for the two of us. Bathroom was small, lights didn't work properly, nor did the fan so that was a nuisance but nothing Earthshattering. The restaurant and bar in the hotel are great. The bar had a cheesy live band with all the typical lounge ""lizards"" hanging out. I laughed my head off when I went in there to have a beer. Staff was nice. Food in the Landing restaurant is outstanding. I've eaten there twice now and both times loved it. Again, great staff. I was in town for a marathon and this hotel was perfect for our location needs. Close to a couple of great restaurants (we at brunch at The Red Jet...FANTASTIC...and dinner at Vitales on Leonard....FANTASTIC....neither place has good service, but the food was amazing) and I was able to get out and do some running near the river the day before the race. Safe, clean area. Overal a positive stay. more

Great deal 10/21/2010

This hotel is about 10 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids. We stayed at this hotel because of a great deal we received through a website. The room was very spacious and the bed was quite comfortable. The sheets had some stains on them but otherwise were clean. The bathroom was clean with all the little extras of shampoo, lotion, soap, etc. Room service was good; food was at the right temperature and the waitresses were friendly. The restaurant had some wonderful food for supper. The hotel itself is a little old but we loved the spaciousness of the room. but overall it was a positive experience. more

Very helpful 10/18/2010

Staff acknowledged my husband as Navy veteran and charged reduced military rate, which was very helpful. Overall, staff was friendly, polite. more

Enjoyalbe 10/12/2010

Kathie, my waitress at breakfast both mornings, was very personable and cheerful, and made my breakfast even more enjoyable. Mary at the front desk was very helpful with my computer problem, which ended up being operator-error. Oh, and the breakfast buffet is wonderful! Love that you provide lots of pillows. more

I would repeat 10/7/2010

It was very busy at the time of my visit. The elevators were always busy and somewhat slow. The room was smaller than expected but clean and in good repair. The bed was a sleep number bed with controls but no instructions. With some guesswork it worked well and was very comfortable. The staff was friendly and, for the price, I would repeat. more

Good location 10/4/2010

The hotel was a good location - a little out of the city - but that was actually a good thing. Who knew a hotel bar off the highway in Grand Rapids would be such a happening place. We encountered a great band and had a great evening without having to leave the hotel. Rooms were clean and the sleep number beds were great. more

Affordable, clean, quiet, convenient 9/28/2010

I originally stayed here because I come to Grand Rapids quite a bit and have stayed in some less than fantastic hotels and thought I needed to check this place out because it's near where I socialize, I am so glad I did, I will not stay anyplace else from now on. I now have stayed here a dozen times or better and have never been disappointed, the staff is awesome. I once wanted a minor change , they were not able to accommodate me so they gave me a free all I could eat breakfast...and that was great! other than that one time I have always gotten what I have asked for......when staying here you should keep in mind that this is not the JW Marriott or the Amway Grand...it is what it is and to me that means, affordable, clean, quiet, convenient and accommodating and for the price you will not do better. The beds are so comfortable I never want to get out of them. Not much is close but then they have all you should need...rest./ bar. They have room service. more

Happy with this 9/23/2010

Purchased thru priceline . When using priceline to name your price you don't get to choose the hotel beforehand so I was very apprehensive after reading all the bad reviews. Thankfully I was happy with this hotel. The room was clean yes on the smaller side, the bed was great, however we like a harder mattress. pool was nice, we ordered pizza hut for dinner instead of the restaurant but the free breakfast was fine u can upgrade for 3.99 more and have both hot and cold sides that was good. Overall my husband and I were pleased and for 70 bucks. more

clean rooms 9/20/2010

Smooth check in, friendly staff, clean rooms, restaurant on site offered a variety of entrees to choose from. Heard other guests talking about German buffet, not a fan of German food but heard it was the one good place to get German food in town. Nightlife at the lounge was popular with locals. Attended a wedding banquet room was clean and very nice. Good banquet food. Management was present which was nice to put names to faces. Most hotels managers hide behind ""the wall"" but not here!. more

Pleasantly Suprised 8/16/2010

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the hotel was after reading several bad reviews from previous people who had stayed at the Radisson Grand Rapids, Riverfront. The hotel breakfast buffet was excellent and the restaurant overlooked the river. The hotel staff was very helpful and courtesy. I definitely would stay here again when I am in Grand Rapids. more

Horrible Hotel Experience 2/16/2010

Took over an hour to check in with one stop at a room with a king size bed when our reservation was for 2 doubles for 4 of us! Pool was being run by a large group of totally unsupervised kids who beat up on my son and management didn't care in the least - told me if they kicked the kids out of the pool area they would just be running the halls disturbing other guests. And those fancy Sleep Number Beds? Don't bother unless you like sleeping on soggy air mattresses. Pros: Decent food in the restaurant Cons: Beds, hotel policies, staff, cleanliness, etc more
