If you really love dogs you need to educate yourself. Don't support pet stores !!! These dogs 100 percent come from puppy mills . They lie when they say they don't! When you buy a dog at a pet store you continue the practice of inhumane breeding. Please contact a rescue group. They have adorable puppies all the time. You will be so glad you did more

For every person completely focused on the cute puppies at this store, congratulations! You have completely missed the mark! When you buy a puppy from a pet store, you are only thinking of yourself and that cute puppy. I would challenge you to think about the mother of that puppy who never gets out of her cage. Never gets a pet or a kind word. Is lucky if she has food and water to drink beyond what is necessary to keep her alive. Whose sole purpose is to produce puppies for stores like this one. She probably gets no veterinary care whatsoever and when the day comes that she can no longer produce puppies, what do you think happens to her then? When you buy puppies from stores, you are supporting an industry of abuse. They will be as nice as cherry pie while they lie to you about where these animals come from. All the while, they are ripping you off.\r \r Reputable, ethical breeders DO NOT SEND THEIR PUPPIES TO STORES. EVER. more

Great Puppy Store 4/1/2013

My Girlfriend and I searched all over NJ for the right puppy store. Shake-a-paw is too expensive as are most puppy stores in NJ. I stopped in randomly as I was driving by and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of breeds that they had available. In December, I purchased a Jack Russell, Beagle, Pointer mix for $199. He was one of 2 left of a big litter. I believe he was cheap because he had been there for almost a month.\r The staff was very helpful and friendly. They did try to push their puppy food on us, claiming that the puppy was already used to the food but my puppy hated the food and didn't eat for 2 days until I bought Puppy Chow and then he ate immediately. He had Kennel cough which is pretty common and the Puppy Barn reimbursed us for the vet fee and medicine with no problems . They are very easy to deal with and stand by their word and contracts.\r \r I just bought my second puppy there to keep my other pup company. This time I bought a Cockerspaniel/Jack Russel mix that is more

Wow....just no 8/27/2011

dont come here. i repeat dont come here. this place is terrible and it is quite obvious where they get their puppies from. PUPPY MILLS. for those of you who dont know what a puppy mill is it is basically a place where low life dirty scum breeders keep dogs in unsanitary conditions and sell them to puppy stores. When i came into the puppy barn i was appalled by the overwhelming smell. Not only that but when i looked into their bins more than half of the puppies were sleeping. many of them even looked sick. it broke my heart because these puppies were all jammed together and did not look healthy at all. Not only that, but the employees were rude. they just sat there not even bothering to greet us or ask if we needed help. When i asked where they got their puppies from the woman gave me a brief 'we got it from one of the breeders' yeah? like a puppy mill perhaps? overall do not buy puppies from here, by doing that you would only be supporting puppy mills even more. more

Will purchase from them again.... 11/10/2010

It has been a year since we purchased "Winston" a pug/westie mix from the Puppy Barn. After we got Winston home and to our Vet for check up he had worms, no biggie was taken care of. Winston is a wonderful addition to our family. In fact, being a year old I can leave him access to the whole house without worry of making a mess or daminging anything. He curls up at night on the bed and keeps you warm. I will buy from this store again and plan on doing it. They have great puppies, good price and service. The people who say don't buy from them etc....they have another agenda I believe. I tried adopting, I had nothing but problems and headaches with it. more

great place to get a puppy 7/22/2010

2 DOGS, BOTH HAD MAJOR PROBLEMS 7/15/2010

BUYER BEWARE: This is my second dog to come from Puppy Barn II, The first one was a Keeshond that had kennel cough (a common problem) and an umbilical cord hernia that the Puppy Barn paid for the surgery required. \r \r THEY DO NOT SCREEN THEIR BREEDERS\r \r The second dog I purchased here 10 years later (2005) is a Saint Bernard. Again this dog had kennel cough & gave it to my other dog as well. We took her to our Vet within 3 days for a check up & a discovered bladder infection, & urinary tract infection. ALSO, the Saint Bernard was diagnosed with SEVERE HIP DYSPLASIA when she was 5 months old as she was having problems walking & was doing the telltale "bunny hop" and screaming with every step. This is a hereditary condition that was discovered within the six month from purchase period. The mother dog should not have been able to breed without a certified hip scan. (Breeder was from Bird in Hand, PA) We filed under the NJ Puppy Lemon Law with Puppy Barn II for her medical bills. Th more

Puppy Barn=Puppy Mills (Thats all they use) 6/6/2010

Please don't support this store,,,,They deal directly with puppy mills, over 60 thousand dogs are born each day. In large part from puppy mills. You go to a store like the Puppy Barn and you will see nothing but stressed breed puppies. Just look at the other feedbacks. I heard that the whole store shut down, the sign says closed for repairs but no work is being done. Rumor has it all dogs are very sick. Again no surprise there....Stay away from this store? more

DON'T DO IT!!!!! 6/4/2010

Do you people GET IT??? \r Your puppies might be cute and all. Now think of the Mom that your little puppy came out of. She is sitting in a cage that is covered in feces and her fur is matted beyond belief and the cage is not big enough for her to stand up, the food they feed her is mush from a can that is embedded in her fur. After she has litter after litter (hundreds of puppies) until her nipples are touching the bottom of the cage from being breast fed so much, they kill the dog and throw it away like trash.\r Is this what you want to contribute too? They all come from PUPPY MILLS!!!! Look past the cute little puppy. \r STOP buying from places like this!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Such Rude Management!! 5/29/2010

