Pockets is one of those huge sports bars that has both a lot and nothing to offer. What do I mean by a lot and nothing to offer? Well, it's simple. If you like to shoot pool, play darts, play video poker or a handful of video games, or enjoy having a beer and listening to a local band or kareoke.....well I have good news and bad news. The good news is that they have all of the above and a full kitchen (if you like everything deep fried)....but they do none of the above really well.
Simply put, there are better pool halls (with better tables and little or no wait), better dart boards (that aren't so crammed against eachother), better places to play video games, and definately better bars for hanging out in Tallahassee.
With all that said....Pockets isn't terrible at any of the things that they try to do either. There are worse in town...and if you and your crew don't know what you feel like doing on any given night....there's something for everyone at Pockets. Just be aware that it's 21+ on saturdays....and some nights (when there's a band) there is usually a cover charge. When there isn't a cover....there's usually a wait list for pool tables. I think the theme is "give and take".
