The TheaterIn 1990, local professional actors jump-started PushPush with a series of studio workshops. The collaborators presented plays at 7 Stages, the Shakespeare Tavern and the Hilan Theater before finding their own space in the Floataway Building in 1997. An 80-seat theater, PushPush shares upscale digs with a pilates studio, the Floataway Cafe, small shops, galleries and design studios just minutes northwest of Emory University. It's a tight fit in the small venue, where main stage performances, experimental workshop productions, festivals, artists workshops and youth programming unfold all year long.InnovationsKnown for its innovative presentations, PushPush has added something new to its repertoire: the popular "Dailies" program, which challenges the theater and film/video communities to collaborate in a series of unique projects. Each show combines Atlanta video producers' interpretation of theatrical scripts, using only found footage, which is then fused with live performance. Screenings take place at PushPush and Bluemilk, an alternative art and performance space on Spring Street in Midtown.
