My wife and I went to the Taste of South Boston last month and had a great time. The food, people, band and ambience was extraordinary. To my surprise, we won a raffle prize; a $25 gift card for Pressed Sandwiches. We have visited the Pressed Sandwiches on Northern Ave in the South Boston Seaport district before and enjoyed the food, so naturally we were excited.\r
A few weeks went buy and the weather started looking up so we decided to go to use the gift card at the Northern Ave Pressed Sandwiches. When we ordered our food the gift card appeared to have no money on it. I was about to pull my wallet out and pay for the food when an employee (presumably the manager) honored the card and put $25 on it. This went above and beyond our expectations and we will certainly make this our ?summer sandwich place.?\r
Now, on to the food. The concept of a pressed sandwich is quite unique to the Boston area. It is basically making a sandwich and then pressing it together; like a grilled cheese sandwich. Their menu is fantastic and they are always looking for suggestions (we highly recommend the Italian chicken and prosciutto & mozzarella). There are always deals and specials to entice you, and some nice background music as well. As residents of Southie we will frequent Pressed Sandwiches and suggest that you give them a try.
