Great food and Excellent customer service 7/13/2010

We have been dining at Racha Thai in Woodenville for a couple of years now and have never had a negative experience. Our favorite time is Lunch time where they serve a nice bite size spring roll appetizer with light peanut sauce and following the meal you get a small cookie and ice cream treat. \r \r Severs are always polite and friendly. Atmosphere is pleasant and relaxing with booths or tables to accomodate 1-4 where larger groups should call ahead so they can arrange tables. \r \r Meal presentation is good. I've tried many of the menu choices and liked them all. My favorite is the Thai Fried Rice with Fried Tofu. Portions are fairly generous so my wife and I often order one meal and split it. \r \r There are some minor spicey variations where the difference in heat between 2-3 and 3-4 can vary from dish to dish. So when ordering keep in mind the noodle dishes seem to hold the spice better than the rice ones. \r \r Conveniently located in central Woodenville close to shops and movie theater. Pros: Food and Service Cons: None at all more

Great place to eat 8/17/2008

I've notice that all the bad reviews about the management are old. I have been there often and lately and it has been a pleasure, and the food is delicious. You never have to wait to get a table and the service is awesome.\r The only thing I noticed that it is kind of puzzeling is that the spiceness on the food is not the same in all the dishes, for example a 2 on a rice dish is different from a 2 on a noodle dish.\r The eggrolls are to die for the same as all the appetizers. \r I would recomended to anybody, except to big groups. Pros: excellent food more

Manager is HORRIBLE 4/19/2008

I agree with everyone's post about the manager. The worst customer service I have ever seen. I honestly don't know how she's able to run a business like that. more

Horrible Customer Service. Manager extremely rude. 11/5/2007

I'd heard from some friends how incredibly rude the manager and wait staff is, but I had to experience it myself to believe it. The food is average, the decor is pleasing, but the staff is unsmiling and rude. In all my years of eating out I've never ever seen this level of unprofessional and customer un-friendly behavior. I'm curious as to how this manager still manages to keep her job! My advice is STAY AWAY. You want to go out and have a good time, unfortunately this place will do the very opposite. Apparently a lot of customers have had similar complaints about this place. Read all the reviews and you will know why you should be looking elsewhere for Thai food. Pros: Good decor, average food Cons: Extremely rude manager and wait staff more

Best Thai food around 9/29/2007

I am crazy for Thai food. I have tried every Thai place I can find. This is the best. They are the most authentic you will find. The ingredients are very fresh. They pay very good attention to detail. I have always found everyone to be very nice including the manager! Sometimes it gets very full so for lunch try to get there by 12:00 to make sure you get seated right away. For dinner they have some good prices on bottles of wine if you like wine. They have the best Pad Thai!! I love the Royal Sweet and Sour also, and since it is not deep fried it is actually very healthy and not tooooo many calories! Get the brown rice option which is very healthy also. I like the brown rice much better than white. Give it a try. Pros: Cool fishtank and decorations, great food and service Cons: Sometimes it gets pretty full but just show up early enough and you can get in. more

Best Thai food around 9/28/2007

Racha is the best Thai food around and always has been. The other Thai places don't compare. I love the Pad Thai, the Royal Sweet and Sour and the Asparagus dish Emerald Garlic. It gets busy sometimes but usually you can get seated quick as long as you son't show up for lunch at 12:45 or 1:00 when it is sometimes packed. Try the brown rice if you never have. It is great and very good for you! Pros: Very nice place. Great food and great attention to detail Cons: None more

Good place and service 4/18/2007

Last night, my wife and i decided to go out for dinner. We settled on Racha Thai. When we got their, we were seated in about 5 mins, (Full House). We sat down and got our tea quickly and we ordered. The wait for the food was pretty quick, probably about 15 minutes. I ordered beef and broccoli and my wife ordered chicken curry. The food was great along with the service. i had no problems whatsoever. In talking with the manager, i told her about our experience and thanked her for her service and food. Overall, id have to say that this is a great place for Thai food and for an enjoyable night. Pros: Everthing ran smoothly and the food was great Cons: The parking was a little packed more

Racha doesn't rock anymore!! 12/28/2006

I invited my friend who was new to Thai food to lunch here recently. She has requested that she will choose the restaurants in the future. We arrived at 12:30 and they were not very busy. It took 20 minutes to get some tea and have our orders taken. It took another 30 minutes to be served our food, when I asked how long it would be the waitress admonished me for asking and said we will have to wait our turn! It has really changed since it opened, they food was bland and I had the impression that is had been prepared institutionally in bulk and sitting in a warmer for a very long time. We had Phad Thai that was like glue and tough to chew, that was a new experience for that dish. We also had Garlic Chicken and the cut of meat seemed to be what I call "scraps" It was fatty and unappetizing to look at. But what was really frustrating was the service. We had 5 different people coming a going from our table and we were left with the impression that they would rather be anywhere else on the planet but there. The energy in the place is lifeless and strained. It used to be a great lunch stop and we have enjoyed it for years but something has definitely changed, I would not recommend it now. Pros: ...The Mural is still interesting to look at! Cons: This is a restaraunt that exudes " We don't care!" more

