For consumers information: One would not visit here if it was soley base on the look of the resturant outside, which draws customers inside, the only reason I visted because my husband had a certificate to use. The outside look deserted and dark. To be frank, it look like it was closed down. We walk in and the first thing we notice was a musty smell and there was not a hostess to greet us. My husband and I talked about how Robert, the chef on HGTV's resturant impossible, would point out what they are doing wrong. There was hardly anyone in the place, and they even tried to explain why and invited us to hear the band and their would be more people. NO THANKS.....However, the food was really good. But as I said, the place really needs a makeover....BAD more

TOO EXPENSIVE 2/13/2011

First of all, this is a restaurant in the 1960-290 area, nothing fancy at all. It was clean and more

Wonderful Experience 9/20/2010

The food was delicious, including the dessert created using the chef's own White Chocolate-Almond ice cream recipe, topped with carmelized pecans and flambeed. It could well be the most delicious thing I ever tasted. more

Absolutely Fantastic Experience! 8/26/2010

Everything about Prime Time Steak House was absolutely fantastic. My filet was perfectly cooked and served in the most delicious sauce. I didn't want to finish it, it was so delicious. My father ordered the prime rib which also just as good. The desserts were unbelievable and I can't recommend the Godiva chocolate cake enough. I wanted another piece as soon as I finished it. The service was absolutely excellent and Pablo (the manager and head chef) came by our table a few times which was really nice. Honestly, everything about the experience was great. I can't recommend this restaurant more highly! more

Best steaks in the North 6/30/2010

Decided to give this place a try after being told its good. We were seated promptly which was good for us. Being our first time, we didn't know what to expect. We decided to order wine which was outstanding. We ordered a duck appetizer which the flavors were amazing. I ordered the Cowboy Ribeye and she ordered the tuna special. I would have to say that the food was outstanding and the service was great. They also told me that there is live entertainment along with a dance floor starting Thursday. I would encourage everyone to try out the food at this steakhouse. Thanks for having a non-chain restaurant that is very good. Pros: Awsome Food and impecable service more

This place is horriable 10/3/2009

My boyfriend and I went out to dinner last night. here. It was our first time, my co worker told me it was good , so we tried it out. This place was nice but the food and service wasn't. The server greeted us and took our drink order. 5 minutes later she gave us our drinks. 10 minutes later she took our app and our main order. We ordered the fried mushrooms, it came out fast but it had no flavor to it . My boyfriend ordered the steak ,and shrimp the steak had no flavor also his steak had 1/2 in. fat all around his steak and his sauce was watery and had no flavor. The shrimp was good because it was wrapped with bacon. I ordered the tour with mushrooms . Beef tenderloin with mushrooms. My meal was not as I expected it had no flavor. My gravy had no flavor. The server came back around to check on us 10 minutes later to see if the food was good. Then she saw my boyfriend needed another coke so she said she was gonna get it but , it took her 10 minutes to get his drink. She finally came back with his drink we asked for a box to-go I got this small little box . So I asked another server for a bigger box I got it. We paid and left the restuarant but we were not satisfied with this place. Our servers name was Linda. more

Wonderful-incomparable service! 6/3/2009

This place is delightful. It has an intimate setting with soft music playing in the background. As soon as we walked in (i took my boyfriend in for his birthday), Sharon seated us and served us also. We strated off with the crab cake which was delicious and with nice presentation. We then got our bread which was very warm, served with yummy cinnamon-swirled butter. Pablo, the owner, walked over and introduced himself and checked on us throughout the meal. He is very friendly and held our opinion as a priority. Sharon was very pleasant and made sure we were'nt missing anything. He had the avocado salad and I had the seafood soup as a starter. The soup was mouth-watering from just the smell and the taste was even better! He enjoyed his salad too, since he's a big fan of avocado. He had the bacon wrapped shrimp and steak. He asked for medium and he got medium (many places are horrible about this, but not Prime Time). The shrimp portions were very generous. The steak was perfectly made and easy to cut and best of all tender. I also had a steak but with chipotle spices and this spicy delectable salad made with black beans, jalape?os, corn, tomato, onions, lemon sauce. It was perfect! For dessert, Pablo recommended the godiva chocolate cake. The irish cream sauce (made with bailey's) luscious and complemented the decadent taste of Godiva chocolate. I wanted another piece! Since it was his birthday, Sharon was gracious enough to put a candle on the cake and she also gave his 3 chocolate covered strawberries which were very tasty. The food here is definitely high-quality and the service is by far the best! They make you feel like royalty (3 people served us thorughout the night, including the owner himself) I will DEFINITELY be back, especially since Thursday nites they have live piano music and friday nites the have a band. I love PRIME TIME! Pros: Best Godiva Chocolate Cake, SERVICE! more

