I enjoy the paved trails at Powder Valley Nature Center. They are just the perfect length for a leisurely afternoon run. There are a total of 3 trails and all offer a nice view of the woods and creeks throughout Powder Valley. What I like best for running are the plethora of hills throughout which offer a nice challenge. more

nature trails and more 9/11/2005

There are over two miles of paved walking trails through beautiful woods. There is also an interpretive center offering educational discussions and information. Additionally there are interactive displays on a wide variety of topics. Children love all of these displays and run back to their respective adults to drag them to the next cool thing they found. more

Very nice nature center 8/18/2005

This is a really nice place to go for an afternoon. They have a nice trail to walk on, and many exhibits inside. They do hold classes here as well on various conservation and education subjects. They also have a very nice bird watching area set up, with a large window that looks out on a wooded area with many bird feeders. You can see quite a few different species of bird, along with many other animals, including deer! If you are looking for a quiet place to go spend an hour or two, this is a great choice. more

Hidden gem 8/17/2005

Hidden away nearby busy I-270 and I-44, this nature center offers nearly 3 miles of paved trails within 112 acres of majestic forest. The landscaping here is quite spectacular. Hiking the trails here is a serene experience. When I first visited, I couldn't believe how I've never known about it before even though I drive by it so frequently. Trails are not very long but consist of gentle to moderate slopes. You can get away from it all and feel relaxed just after a short hike. Be sure to check out the nature center while you are there. Highly recommended! more