Very disappointing restaurant 12/20/2006

We visited this restaurant expecting the same good service as the Seattle sister restaurant. A very rude girl showed us slowly and seemingly reluctantly to a table. It took about five minutes before anyone came to our table, and then they didn't really care if we ordered or were even there! It was a totally disappointing experience. Also, having spent a month traveling all over Thailand and eating the delicious food there three times a day, we find that Racha is now thickening up the curry dishes that should be on the "liquidy" side as it is in Thailand. The new thick "gravy" is NOT Thai anymore than chop suey is Chinese! We'll be going to Lai Thai in Kirkland or Noppakao in Juanita or King and I in Bellevue or Thai Ginger in Redmond Town Center after this. Pros: Parking right in front Cons: Food and service more

Worst customer service, OK food. Avoid it. 12/20/2006

As other reviewers said, the manager is very very rude.\r \r I went there alone on 12/17/06 for a quick lunch. It was around 1:45pm, so I was the only one waiting to be seated. There were one manager and 2 waitresses. They were not busy at all and just walking around, but just no one came to give me a seat. After a long 10 minutes, the manager finally looked at me and asked, ""what do you want to order for take out?"" I told her I wanted to be seated. She immediately frown and talked loudly to another waitress in Thai. From her expression, I could tell she was either making fun of me or being really impaient with me. Either way, I was feeling insulted. The only thought in my head was, ""WTF, am I not qualify to sit in this restaurant and enjoy the damn food?"" She kept talking and ignoring me. I knew she wanted me to just leave, so I just stood there and stared at her. Another 2 or 3 minutes passed, some customers in the restaurant turned and looked at this side, so she finally had to seat me rather unhappily. \r \r Well, based on such great service, I had to give them a big ZERO tips. :-) Honestly, the food was not too bad. It was average, but the price was in the high side. \r \r In conclusion, please avoid this damn restaurant in all cost. Pros: parking, the desert is OK Cons: Worst service, rude manager more

Manager is MEAN!!!!!! 9/3/2005

Our good friends had eaten here and warned us about a bad experience and won't go again. Now our turn. This lady wasn't too happy with us for getting rice on the floor and proceeded to clean it while we were still eating dinner all the while she was rather rude. Later we get into our car and the SAME lady comes out and says ""don't ding my car!"" Which we hadn't and invited her to inspect. She huffed and went back inside. My husband and I were astonished at our treatment, so he went back in to ask for an apology. We find out that she's the MANAGER. She parks her car out in front of the restaurant front row so she can keep an ""eye""on it. Shouldn't this be reserved for patrons? Were aren't going again, but if you brave it don't park next to the black BMW! Pros: good food, beautiful fish tank, SOME friendly staff Cons: Manager, manager, manager more

Love It 7/26/2005

My husband and I eat here all the time. I have never had a problem with the service ever. Everyone is always attentive. If my hot tea is out of water they always ask me if I want more. Our favorite is the Panag Curry! I love the rice here better than any other Thai place we have ever eaten at also. Not too stick and not too hard. We also like the lovely decor of murals and wooden carvings. Also, the tropical fish tank in the middle of the restaurant where eveyone can enjoy it. Pros: Food, Service, Price more

Racha review 6/9/2005

I have gone to this place twice, with kids and without kids. Both time, the service was very rude. Pros: parking Cons: service, food more

Short answer-NO 5/28/2005

We went with our son (9 months) and we were constantly given dirty looks by the staff. So, if you have a kid, I would avoid this place at all costs. We might try it again in 18 years. Also, the food was so-so, the price was high, and they charge extra for steamed rice. more

My Review 5/24/2005

Food preparation was a little sloppy and services not very friendly. Other than that, an average Thai restaurant. There is one in Seattle by the same name with better food. more

Review of Racha Thai Cuisine 4/25/2005

This restaurant sucks. Rude services everywhere. Rude wait people - shouldn't you know your own menu items? I've been to the one in Seattle, it's a little better. more

Good food but bad service 12/31/2004

I would have said this was a good thai restaurant if it wasn't for the baaaaad service. The hostess there was so rude. She did not greet us or give a hint of smile when we arrived, instead she told us to order quickly.... She kept on saying ""are they leaving yet?"" in the corner by the kitchen to the waiter in thai while there were groups of people still eating. I was so displease that I couldn't enjoy the food. I reccommend take out. Pros: tasty, decorative place Cons: , small portion more

What I have been looking for 9/8/2002

I've been looking for a real good Thai restaurant for years, and this is it. The food is by far the best that I have had. In addition I've been trying to eat more soy products, and most of their dishes are served with a choice of tofu, chicken, beef or prawns. The tofu is well prepared and very good unlike what I have found in other restaurants. The atmosphere of this restaurant is very decorative and comfortable. The service is generally quick, and the staff is polite and friendly. The only complaint I have is they charge extra for steamed rice. A lot of other places I have been include some steam rice at no extra charge with the meal. Other than that it is not uncommon now for my husband and I to dine here at least once a week. That is how much we like this place. Pros: Best Thai in Eastside Cons: Extra charge for rice more
