My son Dylan, who is 7, started Tiger Rock in the Cubs Class; he is now a Lvl 2 Blue Belt. I can see the self confidence that has grown since starting with Mr. Groce and taking the summer camps that he offers. Fortunately, when my son started, Mr. Groce was offering a summer program that let the parents train for free for a while. I can't thank him enough for getting me started back into Martial Arts. It's a bonding experience for kids and adults. It's a program that fits all types of abilities. People who are strong or not so strong do well with his teaching. He will push you to do the best of your ability, not judge you on the ability of others. He also teachs self growth in class: honor, courtesy, integrity, perserverence, self control..... , which we all need, especially our children. more

My son has been part of Tiger Rock for over a year now. I have watched his passion for the sport grow and he looks forward to going to class everyday. I have Mr. Groce and Ms. Nash to thank for this. Tiger Rock has been great for my family. From my youngest (9), to my oldest (13), and my husband, they have all learned a lot from Mr. Groce and Ms. Nash. They are excellent teachers, patient and understanding. I have seen a wonderful change in my kid's self-esteem, confidence and physical condition. They enjoy the classes very much. We have been going to Tiger Rock since 2005. All 3 children have taken classes with Mr. Groce. My oldest proceeded all the way to get her black belt. Mr. Groce is great with the young children, so patient and understanding. We saw a huge boost in her self-confidence, and feel it empowered her at school and at home. We have been so pleased with Tiger Rock that my husband began taking classes two years ago! It has been a great workout for him. He lost weight and is in much better physical condition. As a mother/women in mid-life, taking martial arts is a great way to stay in shape and learn self defence. The instructors are patient with older students who may need more time than the younger students LOL more

My son started Tae Kwon Do a year ago and he just loves it so much! Mr. Groce and Ms. Nash have taken him under their wings and are helping to mold him into a confident, respectful and accountable young man. He always wants to do a good job for them as well as for himself. They are very good at what they do and make a great team! Our daughter began TKD over a year ago and she is still enjoying it! She has gained more confidence and has learned so many skills. She adores Mr. Groce and Ms. Nash. They are awesome instructors. My son began Tae Kwon Do with Mr. Groce in elementary school and continues now as a 2nd degree Black Belt even while he is in high school. The academy is successful due to the instruction of Mr. Groce. He keeps students of all ages and abilities challenged, and he always helps them to develop strong character as well. Our family has been very pleased with Tiger Rock Martial Arts. We have six children; every single one of them started as a white belt with this academy, and progressed successfully through the ranks until they became permanent black belts. We saw each child grow physically and cognitively working with the Tiger Rock staff: everyone was allowed to advanced at his/her own pace, but they were constantly encouraged to try their best and achieve their goals. Mr. Groce is the main reason for the success of this school. He is a very patient man, and oh so wonderful with children and young people. He can speak to the kids on their level; he can push them to their utmost; but he requires them to develop the respect and discipline they need to become good and productive citizens of their community. Growing up I was never confident, but now my confidence has went through the roof ever since I started taking taekwondo from Mr. Groce. He is such an excellent and patient instructor. This was the best decision I ever made and this is the only school I would ever take from. more

I first found Tiger TKD while looking for something to keep the kids occupied during the summer. That was over a year ago. Now, the entire family are members. Mr. Groce is one of the most exceptional instructors I have ever had the pleasure of working with. My daughter has recently achieved the rank of Brown Belt, and her confidence is soaring, which lead to better grades, and an overall better attitude. The adult classes are a great workout and very motivational. I recommend TKD as a whole family activity. We all enjoy it and are looking forward to the next tournament. My son has been taking Taekwondo with Instructor Jerry Groce (5th Degree) for 5 years, we followed him when he decided to start his own branch of the ITA. He is excellent with little kids, teenagers and adults. He can teach an entire room of young children Martial Arts in a fun environment, I have yet to see a child leave without having a good time. The classroom is open and parents have chairs and an area to watch (no closed doors). I have seen several families attend together and progress up the ranks to Black belt, in fact I would say that half of his students have a parent or a sibling enrolled as well. I think the monthly price is very good and a great value for what you actually get. For just starting his own branch his membership following is excellent, most of his adult students stay with it and attain the rank of First Degree Black belt or better, which means they are motivated to finish and enjoy the process. No guilt, no yelling, no drama just solid instruction, respectful interaction and progressive accomplishment in Martial Arts and life lessons. Pros: Instructor works well with kids, value priced packages, great website to stay on schedule Cons: Facility is still in renovation, adult training hours tend to start late more

We have been TKD members for 3 years. This is a positive environment for the whole family. Mr. Groce is very dedicated to teaching, building self-esteem, and physical fitness, as well as having fun. He is able to bring out the best in his students, and challenge them to accomplish whatever they want. I definitely recommend this program for all ages. more

Our son has been a TKDer for almost a year now, and he looks forward to his sessions with Mr. Groce and the other members of the class. Mr. Groce has a God given gift for working with children and makes their learning fun and exciting. He is a fun loving person with a contagious personality who also balances this part of him with the equally important role as instructor in holding the kids accountable for their behavior and progress.