We went into the Puppy Barn today and before the door even closed behind us we were being yelled at to sanitize our hands! Hello??? It's a freaking pet store! Not only did we have to sanitize our hands, but we were not allowed to touch any of the animals. How on earth do they expect to sell any dogs if you aren't allowed to handle them? My son left crying as he didn't make it through the "sanitizing station". What a bunch of jerks who work/run that place. And by the way, the Havanese puppies that their signs boasts about were non-existant! Nowhere were there any Havanese puppies! I'll never return there again!!! more

Cute Puppies 5/9/2010

I love my puppy soo much but i didn't love the fact that i had to buy her before i could hold her she said that she was held "to much" that day i wasn't that pleased but i love their puppies more

Great Experience, Great Puppy!! 5/4/2010

We purchased our first dashaund mini 1yr ago in March. She was healthy, the experience we had at Puppy Barn was great! So great that we are going to purchase another dog there.. Most of my friends purchased a dog from there and all of their experiences were as great as ours... For some ppl that have negative replies, maybe they didnt have a great attitude or where some of those customers that are a pain! My suggestion for everyone is go on your own accord, feel the place out for yourselves! If you puppy does happen to be sick know that in the Puppy Barns disclaimer that id you puppy is sick they will pay for the cost, so it is important you get it checked out ASAP! Some dogs just have a weak imune system.. not something unlikely! Good Luck to all.. Puppy Barn for us was great... we love out 1yr old Doxie.. more

awesome service, awesome puppies! 4/2/2010

i love it!\r i have purchased two of my dogs there. about 5 years ago we got a papillon and about 10 years ago we got a mixed breed, pug-schnauzer-poo. i was just there recently, looking for a new dog and i'm considering buying a yorkie mix from them!\r the dogs are kept in large fenced in areas rather than little cramped cages. i've been to store where the dogs are crammed 2 or 3 in a cage, and puppy barn is nothing like this! \r so helpful and very clean! i love the dogs ive gotten there! more

ALL SMILES HERE 3/27/2010

My fiance and I bought a Golden retriever mix from puppy barn in June of 2009 and he is AMAZING!!!!! We had heard many good things, so we checked it out and we couldn't be happier....granted the employees are strange but they were knowledgeable and our puppy has been healthy and wonderful!!! HE will be one on Wednesday! I will adopt in the future because it is very important, but if you are going to use a puppy store I recommend this one!!!! more

I REFUSE TO BUY A PUPPY HERE 3/1/2010

The employees treat the customers and the puppies terribly! \r They were extremely rude to my husband and I. We both felt as though they didn't want us in there. They lost out on a $500+ sale because of it. They also put small, defenseless puppies in pens with larger, very aggressive puppies. When I was trying to distract a larger dog from pouncing on and biting a very tiny dog, I was yelled at not to reach into the pen! When I explained what was happening, I was curtly told that it was "fine". It's a shame becaus we really liked one of the puppies. more

RUDE EMPLOYEES 2/27/2010

I've been looking for a puppy for about 3 months now. Every time I go in this place, the employees never seem to be friendly or willing to help. They just sit there looking miserable. I was in there today and before I could shut the door behind me the lady said "WASH YOUR HANDS" in a nasty tone. I'm just going to get the puppy on puppyfind.com. That's were I got my first dog. So I recommend the owner getting new employees because they are going to lose business. more

One sick puppy. 1/4/2010

Since I'm rather new to the area, and based off comments from a couple people about the place, me and my husband decided to check it out. After playing with a couple puppies, we came across a tiny white Maltipoo, and it was love at first sight. When we brought him home we took him to the vet only to find out he had kennel cough and was infested with round and hook. After a long battle to kill them, he's a healthy bundle of energy who we adore. So unless your willing to take on the responsibility of paying for all the medications and vet visits, I advise you stay clear and take your buisness elsewhere. more

best experience for the puppies and also the future owner 11/12/2009

if youre a true dog lover, this place will be the best experience for you also. The varieties and qualities of the puppies are excellent. Most importantly, the dogs are not kept behind glass cages by themselves undernrourished and miserable, they are free to play with other puppies in there spacious and comfortable bin and just enjoy theyre time just as much as we do while picking out the perfect puppy! Pros: puppied were clean, had food and water, happy more

They really care about the puppies and the customers 8/21/2009

We had a great experience and we love our new puppy, Harry Kalas "Kally". The staff (special thanks to Ellen) was incredibly helpful and supportive -- especially when we went home the first day empty handed after spending 3 hours in the store. I got cold feet because I knew my husband wasn't prepared. Ellen told me I was doing the right thing instead of trying to sell me the puppy. We called the next day when I knew the whole family was on board and they held the puppy for us. They were really excited for us when we came back and went over all the important information with great care. Kally is a healthy, active puppy and she's a quick study on housebreaking. Thank you for everything. We would definitely recommend Puppy Barn. more
