Best Studio in the city, and Rebecca is a GREAT teacher! 8/19/2008

I couldn't disagree more. Prana is my favorite studio in the city, and believe me, I have tried them all. It is the cleanest and friendliest of all of them. The teachers are fantastic, Rebecca, in particular, is always cheerful and is a wonderful and relaxing teacher (although she does have some challenging classes -- but in a good way!) She welcomes any questions you have about poses before and after class and goes out of her way to make sure you are having the best experience possible. I highly recommend Prana for people who are interested in a heated vinyasa flow with friendly people. Enjoy! more

Good teachers, great community 1/11/2008

I love the Prana community! This was the first studio in NYC that I truly felt welcome. Rolf Gates is one of the most amazing teachers ever - if he is teaching you should definitely check it out. A good strong flow, he also provides inpiration and meditation to his teaching. Molly, Megan, Danny, Vasana are all also great! Be prepared for a strong class with some heat (not too much heat, heat junkies will find it sometimes a bit chillier than a good Bikram class but good enough). more

junk yoga 10/11/2007

just as there is junk science, i guess there is junk yoga too. i took a class with rebecca, who mostly stood at the front of the room, occasionally walked around, calling out poses, but not checking and/or correcting anyone's form. and the heat!!! i know that there is supposedly some benefits to bikram, but COME ON- the only reason for the heat in this class is to make people thinking they are getting a workout because they are sweating, when really its just the 95 degree room that is making you sweat. this place is a serious joke. Pros: location, number/times of classes Cons: crowded class, AWFUL teacher, no shower more

Great workout! 10/15/2006

If you are into a great workout and want to be challenged, this is the place to be. Check out Amelia's classes. She takes you to another level where you are surprised at what your body can do. Pros: great teacher Cons: no showers! surprising with the heat and humidity in the studio. more

Best Power Yoga 5/7/2006

This place is a gem... recently opened in Union Square. It is intense... beware! 95 degree room and some serious flow yoga, but you will be feeling great after a few sessions. Phillipe is the best!!! more