Best steaks in area!!!!! 8/18/2008

The last time I visited this location, it was not that great of an experience. I heard that the place was under new ownership, so we dedcided to give it a chance to try the food. Let me start by saying that the food and service has done a 360. The food is highly worth going for. The service was superb. The owner/gm ""Pablo"" came by my table and seemed to really care about a great place for people to enjoy. he made sure our experience is what is expected and nothing less. Since we showed up on a Thursday night, the place seemed busy with the wine tasting happening on the other side of the bar. From the comments below about dust on the window ledges, they are all cleaned up. This new owner is really gonna make a difference to this great steakhouse on 1960. I will now begin to start my regular dining at this establishment. For everyone that has not gone back because of a poor experience, I recommend that everyone checks this steakhouse again or at least give it a chance under the new ownership. GREAT JOB STAFF in making our experience an ejoyable one. KEEP UP THE HARD WORK. this area needs a steakhouse like PRIME TIME!!! Pros: Great tasting food!!! Cons: More people need to come check out what they are missing!! more

GREAT PLACE!!!! 7/30/2008

gave this steakhouse a try since I moved to the northwest and let me tell you that I never had a strip steak like at prime time in my life!! very tender and cooked perfectly! Place looked very clean and staff was very polite and helpful. very cool atmosphere. I was told that they have live music thurs thru saturday. My partner tried a special that they were running on lamb chops with a cilantro pepper and garlic flavor and that was the BEST lamb chops we both have tried. I highly recommend this place to anyone. I was also told about a reverse happy hr from 9pm to 12 am on the weekends that sounds great!! This is a one stop shop for sure if you need a private room, dinner and then dance the night away in the bar area. menu was reasonably priced considering the quality of food and portions you get.. more

AHHHH RUN!!! 7/27/2008

I started the day planning to take my boyfriend out for a great dinner for his birthday. He chose the place he wanted to go. It happened to be Prime Time Steak House. It was in the middle of the day on a thursday. The place was pretty empty. Looked at the menu it was a little pricey but we wonted a great meal. I figure the food and drinks must match the price. I order a glass of tea and calamari to start. As a drank my tea to my horror I felt something in my mouth that didn't feel right. It slid out of my mouth into my hand( OH MY GOD!) it was a R*ACH! a brown disgusting RO*CH in my tea. It was in my tea. I sucked it up threw my straw and in my MOUTH it went. I put it on the table and ran to the bathroom. I screamed in horror. After being sick and washing my mouth out. I came back to the table. My boyfriend didnt know what happened. I pointed at the thing on the table. He was disgusted. The manager had the nerve to ask me if I still wanted to eat there. If so they would pay for the food or give me a gift certificate. We refused, are you insane? My God I am still HORRIFIED. I couldnt even give my boyfriend a happy birthday kiss for fear that I would be sick. Cons: Dont Ever Go There! more

