I will have to agree with the NEGATIVE feedback. Earlier today I take two rings to several jewelers in the Sunvalley Mall to have them appraised. One ring is a 10kt white gold with a tanzanite stone and some very small diamonds. This ring had an average appraisal of ~$500.00. The second ring I had appraised was 14kt yellow gold with I believe 12 small emerald stones. This ring had an average appraisal of ~$1200.00.
I then go to Pleasant Hill Coin & Jewelry where I’m kindly greeted by a gentleman. “How can we help you today” he asks. I told him I would like to sell two rings. He takes the rings and with only a quick glance he places them on a scale. He then grabs a calculator and with a few calculations, “$50.00” was his offer.
Side note: I know shops like this need to make a profit, but come on. 2.9% of the appraised value?
“Oh, well these are worth a bit more than that.” I stated. He then said with a smug tone, “Well not to me.”
I was astonished, took back to jewelry and left. I honestly thought that this was a reputable shop until this incident. I would STRONGLY recommend NOT using Pleasant Hill Coin & Jewelry if this is how they conduct business.
