Pure Aveda Salonspa

I have used Aveda hair products pretty constantly for 20 years. Once in a while, I have tried something else because I'm not able to get to the salon to stock up but always go back to Aveda. I don't even have to tell my stylist since 2007, Chloe Black, that I've been using something else, she knows the minute she puts her hands in my hair. My haircuts, color, highlights, low lights and service have consistently been outstanding and I look forward to my visits to relax after a day at work. I love my hair when she is done styling and strive to achieve how I look when I leave between my appointments. I have never had to go home and wash my hair or restyle after I leave. She knows I don't like a lot of product in my hair. One thing I've learned going to her is to look for a picture of the style I want. There have been times when I've wanted my hair to look a certain way but she advises against it because my hair is not the right type to achieve that style. Or, she will explain that I need to use more product and spend more time styling then she knows I like. Over the years, she has commented that for people who are unwilling to use Aveda products, their hair will never look or feel the way they want it to. In other words, you get out of it what you are willing to put into it. Be realistic, people. A stylist is not a magician and is not going to make you feel better about yourself if you are unhappy with yourself. The salon guest has to put forth some effort to achieve what they want for themselves. I have been extremely satisfied with my experience at the salon and particularly with Chloe! more

Although I love Aveda products, the staff is friendly and the salon is cutting edge my experience with Chole Black was not the quality stylist I expected from an Aveda Salon. I was a client for a little over a year. Chole gave me a great cut and after a year she finally nailed the color but every time I left the salon I had to go home and wash my hair and style it myself before I went out in public. I spoke to Chole about it repeatedly but she was not open to me showing her how I liked my hair styled. Unfortunately, I did not leave the salon one time where I was totally satisfied with my hair. To develop into a top stylist Chole needs to learn to listen to her clients. more

I went to this salon based on the reviews but did not have a positive experience like the others. I went to Chloe Black for a highlight touch up on the new growth to my already very blonde highlighted hair. I have long one length hair with layers in front. She talked me into lowlights...telling me that I needed them and it would not look good if I didn't get them. She gave me very dark brown low lights only on the top and front of my hair! Not underneath or in the back??? They look black next to the very blond color and very unnatural and muddy looking! Who has dark hair in front top of their head and light blonde hair in bottom back?!?! It should be the opposite! And..to top it off she over lapped the few high lights that she put around my face and the hair is breaking off. She has no idea what she is doing!!! When my hair was wet she was ripping through my hair with a brush really hard to get out the tangles. I had to tell her to stop...this is a person who has no business doing hair! I can't comment on the rest of the staff except that the guy that works the front desk was very nice and professional. If you want healthy pretty looking hair...do not go to Chloe Black! more

I consider myself a pragmatic person. I usually don't fawn over the new trends, nor do I feel it necessary to go to the newest IT place around. Instead, I find, that consumer reviews based on the experience and recognition tend to influence me to try something new. When I started my search into spas in Lake County I kept coming across 1 name, Pure Aveda Salonspa. I read about them receiving more votes than anyone else in Lake Magazines Best of the best, winning 5 categories, read about their dedication to Green living and being awarded Green Certification, read about them being name the best business in Mount Dora (not only against salons, but everyday businesses as well) , read that they were named Best salon in Orlando and finally 1 of the top 200 salons in the Nation 2 years in a row. Reading about all of those accolades made me very excited about going in for an appointment, but I was also a bit trepidatious... what if they wanted to change everything about me or didn't live up to their stellar reputation? I had built them up in my own mind, would I be disappointed? What I found when I arrived was a group of caring and nurturing individuals that made a self-proclaimed wall flower feel like the most special person who had ever walked into the building. I was expecting amazing talent, and they didn't disappoint, but I was amazed at all the little things they did to try and make my day better. When I was finished with what could only be described as the best hair cut & color I had ever gotten, I asked my stylist why where she so nice? why did she treat me so special? Did she realize how my entire experience made me feel? She answered back with a Mona Lisa like smile, "At Pure we fulfill the needs of all of our guests, whether it is your cut and color or nurturing. We believe that everybody needs a bit of pampering and I'm very happy that I was able to give that to you today." So what did I do, as someone who stands back and observes, I hugged her. She had given me a gift more valuable than any style (which is amazing btw), she had made me feel as good as I now looked. I left with a spring in my step, a lightness to my being and my next 3 appointments. Later that evening I was having dinner with some friends from Orlando, and knew I thought to myself "I have just discovered the Holy Grail of Salons, I have to tell everyone." I spent 10 minutes telling them of my visit, describing everything from the welcome I received from the Salon Director down to my hand massage, I never realized I needed. I looked up at the face of one of my girlfriends who has always had the most fashionable coif and hair color to die for, and she had a very similar Mona Lisa type smile. She reached across the table, placed her hand on mine and proceeded to name the names of several of the hair designers at MY new salon. Apparently I had unknowingly stumbled onto the IT salon & spa, a not so well kept secret that kept my friends in high fashion styles and relaxed with massages & facials. We all had a good laugh about how the pragmatist who looks for the reviews first managed to find the salon everyone wants to go to. I had always assumed that a place like that would be snooty and elitist, not kind and nurturing to someone like me...who knew? I am just elated that I found a salon that can balance the obvious ability that it take to do what they do so well, and an affection for people and brining happiness into their lives. I am eternally grateful for the team at Pure for giving me the lift I didn't even know I needed, brightening my day and making me feel like someone special. It take a very special group of people to do something that wonderful, and that's what I found at Pure Aveda Salonspa. Pros: Constant, Reliable, High Talent Cons: none more

I feel like a supermodel when walking out of Pure Aveda Salonspa. I highly recommend you go to this Salon, you won't regret it.! I got my hair cut and colored at the Salon and I absolutely love it. I look and feel great. Aveda Color is the best hair color I've ever had done! I'm addicted to the salon I feel at home every time I go. I've never been so happy with the end results of my hair color & hair cuts until now. I'm so happy I found a place that takes great pride in their work. It is hard for me to trust anyone with my hair and when I walked in to the salon the first time (and every time since), the environment was happy and professional. The stylists knew what they were doing and when I saw the expressions on the faces of people when they left, I just knew I was in for a treat. I had a cut with Amber and she made me feel very comfortable and she sure knew what she was doing! They are just the best. The service was great. This is the only choice in my book when it comes to fashion & style. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SALON LADIES. Great people, great outcome, GREAT SALON! Pros: Everything! Everyone! I found this salon on cityvoter. Read all the reviews and decided to give it a try. I have been there twice and I have been unbelievably happy with the results on both occasions. I know why they were voted the Best Salon in Central Florida, they gave so much more than I expected and I was expecting a lot. Hand massage, scalp massage, aromatherapy and the best hair cut I've had in years. I highly recommend this salon for great style & customer service. They all know how to take care of your every need! I had gotten my hair cut at another salon in Orlando and was not pleased with the results. After a couple months of letting my hair grow back to an acceptable length I went to Pure to get it fixed and have the style that I wanted put into my hair. Chloe was amazing!! She listened to what I asked for and told me everything that she was doing before she did it. I walked out of the salon with exactly what I wanted and more! All my friends love my new hair style! I'm defiantly coming back to Pure anytime I need something done with my hair! My next step is to try some of their facials and massages!! This used to be a very good salon with very talented people. I have been going here for over three years and used to really enjoy my experience at this salon. However, the last time I went there, there were a bunch of unfamiliar faces working there. I got a good cut, but the atmosphere was cold and the management was EXTREMELY RUDE, which made for an uncomfortable experience. Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Management is rude, ambience is dull. more