Bad news in the 1960 area. Terrible customer relations. 7/7/2008

In February I was given two $25 gift certificates for Primetime Steak House / Stonegate Grille / Makenzie's for my wedding. Now in July it turns out both Stonegate and Makenzie's are out of business and ""Pablo"" at Prime Time wont honor these gift certificates. I have no clue what the food is like at this establishment, but given the courtesy given to someone with gift certificates to their establishment I would not drive ten feet to get there much less the 50 miles I would have to go from here in Pearland, south of town. Cons: BAD customer Relations more

very impressed 7/10/2007

The food here is wonderful! The service was something you normally drive downtown to get. We went on a Friday night, so there was a small wait. I didn't mind because the food was so good. It did get crowded in the bar as we where leaving, and they have live music so we decided to go check it out, the music was top notch (without a cover) I was pretty impressed. We had a blast and the dance floor was packed I had to wake up early the next day so we couldn?t stay all night. Maybe next time! Pros: food, great quality steaks, music, dance floor more

my favorite steakhouse 7/6/2007

This is the best steakhouse on 1960 by far. It's casual, fun, has great music and entertainment. It's comfortable and we can be ourselves. You can dress up in casual. The stakes are the best of ever had. They serve them with a rich beef jus. The appetizers are great especially crabcakes. Everyone should try this place. Pros: Beef more

Filthy - needs made service - food is NOT prepared as discribed on menu. Staff not efficient 5/31/2007

our last vivit was last week - we will Not return. There was dirt and dust everywhere, window ledges, corners of restaurant, very noticeable - it's not like we were looking for it. Food was not prepared as discribed on menu (ingredients were not as listed ie...escargot either had balsamic vinegar added to butter or else it was spoiled. This used to be a nice place - it has really gone downhill. will not visit again. you would be better off going to Perrys or another steak house... Cons: dirty - food not good anymore more

this place has it all without the drive 2/24/2007

My Husband and I frequent this restaurant quite often, and we think it's fantasic and are always impressed. From the steaks and staff to the entertainment it has it all. There is a piano player we like to listen to during the week but on the weekends they have great live bands and its sometimes hard to choose. I recommend this restaurant to all my friends and they are always happy. Pros: steaks, seafood, live music, friendly staff Cons: decor needs some updating more

Great Steakhouse and Piano Bar 3/12/2005

This FM 1960 Steakhouse has the absolute best filet mignon in town. The flavor is outstanding and it is very consistently prepared (as it is all I eat when I go at least 2X per month). The restaurant has really developed over the years it has been there and they have done a great deal of rennovation and updating in the last few years. The piano bar can be counted on for a lot of fun and great music. The staff is inconsistent, there are outstanding people that have been there years and new people that need some polish considering the fine dinning atomosphere. All in all a great value with live entertainment most evenings. Pros: Piano Bar, Steaks, 1/2 Price Wine days Cons: Parking Lot more

Hmmm 3/25/2004

Not really what I was expecting!!! I thought nice, not so much. Not the way I would have invisioned my anniversary. I think I could have had a more intiment atmosphere at Steak and Ale. When we showed up it was just like people were hanging out. I think it was not bad, but not worth the amount of money that we spent. Pros: Filet Cons: , Lobster, Cosmopolitans more

What did I miss 11/15/2003

I see the all the good reviews. But when I went it didnt seem all that. and was a little pricey. Seems like they have a party type atmosphere, in the Jazz side that I was in, but nothing special. just high priced steak. I will give it another shot. and see if its any better. all these revies cant be wrong. Cons: price, quality, food more

City Search is correct! 10/5/2003

After reading the reviews of Prime Time Steak House on City Search, I decided to vist the restaurant. This place has it all! Great food, great service great ambiance and entertainment to boot. It's one of my new favorite places to go! Pros: extensive menu, comfortable, food, food, food Cons: did not find any more

Learning to respect the NW side of town 8/9/2003

I would have to agree with all the positive reviews thus far. My wife and I live in Kingwood but enjoy going to the NW side of town for dinner and a movie. I wasn't shocked by their curb side appeal but once inside it was welcoming. Their building was a Red Lobster 4 years ago but now it offers a very quite and dimmly lit atmosphere. Tonight we were waited on by Tami Harris (excellent service) and to our delight we had a fantastic dinner. I ordered the 12oz New York strip medium rare and my wife had the White Wine Grilled Chicken Breast. Along with our main course we enjoyed Jalapeno & Cheese Stuffed Shrimp, and Wedge of Iceberg with Bleu Cheese. The food was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. We will certainly return and try their Seafood restaurant (The Boat) that is managed by Tami. Pros: quite, romantic, reasonably priced more
